We live in a universe that is made up of energy, both in physical and non-physical forms. All
energy travels in waves (or vibrations) and it can never be destroyed, it merely changes forms.
A different rate of vibration exists between the energy we can see with our eyes, such as our
bodies, and the energy that we cannot see but that also exists, such as a radio wave. You’ve
seen energy, in the power of an ocean wave, and you’ve also felt it around you, for example, in
the presence of someone you strongly dislike.
Your thoughts are energy too and your brain is the most powerful electromagnetic
processing tool ever created. Use it wisely and the things you desire in life will start to
magnetically and magically move towards you. Think of yourself as a powerful transmitter of
energy, recognizing that what you send out to the universe will be returned to you in equal
measure.
The average person has approximately 60,000 thoughts each day. What do you spend most
of your thoughts thinking about? Do you focus on your goals and aspirations? Do you use your
thoughts to build your faith, confidence and positive beliefs?
Or do you think about your fears and worries, wondering how you’re going to pay your bills?
Do you focus on your anger, jealousy or other negative emotions? Do you kill your dreams with
self-doubts or false beliefs?
The results that you see and experience in your life will generally tell you a great deal about
the kind of thoughts you’ve been having and whether they’re helping or hindering you. You are

If you doubt the power of your own thoughts, here’s a very simple example as to how you
already use the power of your mind to manifest your reality. You’ve likely experienced the
following at least once in your lifetime. You’d been thinking about a friend you hadn’t spoken to
in a while. Shortly thereafter your phone rang or you received an email. It was your friend
getting in touch with you, responding to the vibration of your thought energy. No doubt you
can think of other examples of how some of your thoughts turned into reality.
The challenge is that most of us frequently think negative thoughts. In fact, roughly 80% of
the average person’s thoughts are negative. Negative thoughts are often so patterned into our
thinking that we’re not even aware of them and are thus unconsciously attracting negativity or
more of what we don’t want into our lives.
Why would we ever choose negative thoughts over positive ones? Somewhere along the
way we developed these negative thought patterns or beliefs. They can come from our culture,
media or external messaging, our family, our upbringing or a key event or situation. Whatever
the case, we’re often not even aware of them. Nor do we question the validity of these
thoughts or the impact that they have on our lives.
For example, think of something in your life that you’ve always wanted to be, do or have but
that is not currently part of your reality. What are the thoughts, beliefs or story you are telling
yourself about that particular thing? Be very honest with yourself here. If you’re telling yourself
all the reasons why you can’t be, do or have that thing then you are unconsciously putting up
barriers on the road to your own success.
Recognizing this fact and becoming more aware of your own thoughts is the first step to
giving the green light to your dreams and successfully manifesting whatever you desire in life.

Know that the real power in the process already lies within you. You have the power to
control your mind and your thought process so that you can consciously create the life of your
dreams.

Guiding Principles Your present reality is temporary. Wherever you are in life, whatever is going on right at this
moment in time, is destined to change. All of life, including yours, is in a constant state of shift
and evolution.
Simply look around you, look back upon your life and you’ll see that this is true. Grass
grows, seasons change, the moon cycles, humanity evolves, the landscape of life continually
shifts and changes. You, as well as the circumstances of your life have continually undergone
change and transformation. Many of us make the mistake of focusing on our current reality and
generating thoughts or fears that support it being our permanent reality. This is not the case.
Wherever or however your life is right now, it is only temporary.

You are what you believe. As you focus on what you believe, you begin to magnify the power
of your beliefs. Most often when you believe something, that belief is operating at a
subconscious level of your mind which is infinitely more powerful than your conscious mind.
The question is whether you are holding beliefs which empower or limit yourself.
When you believe in something, it is like putting on a pair of glasses that filter and align your
vision accordingly. Your subconscious functions like a computer, constantly filtering information
or searching for opportunities that either support or match your beliefs. It then either rejects
the information or delivers it to your conscious mind. For instance, if you believe that people
are kind, you will notice people who reflect that belief. If you believe that people are unkind,
you will find people and circumstances that reflect that belief. Either way, it is your beliefs that
filter what you see.
What do you believe? Become aware of your beliefs, question them and ensure that they are
aligned with your vision for yourself. If they are not, cultivate new beliefs where necessary.
Equally important is to believe, without any doubt, that what you desire is on its way. Don’t
be concerned with the details of how or when it's coming. Let the universe handle those. Your
role is simply to remain focused on building your beliefs, your desires and your intentions.
You are ultimately responsible. Self-responsibility is the cornerstone of taking charge of your
life and establishing a healthy sense of overall well-being. You are ultimately responsible for
your feelings, your actions and your life. The responsibility for the consequences of your
choices and behaviors, both positive and negative, is also yours. Moving forward towards your
dream life requires an earnest willingness to accept yourself and your life, learn from your
mistakes and genuinely seek to grow.
Accepting responsibility does not imply accepting blame or guilt but moreover, it is about an
honest and curious inquiry into how and why your life is the way it is. What assumptions,

