1 T agum City Mus ikahan Festival 20 14 Tagum City: A Home of Music Celebration Rondal-Awit – Plucked Strings Competition An exquisite display of the skills in plucked-string music renditions and vocal solo performances, in a series of competitions participated by the different Rondalla ensemble in the country, who has proven their virtuosity in engaging ensemble performance and in singular interpretation of their chosen music composition s either Filipino or Foreign composers. Competition Date : March 1, 2014 9:00 AM- Children’s Category 2:00 PM- Open Category Venue Bulwagan ng Lalawigan, Davao del Norte Provincial Capitol Grounds, Tagum City Categories: The competition has two categories: 1. Children’s Category - 7 to 13 years old. 2. Open Category ( Youth Adult ) - 14 years old and above. Participation: 1. The competition is open to all Rondalla groups in the countr y, either school-based or community-based. 2. Solo Singers who a re featured by the partici pating Ronda lla groups must not have existing contracts with any commercial record ing company in the country or abroad. Requirements: 1. Submission of Application Form together with the list of members of the group on or before January 31, 2014. General briefing will be on Feb. 3, 2014, 2:00 PM @ the Tagum City Rotary Park Gymnasium. 2. Members of the Rondalla Ensemble, should be Filipino Citizens and/or foreigners; 3. A minimum number of 15 and a maximum of 25 members, excluding the solo singer, and the conductor. 4. Total performance time for the Rondalla Ensemble should not exceed 15 minutes while the Solo Singer’s performance must not exceed 8 minutes. 5. A deduction of 2 points from the total score will be imposed on all entries that exceed the time limit of performance. The time count starts upon the playing of the first note of the first song. 6. Representative of Rondalla Ensemble must attend the Final Briefing Session prescribed by the organizer probably a day before the agreed-upon elimination date. General Mechanics: 1. Two (2) music pieces (composed and/or arranged by either Filipino or Foreign artists) of their own choice; 2. One (1) Filipino Kundiman or Folk Song piece that is interpreted by a Solo Singer to be approved by the committee.
