1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW

CIREBELLE Beads are effective mechanical exfoliators. The smooth, spherical beads ensure gentle exfoliation and can be used daily. Exfoliation helps the skin look smooth, even and radiant, whilst imparting a softer and supple feel. These benefits are achieved, since exfoliation removes the outer layers of dull, dead cells with a resultant increase in the desquamation (cell rejuvenation) rate.

CIREBELLE Beads have the added benefit that they enhance the visual attractiveness of your product. Selecting the ideal colour(s) and size allows the opportunity to match one’s formulation to a specific brand or theme.

2. MANUFACTURING PROCESS

CIREBELLE Beads are manufactured with extreme care to ensure consistent quality and purity. In order to maintain the high quality standard, CIREBELLE Beads are subjected to 5 production steps before finally being packed:

2.1 Blending and Dispersion

The applicable ingredients are blended together and the pigments dispersed carefully in a temperature controlled vessel. Care is excercisednot to expose sensitive ingredients to conditions that could affect their stability or potency.

2.2 Micronisation

A technologically advanced process is used to form the spherical particles in the required particle size.

2.3 Classification

This is a quality assurance step and ensures uniformity of the particles.

2.4 Air Aspiration

This process was developed to remove from the bulk any particles differing in either form or density.

2.5 Sorting

Each kilogram of product is hand sorted as a finalcheck and approval step. Colour, uniformity and overall resemblance are compared to a standard. Based on the extent of deviation, products are either rejected or rerouted to one of the previous steps.

3. STABILITY AND FORMULATION

PROPERTIES

CIREBELLE Beads are chemically stable and are compatible with all common cosmetic raw materials and are not affected by pH extremes normally found in cosmetic formulations. Testing for robustness in various formulations has shown complete stability with regard to colourfastness and bleeding of colour.

CIREBELLE Beads can be incorporated into emulsions, gels or surfactant / gel bases, provided that a rheology modifier is used to keep the particles suspended. Examples of rheology modifiers include Veegum, Bentone, Carbopol andXanthan gum.

The high melting point (100 ºC) of the beads allow for their incorporation soon after production of the emulsions.

MANUFACTURING METHOD

A Heat water up to 80ºC and disperse Veegum HV using a high shear mixer.

B Add all ingredients and mix well.

CCharge all ingredients into another pot and heat up to 80ºC. Mix until all solids are melted. Add oil phase (C) at 80ºC to water phase at 80ºC (A+B). Mix with high speed for 10-15 minutes.

D Add Sepigel 305 and Silverson for another 5 minutes. Replace high shear mixer with counter rotating mixer and cool the bulk to 35-40ºC.

E Add beads mixing slowly but well.

F Pre-dissolve Germall 115 in water (clear solution) and add to the bulk. Mix well.

MANUFACTURING METHOD

A Heat the water up to 50-55ºC. Insert the Silverson and disperse Carbopol ETD 2020 polymer.

B Add all ingredients. Heat up to 70-75ºC and Silverson until solids have melted.

C In another pot add all ingredients from part C. Heat up to 70-75ºC and mix slowly until all solids have melted.Add oil phase (C) at 70-75°C to water phase (A+B) at 70-75°C while mixing with Silverson. Mix for 10-15min.Replace the Silverson with counter rotating mixer.

D Cool the batch to 35-40°C. Add ingredients from part D slowly.

E Add TEA concentrate and mix very slowly.

MANUFACTURING METHOD
