Assessment Task Information
The purpose of this assessment task is for you to demonstrate
your knowledge. This assessment task replaces the originally
planned task of producing a plan for restoration works and is worth
60% of your mark.
1. Produce a table that displays the key information required
for your top ten weeds in the following groups:
· Woody Weeds
· Scramblers & Vines
· Ground Flora Weeds
This table should only show information relevant to the control
of each species. As many of you have commenced work on this as a
team, be sure that team members have not left any gaps in areas
they have completed. You may need to check ALL work has been
completed thoroughly.(15)
2. Create a table that shows the Bushland Restoration Techniques
available for each weed group. Be sure to show what the benefits
and draw backs of each technique are, along with OHS issues to be
considered and a judgement on the cost of the technique (high,
medium or low) remembering that labour or time is a cost. (10)
3. Describe the ‘Principles of Bushland Restoration’ (The Three
R’s) – What are they? How do you determine what an area is? How do
you use them? (5)
4. Record Keeping – what sort of records need to be kept and
why? (5)
5. Monitoring Works– How can you tell if a project is on budget?
When and how would you check the project is on budget? Can
adjustments be made? What would they be? Design a project audit
sheet that can be used to determine if your projects are on budget
and that adequate records are kept for the project. (10)
6. Project completion – What information will you supply to the
client at the completion of a project? (5)
8. Scenarios – View the following fictitious site descriptions
and accompanying maps. Develop a list of works that identify the
priorities and treatment techniques. Use whatever format you like
to do this. (10)