beliefs or attitudes motivated your choices and what can you change in the future? For
example, in reference to a particular situation you could ask yourself, “What beliefs do I have
that I allowed that to happen?”
Ask yourself what would be different if you took responsibility for your happiness, your
financial security, your career, your relationships and your health? What are the benefits to you
of not taking responsibility for your health, finances, goals, emotions and relationships?
A healthy sense of self-responsibility both reflects and generates positive self-esteem.
People with high self-esteem are confident and feel that they are in control of their lives.
Through their thoughts and their actions, they deliberately and continually seek solutions and
improvements, fast-tracking their way to achieving whatever it is that they want in life.
Believe in that which you cannot see. To truly harness the power to manifest the life of your
dreams, you must believe in things that you cannot see. While there is a great deal of scientific
and anecdotal evidence that “like attracts like”, thought precedes form, miracles do happen
and “that there is more to life than meets the eye”, many still question what they cannot see.
The best way to build belief in things you cannot see is to experience and to question.
Look no further than the miracle of your own life to begin to recognize that there is much
more to life than what you can see with your own eyes. Are you breathing? Do you have
thoughts? Do you experience intuitive moments? Do you believe in love, yet can’t see it? Have
you ever experienced incredible moments of synchronicity?
These things are real. Yet how do they happen or where do they come from? They may be
abstract forms or concepts but their existence cannot be denied because you’ve experienced
them. Engage yourself as an inquisitive student of the non-physical aspects and forms of life.

Becoming a powerful manifester will require you to harness the power of things that you
cannot see, such as your thoughts, your spirit and your energy. It will also require you to believe
that the power of other energies and forces in life will be co-creating your dreams with you.
The Universe, Spirit, The Divine, God, Buddha, Infinite Being, Creator, Lifeforce, whatever
you wish to call it – explore it, feel it, question it, experience it, enjoy it and believe in it. It is on
the other side of what you cannot see where you’ll discover a whole new world of limitless
possibilities and the infinite power to create your most heartfelt desires.
Focus on your desires, not your fears. On the path to manifesting your dreams, it is essential
to dispel any fears you may have, as well as the host of negative thoughts and emotions that
are reigning in your mind.
When you wish to create more, focus your attention on what you wish to experience, not on
your fears and doubts. While it is important to acknowledge and be aware of your fears, do not
allow them to hold you hostage. Listen to them, learn from them and let them go. Do not live
with them nor allow them to control you or your life.
Focus instead on your desires and all the wonderful feelings that come with them. It’s not
always easy to let go of your fears but if you really want to make your wishes come true,
practice and choose to step forward with faith.
Give your life’s energy to your highest hopes, desires, dreams and positive possibilities and
let that be the fuel that propels your life to new heights.
Keep your battery fully charged. Remember to ‘feel good’ as you do the work of manifesting
what you desire. Why do you want your dream or your ‘thing’? More often than not, it has to
do with the fact that having that ‘thing’ will make you feel good. “Like attracts like” so as you

continue to feel good and keep your emotions positive, you will naturally attract those things
that make you feel good.
Your mood greatly affects your ability to attract the results you desire. Your thoughts trigger
feelings that will render you in either a good or a bad mood. The best indicator of your
emotional state and energetic vibration is your mood. Keep in mind that your thoughts become
far more powerful when they are charged by positive, high-vibration emotions such as joy and
appreciation.
How do you keep your vibrations and emotions on the feel good side of life? There are a
number of ways including the use of music, dance, visualizations, declarations, scripting and
affirmations to name just a few. The critical point is to try new things and find tools that work
for you. Keeping yourself feeling good is an essential part of your ‘inside’ work.
Also be mindful of the importance of managing your ‘outside’ environment. Surround
yourself with things, people, places and activities that help make you feel good. Ensure that
what is in your life lifts you and gives you energy, rather than leaving you feeling drained or
depleted.
Quite simply, to create a life that feels good, you have to begin by feeling good.
Change is easy. When you are in absolute harmony with what you truly desire and what is
truly in your heart, change is easy. Whether you currently find change easy or difficult depends
on whether you graciously accept or reject it as being part of your life. It also depends upon
whether your goals and desires are in alignment with the change.
Your life is going to change on you at some point, it’s inevitable. Whether you instigate
change or life changes on you, learn to welcome and accept change, knowing that it’s sending
you in a new direction. Parts of you must change in order for you to manifest your dreams.

