The grant will help fund the Tacoma 13 Corridor for Active Trans- portation and Safety Project designed to create a continuous 13-mile active transportation corridor that spans across the city to serve as the core of Ta- coma's on-street bike network. "These federal dollars will help accelerate the ef- forts of our Mobility Master Plan and enhance the quality of life for our residents and visitors," said City Manager T.C. Broadnax. "This investment al- lows the City to increase opportunities to safe ac- cess for cyclists and pedestrians of all abilities while encouraging environmentally-friendly modes of transportation." Once completed, the Tacoma 13 Project will pro- vide convenient and safer access from neighbor- hoods to downtown, transit, parks and commercial areas.