Rather than thinking, “Why me?” or “Why now?” take a positive, proactive approach and see
change as an adventure. Ask instead, “Where is this taking me?”, “What will I learn from this?”
or “How might this change benefit me?” This will keep you forward-focused and whatever
change you are going through will become so much easier.
Don’t resist change, flow with it and accept it. Everything will fall into place. New doors will
open, new opportunities will appear and new ways of looking at your situation will arise. The
universe will help you and work with you because it wants you to find happiness, success and
fulfilment.
It may take some time, faith and practice but when you can reach that place of being at
harmony with change, you’ll find that change really is easy.

Money
What Was I Thinking?
Most people would like to have more money, whether it’s to be able to live a more
comfortable lifestyle, enjoy a secure retirement, travel or pay off debt. Many meet with limited
success because they fail to begin in the right place, their head.
The first step in manifesting more money is examining and becoming more aware of some of
your commonly held beliefs and thoughts about money. Our culture, our upbringing and our
family are often sources of some of our most deeply ingrained subconscious beliefs. No doubt,
for instance, you’ve heard the saying “money doesn’t grow on trees”, a message that suggests
that money is hard to come by.

What do you tell yourself about money? Do you tell yourself that there’s not enough to go
around? Is money only for successful people? Did you grow up poor and therefore believe you’ll
always be poor? Do you believe that it’s difficult to make more money? You cannot manifest
more money until you begin to improve your own relationship with money.
Whatever your current beliefs are, you can build new, more empowering beliefs. Begin by
becoming aware of the story you’re telling yourself about money. Be very honest with yourself
here. You may even wish to make a list of all the beliefs and thoughts you have about money.
With this awareness, you can begin to question the beliefs that are hindering you, eventually
replacing them with beliefs that aligned with your goals. For example, if you grew up poor and
believe you’ll always be poor, you’re not allowing yourself to believe in anything but your own
poverty. Through your own thinking you are, in fact, keeping yourself poor.
Is your story really true? No! Look at the world around you and you can find numerous
examples of people who also grew up poor and who successfully transformed their financial
circumstances. And guess what, you can too.
Examine your beliefs closely. Most likely, the opposite of what you currently believe is
exactly the belief you need to build upon. If you currently believe that you don’t deserve
wealth, for instance, ask yourself, “Why not me?” Then begin to build new beliefs that support
all the reasons why you do deserve more wealth.
Whatever you desire financially is yours, the moment that you believe it is.
It’s Decision Time
What is your goal with regards to money? Do you want to rid yourself of debt? Are you
looking to double or triple your income? Do you wish to create enough wealth to live a more
comfortable lifestyle and be able to do all the things that you enjoy?

This is the time for you to get very clear about your goal and to firmly commit to change. It’s
critical that you feel driven, connected and passionate about your goal in order to succeed.
Telling yourself, “I’m going to try to eliminate my debt” is not a powerful goal. Instead, your
goal needs to be clear and one to which you are firmly committed, such as, “I am committed to
managing my income and expenses in such a way that I will eliminate my debt by the end of
this year”.
Wanting your financial circumstances to change in any way requires a firm decision on your
part that you are ready for things to be different. Set your intention on beginning to move
where you wish to go and you shift from wondering if things will ever change to making them
change.
Review your goal. What old habits or patterns can you begin to change that will support your
goal? What new behaviors or thoughts can you adopt that will help you? Foster a way of being
and doing that is aligned with your new goal. For example, developing a budget would be a
good start to helping to eliminate debt.
The key here is to make a committed decision to your goal so that the powers of the
universe can make a commitment to your goal as well.
Your Parade of Abundance
Abundance comes in many forms; time, money, freedom, goods, nature, love, knowledge,
gifts, resources and more. The best way to raise your vibration and attract even more
abundance into your life, in any form, is to appreciate the abundance that you already have.
Not only does this exercise keep your thoughts and feelings positive, but it also focuses your
thinking in the right direction, on what you already have and not on what you feel is missing.

There are many ways in which you can celebrate your abundance. You may wish to start a
gratitude journal. Or you may wish to give thanks in your prayers or meditations. A wonderful
exercise is to put your hand over your heart, take a
few deep breaths and think about all the things you
are grateful for. Some people like to visualize a
celebratory parade of abundance going through
their home with floats representing time, money
and so on.
Whatever means you choose to celebrate your
abundance, be sure to make appreciation a daily
practice. You’ll appreciate the immediate difference
it makes to your life.
How High do You Want to Go?
Many of us are accustomed to aiming too low when it comes to money. Again, this most
often relates to the beliefs we’ve held about money. Now that you’re building new beliefs
about money, where do you truly wish to go? How much wealth would you truly like to create?
And, most importantly, what is having that money going to do for you? Connect with the
feelings you’re going to experience by having more money.
As you begin to expand your thinking and vision of your financial goals, write down your
vision with specific amounts and timelines, being sure to also include what it would mean to
you to achieve your vision. Remember, it does not matter what your current reality is. That is
only temporary.
The goal here is to expand your imagination, envision new possibilities and begin to build the
pathways to creating a very new financial future.

The best way to attract abundance is to
appreciate the abundance you already
have
It’s All Mind Fun and Games
Now for the really fun part! You’ve begun to re-program your beliefs and have firmly
committed yourself to your new vision. It’s imperative to keep your sights set on your vision.
Think of it this way. If you’ve ever participated in any type of running event, a marathon for
instance, once you leave the start line, what do you begin to think about? A successful runner
focuses on the finish line, their desired result and what they’re going to feel like when they get
there. They do not dwell at the start line nor upon any particular moment along the running
course.
How do you keep your attention on your vision? Let your mind have fun. Imagine what you
will do with your newly created wealth. Visualize yourself having achieved your goals and what
your life will then look like. Know that it’s not a matter of “if” but “when” you will get there.
Imagine yourself taking steps into your new future every day. You may wish to create a vision
board that includes photos of people, places or things that are part of your vision. Or you may
prefer to create powerful affirmations or statements about your vision. Just be sure that you
feel powerfully aligned with your visions or affirmations and that they make you feel good.
The more often you practice some mind fun and games, the more engrained your goal
becomes in your subconscious. Regular mind play not only redirects your thoughts but it also
keeps your feelings around your goal vibrating on high, which is a powerful key to successful
manifesting.
Have fun creating and playing with your vision. And simply keep the end in mind, your
feelings at heart and your new vision will be well on its way to becoming your new reality.
Creating Your New Reality
This last step is one that is often missed yet it is one that you cannot overlook. You must
begin to take necessary steps to co-create your new reality. The universe will work with you, as
long as you keep moving in the direction of your vision.

A runner can believe, dream, commit and visualize but they still have to put one foot in front
of the other in order to reach the finish line. Once they do begin to take steps forward however,
they not only get closer to their destination but they also encounter cheering bystanders, other
runners who will support them en route and helpful volunteers who have food and water to
energize them on their way.
It is the same with your dreams and goals. You have to take steps in their direction. When
you do so, it is given that the universe will meet you along the way.
Write down your goals and your plan and create actions and habits that will support you. If
you wish to reduce your debt, for example, what are you going to do every day to move you
closer to that goal? What practices are you going to put in place to build and re-inforce new
beliefs and thoughts? Ensure that everything you’re doing now is supporting your vision for the
future.
Finally, allow the good to flow to you. As you move forward, new opportunities and
wonderful surprises are going to come your way. Open yourself to a new way of being and in
return, the universe will open itself up for you.

Tell Me What You Want, What You Really, Really Want
While the statistics may vary, with some saying that fewer than 10% of the working
population enjoy their work, it is clear that a large number of people would welcome a job or
career change. For those of you who are serious about making a change and finding work you
truly enjoy, where do you begin?
Start by getting clear about what you want in your ideal job. In order to harness the powers
of the universe to work with you to create your ideal career, you must first be clear about what
it is that you desire in your work.

If you feel stuck uncovering exactly what you want in an ideal career, the chances are good
that you know what you don’t like about your current job or career. This is a great starting point
for creating your career wish list as the things that you don’t want usually reveal to you all of
the things that you do want. For example, if you don’t want a job that requires a long commute
then you want a job that is closer to home.
As always, you are not going to continue to focus on what you don’t want. You’re only using
that information as a helpful guide, enabling you become very clear about what you really do
want.
I Have Superpowers? You’d Better Believe it!
Maybe you’ve reached the point in your job or career where, like so many people, you don’t
feel happy or fulfilled. Perhaps you feel like you’re in the wrong place or doing the wrong thing.
Maybe you don’t believe that you can have a career that will make you happy, the level of
income you’d like or the career of your choosing. Or maybe you haven’t figured out how to
align your skills, passions and desires with your work. Whatever the case, your work has begun
to feel like, well, ‘work’.
Your real job now is to build positive beliefs about your future work and most importantly, to
cultivate positive beliefs about yourself. Compile an inventory (work and non-work related) of
your skills, accomplishments, passions and interests. Begin to recognize and appreciate all of
your superpowers and the value of all that you have to offer. Acknowledge, believe and truly
recognize that you are so much more than your current ‘job’.
This exercise will not only give you further clues about your future work but it will also help
build the confidence you need to move forward towards manifesting work that you will love.

I Can See Clearly Now
You’ve created a long list of all the things that you want in a job or career. You’ve also
created a list of your skills, interests and passions. What’s next?
It’s time to put it all together and begin to build a picture as to what your perfect work
situation would look like. Where will you be working? What will your work environment look
like? What kind of people will you be working with?
As you develop your vision, expand your thinking as to what kind of work you could be doing
and remain open to any opportunities that the universe will present.
This is about creating your vision, one that is true to you. Many people make the mistake of
feeling influenced or pressured by what others do or say, which may lead them to question or
doubt their choices. Be true to yourself and listen to your heart throughout the process and
you’ll be on a clear path to achieving your dream job.
Congratulations, You Got the Job!
Once you’ve become clear about what you truly want in your career and created a vision
that captivates and excites you, you then must begin to set your energy in motion to attract
your ideal job to you.
One way to do this is to act as if you already have the
job that you truly desire. The reason for doing this is to
allow yourself to create and connect with the feelings
you would experience in doing that job. Connect with
the joy, excitement and happiness you’ll feel in your
new job. These positive feelings will raise your
vibrational energy to match that of your vision,
powerfully magnetizing your ideal career into your life.

Act as if you already have the job
that you truly desire
Affirmations are also a helpful tool that can help keep your feelings and your vibration in an
‘attracting’ state. Use affirmations that reflect an unwavering belief that your ideal job is
coming to you. “I am attracting a fulfilling, full-time job in customer service that compensates
me well and that is a short commute from my home” is a good example.
A final way to set your energy in motion is to practice and hone the skills you’d be using in
your new job. Begin to ‘do’ and ‘be’ the job you wish to have. Say, for example, you’d like to
publish a book and become an author. You have expertise in your niche, you’ve got the desire
and you can visualize yourself becoming an author one day. Although you are not currently an
author, begin to act as if you are. Establish a daily practice of writing. Start a blog or write
articles for other publications in your niche. Meet and network with other authors. Hang out in
the local bookstore and attend writing events or workshops.
By deliberately stepping into your new career shoes, your intention and your message to the
universe is crystal clear – this is who I am and this where I want to go.
There’s Not a Doubt in My Mind
Doubt will not be your friend on the journey to manifesting your ideal career. Whether it
comes in the form of your own thoughts, “Do I really have the skills I will need?” or perhaps
from people around you, “You can’t do that!” doubt can quickly extinguish the flames of your
dream. If you have a desire to attract your ideal job but harbour strong doubts at the same
time, you won’t be able to attract what you want since you are transmitting mixed signals and
contradictory energies.
Put yourself in the shoes of the universe for a moment. If you received a message that went
something like this, “I want a new job but no-one else is going to hire me. I only have a high
school diploma.” In response, the universe is thinking, “Okay, you want a new job but you don’t
think you can get one. So, how am I supposed to help you?” Your desire and your doubt are
fighting against each other, negating your ability to attract what you want.

When you want to quickly manifest your ideal career, you must combine a strong desire with
a complete lack of doubt or fear. Focus entirely on your desire, not on your fear.
It is natural for doubts and fears to creep in but understand that their presence also gives
you valuable clues about yourself and where change needs to be made. Become aware of your
thoughts, challenge them, let them go or re-focus where necessary. If you notice that you’re
often thinking or fearing that you don’t have the skills you’ll need, spend more time and
thought acknowledging your current skills or on creating a plan to further enhance your skillset.
Spend time on all of the exercises above – focus on your skills and abilities, appreciate
everything that you have to offer, visualize, state your affirmations and step into your new
shoes – and you’ll build unwavering confidence that what you desire will be yours. I have no

Everyone wants to love and be loved and an important part of that equation for many is
finding that ideal partner they can share their life with. How do you find the love of your life?
A good starting point is examining your own perceptions and beliefs about love. What does
love mean to you? What do you already love in your life? How will sharing love with your ideal
partner change your life? Why do you want to be ‘in love’? What do you tell yourself or what do
you believe about love? Do you believe that you can have the kind of partner that you want and
deserve?
You need to be ready for love before you can manifest your ideal relationship. Ask yourself

The Amazing Act of Falling in Love...with Yourself
Like energy attracts like energy and as such, manifesting more love or a loving relationship
begins with loving yourself first.
Many people have difficulty with self love and in fact, seek a relationship to fill a void that
exists within themselves. The feeling of such a void within reflects a belief in a lack of love or
thoughts such as “I am not enough on my own”. It is simply not possible to attract a fulfilling,
healthy and loving relationship from a place of feeling empty or unloved.
What does it mean to love yourself? It means taking the time to get to know yourself. It
means understanding and honouring your uniqueness. It means accepting all parts of yourself,
your strengths and your weaknesses. It means respecting yourself and being good to your mind,
body and spirit. It means being comfortable in your skin. It means being able to look at yourself

How do you learn to love yourself? Be loving towards yourself. If you have any negative
thoughts or beliefs in your mind, replace them with loving, affirming thoughts. If your thoughts
are unkind, replace them with kind thoughts. Write a list of all the reasons why you are a loving
and lovable person. If you’re not being good to your body, take care of yourself – get plenty of
sleep, exercise, pamper yourself, eat well. Stimulate your mind and nurture your soul. Give love
to your body and to your self.
Developing a habit of loving thoughts and positive actions and beliefs will raise your
confidence. It will also help you to become the best that you can be, the kind of person that you
would like to be with. In turn, that is exactly who you are going to attract into you life, the
partner that you truly want to be with.
You Can Wish Upon a Star but a List is Good Idea Too
When you wish to find something, you first need to know what it is that you’re looking for.
This is also true when it comes to finding your ideal relationship.
Get out your pen and paper and start making a list of everything you want in a partner.
This exercise is no different than selecting your new car. Remember that the universe can’t
deliver vague requests so be specific here. If you walked into a car dealership and asked the
salesman for a car, then you might end up with any car on the lot. But if you ask for a specific
make, model, colour and specs, then you’ll leave with exactly what you requested.
What kind of relationship are you looking for? What type of person are you looking for?
Write down the qualities you’re looking for and know that this person is out there for you. You
may wish to write down physical characteristics, such as height, weight, hair colour, etc. if you
have a preference. What kinds of activities do you wish to share with your partner? Include
everything that is important to you on your list.

Writing your wish list establishes a clear vision for yourself. In doing so, you’re sending a
powerful signal to the universe about your desires so that it won’t just send you any

Your thoughts and, in particular, your feelings are the magnets that will attract your new
love into your life. Allowing yourself to enjoy the feeling of being in love is another key
ingredient in successfully manifesting your new love relationship.
Daydream about your future partner and the relationship you’ll
enjoy together, focusing on the feeling of being in love. Feel the
butterflies in your stomach, feel the pleasure of what it will be like
to spend time together. Imagine walking hand in hand on the beach

What is ‘happiness’? What does ‘happiness’ mean to you?

Happiness is not something to be strived for. True happiness will never be attained in this

The only certainty that you have in life is this very moment, right now. To achieve true
happiness is to enjoy living in the now.
Many of us spend much of our time or thought dwelling in the past, rethinking past events or
wondering about what could have been. Or, we wonder what the future will bring, with a sense
of hope or perhaps worry. Neither the past nor the future will bring you happiness now.
The path to creating true happiness now is to feel grateful for what you have today.
Gratitude is an incredibly high energy feeling that will shift your energy into a more powerful
and positive state, allowing even more good things to be drawn to you.
How can you practice gratitude and being happy now? Be thankful for everything that you
have today. Look around you and notice all the things that you can appreciate. Be thankful for
your friends and family. Be thankful for the work you have and the food on your table. Be
thankful for your body and your health. Be thankful for the sunshine. Be thankful for the gift of
life. Make today matter.
Focus your thoughts, feelings and energy on the only moment you can truly control and
you’ll no longer be happy when..., you’ll be happy now.
Change Your Mind but Listen to Your Heart Too
You know that positive thoughts create positive feelings which allows you to become a
powerful magnet for attracting whatever you desire. The same principles also apply to
increasing your level of happiness.

Here’s a startling thought however. Each of us has approximately 60,000 thoughts every day,
80% of which are negative. That’s 48,000 unhelpful thoughts we’re allowing ourselves to think
each day! It’s no wonder that so many people feel discontent or unhappy.
The good news is that you can change your mind. You can become more aware of your
thinking and consciously choose to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. As the saying
simply goes, you can learn to ‘look on the bright side’ of life.
A simple way to do this is to find the contrast in your situation, to look for a more positive
perspective. My grandmother was excellent in this area. As she got older, she began to lose her
memory as many seniors do. One day she became confused midway through a story and
realized she’d forgotten some of the details. She paused for a moment and then simply said,
“Well, my memory’s not working so well but my forgetter is working really well”. You can use
humour to find the bright side, as my grandmother often did, but the key is to find some way to
switch your perspective to a more positive one. As a result, you’ll feel happier in that moment
and begin to build a mindset that will foster an overall sense of happiness throughout your life.
There is just one caveat here. While it’s important to be able to change your mind, it’s also
important to listen to the wisdom of your heart. Your heart intuitively knows what will truly
make you happy.
How many times have you said ‘no’ in life when you really wanted to say ‘yes’? Maybe you
were offered a gift or an evening out and said “No, I shouldn’t” or “No, I can’t” for whatever
reason. Meanwhile you could feel that your heart was telling you that it was an experience you
would have very much enjoyed that had now passed you by. Start saying ‘yes’ to opportunities
that call your heart and enjoy the joy and happiness that comes with doing what you truly
want.

Just Tell it Like It Is
Into every life a little rain must fall. Understanding and abiding by all the principles we’ve
discussed thus far will not cause you to live happily ever after, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
365 days a year. You must accept and understand that you will experience down periods, which
are entirely normal and arguably essential to realizing the life of your dreams.
During life’s ups and downs, we will often experience lower energy, contrasting emotions
such as anger, depression or frustration. Keep in mind however, that your thoughts create your
feelings so these emotions are actually valuable indicators of the direction your thoughts are
taking. Rather than giving in to these feelings you can use the opportunity to become more
aware of what you’re projecting into the world (and thus manifesting) and to replace them with
the helpful, more positive thoughts and feelings that you do want.
Here’s an example. You recently applied for a promotion at work and despite your high level
of qualification, you were overlooked for the job. As a result, you feel angry and frustrated. The
longer you linger with those feelings, the longer it will take you to find the work that you do
want.
What kinds of thoughts are in your mind to create these negative feelings? Maybe you’re
thinking that you aren’t as qualified as you thought? Maybe you’re second guessing some of
the answers you gave in your interview? Maybe you’re wondering whether you deserve a
promotion?
Well, think again. Perhaps your qualifications are more suited to an even better job? Maybe
it’s time to start looking outside of the company? Or maybe it’s time to start your own business
and design your own future?

Whatever contrasting times and feelings do visit your life, welcome them, learn from them
and accept them for what they are, signposts helping to guide you in the direction of where you

Say ‘No’ to Negativity
There is one final ingredient to creating true happiness. While it’s essential to nurture
positive thoughts and feelings, it’s also critical to say ‘no’ to negativity in all realms of your life.
On a daily basis we’re bombarded with negative messages from television, radio,
newspapers, magazines, friends and colleagues that can distort our thinking or perception of
the world around us. These subtle or not so subtle messages can quickly infiltrate our thinking,
leading us to see or think in a less positive light.
Limit or eliminate your exposure to media, negative people, negative environments or any
source of negativity that leaves you feeling drained rather than energized. Eliminating any
negative energy in your life helps to keep your energy vibrating on high and also makes room
for even more positivity and happiness to come your way.

Good Health is All Yours for the Making
Good health is in your hands. That’s right; you have the power to make decisions and choices
that have a direct impact on your overall state of health. It is commonly known, for instance,
that managing your stress, maintaining a healthy diet and engaging in regular exercise are
pillars of good health. There are many other factors which can contribute to your overall health
and well-being too. If you’re not currently enjoying optimal health, the great news is that the
power to change your health is all yours.
It will be useful for you to define what good health means in your mind. What does your
body look like? What sorts of activities do you do to nurture your health? Who do you have
supporting and helping you with your healthy lifestyle? How do you take care of your body?
What do you eat? What do you value about your health?37

Regardless of your current circumstances, define your picture of good health and what it
means to you. Taking your focus off of your current state and towards your desired state will
begin to shift your energy and move you in that direction. By simply defining your state of good
health, you’re taking a powerful step forward towards consciously creating the good health that
you desire.
A Healthy Body is All in Your Head
If you want to get healthy and stay that way, let me tell you that it’s all in your head. The
same principles of using positive focused thoughts to generate strong positive emotions and
create positive results applies to anything you wish to manifest in your life, including good
health.
The connection between mind, body and spirit is well known. When your mind programs a
thought, your body responds accordingly. As an example, try this simple exercise. Stand up, feet
flat on the floor, with a partner just behind you. Think of a situation in your life that upset you
or that you feel badly about. As you are doing so, have your partner place three fingers on your
shoulder and try to pull you backwards, off your feet.
Once you’ve tried that part of the exercise, remain standing, feet flat on the floor, partner in
the same position. Now think of a situation in which you felt strong, confident and positive. As
you are doing so, have your partner try to pull you backwards again.
What happened? On the second try, chances are that your partner didn’t have much luck
getting you to move. Why? It was due to the fact that you were thinking positive thoughts that
powered and energized your entire body, strengthening you in your stance. That is a simple
demonstration as to how the power of your mind influences your body.
The body’s reaction to stress – headaches, high blood pressure, disease, etc. – is another
great example of the effect of our thoughts on our physiology. Consider the placebo effect as

well. In tests for drugs or medical procedures, often patients receiving a placebo -a supposedly
ineffective drug or substance- will demonstrate healing or improvements. This can only be due
to the power of the mind and the beliefs that such patients hold about the healing effect of the
placebo.
In order to manifest the good health you desire, you must find opportunities to offer positive
thoughts about your health. As you do this, you are changing the energy of your body at a
cellular level which, consequently, will create the circumstances of good health that match your
improved thought vibration.
Say that you want to reduce your weight as part of your goal to enjoy better health. Many
people in this situation focus their attention or thoughts negatively, with thoughts such as, “I’ve
always been overweight” or “I don’t have time to cook a healthy meal” or “I don’t know if I can
lose weight”. These thoughts only serve as a self-fulfilling prophecy, keeping you from achieving
your desired goal.
What is the message that your thoughts are sending to your
body? Why do you have such thoughts? Where did they come
from? How can you begin to build more positive and
empowering thoughts?
Cultivate feelings of self worth. Affirm what is working well
with your body. Recognize areas for improvement but also
acknowledge what you’re already doing well. Build your support
system of resources and people who will help, guide and
support you.
Generate positive feelings about your journey. No matter
where you begin, honour the fact that you’re doing it, that you’ve embarked on a journey of

Cultivate feelings of self
worth; affirm what is working
well with your body
change. Be sure to celebrate your victories along the way knowing that every tiny improvement
means that you can go even further still.
Take advantage of every opportunity you have to think and feel better because your
healthier mind will ultimately lead you to the healthier body you desire.
Look Where You Want to Go
A common mistake made by many is to remain focused on their current health problems or
challenges. Turn your thoughts, your energy and your vision towards what you do want, not on
your current health issues. The way to magnetize an improved state of health is to see and feel
yourself in your desired state, without worrying about how you are going to get there.
Your ability to attract the results you desire depends on the vibration and energy of the
thoughts you are projecting. Focus with enthusiasm on your desired end result. If you want to
achieve a healthier weight, for example, there will be times when you think about “losing
weight” or “fighting the battle of the bulge”but bear in mind that this type of thinking keeps
you focused on the ‘problem’ or your current state. The creative power of your mind is much
less effective when directed towards the problem. Your brain likes to be inventive and to be
directed towards solutions.
Give as much thought as possible as to how you’re going to look and feel when you achieve
your ideal weight. Imagine yourself reaching your goal and notice the difference in your energy,
feelings and in the vibration of your thoughts. The power of your imagination is an incredible
tool that will attract to you everything you need to help you achieve your end goal.
Look where you want to go but don’t believe that you need to be able to see how you are
going to get there. The universe will work with you in ways that you can’t see or predict,
bringing to you people, resources or information that will propel you forward. There will not

likely be a straight line between your problem and the solution, just know that the path will
unfold beneath your feet with each step you take.

using the most powerful ally available to you, the power of your mind.
Activate and Generate!
The final step in achieving the health that you desire is to take inspired action in its direction.
The universe will do its part and line up resources, opportunities and solutions for you but it is
up to you to take the actions you are inspired to take. It could be following a new exercise
regimen, developing new eating habits, quitting smoking or trying a new health modality such
as acupuncture or reiki.
Taking action may seem like stating the obvious but it is all too often a step that is
overlooked. As it is not possible for you to see the entire journey that is going to take you from
where you are now to where you wish to be, it is all the more imperative that you take forward
steps along the way, knowing that you’re being fully guided by the hand of the universe. On
both an energetic and a physical plane, you need to keep your momentum moving forward.
Whatever actions you choose to take, be sure to maintain positive habits that are not only
consistent with your new vision of health but that are also in line with your beliefs. By following
a regimen that you have a strong belief in, such eating an organic diet or enjoying a daily yoga
practice, you accelerate your ability to manifest good health.
This is your journey so be sure to choose actions and practices that feel right and that will
work for you and your good health.
