Welcome back to school! What a fabulous week it was to have all students and staff on site – the school was abuzz with excitement! The smiles as the children and teachers walked into school said it all and it is just wonderful to have everyone back. As students settle into their class and school routines, our focus has been on wellbeing. During remote learning, the scale of what was achieved by students, parents and carers and teachers was outstanding. Whilst this doesn’t capture the whole story, some of these achievements can be seen in our data below. The community came together as one to allow the continuity of learning for students. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers, our essential workers and those working from home, for their efforts throughout the period of remote learning. I would also like to thank our teachers and staff for their dedication, commitment and care. This collaborative effort is one to be very proud of. It seems apt that today we celebrate World Teacher’s Day. A day to recognise our teachers for the incredible contributions they make to students and to thank them for the important work they do. It is a privilege to work with such dedicated people who inspire, encourage, and support our students every day. I would like to thank the P&C for organising a delicious morning tea for our teachers this week in appreciation and acknowledgment of all that they do. Save the date: 7pm, 16 November is the next P&C meeting. This meeting will include the Annual General Meeting. Kindergarten have been so happy to be back at school with all their
friends. They jumped right back into learning! Here they are being
scientists, builders, readers and writers!
Welcome to Term 4, Students are delighted to be back in the library
and borrowing once again! A big thank you once again to the P&C for their generous donation towards quality literacy. On the right you will find a sample of the texts we have been able to purchase as part of our library collection.
Term 4 Library days
Students can borrow and return books during their weekly library lessons. Books can also be returned via the returns box just outside the library before or after school. For students in K-2, please remember to bring a library bag on your library day if you wish to borrow books.
‘Children’s Week’ with Australian Children's Laureate,
Ursula Dubosarsky
Students in Kindergarten and Year 1 enjoyed joining in with story time. Ursula, is an award winning children's author, who
read her new book, 'The March of the Ants’.
Students and teachers embraced her message which encourages a love of
literature and reading.

Intention to apply for Year 7 placement in a selective high school in 2023
Year 5 Parents and Carers,
Selective high schools cater for academically gifted students with high potential who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates at their own academic standard. Selective high schools help these students to learn by grouping them with students of similar ability, and by using specialised teaching methods.
If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2023, you need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the student’s email address).
Detailed instructions on how to apply and the link to the online form are found here - https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-7
Here is the direct registration link: https://shsoc.education.nsw.gov.au/
Applications opened on the 19th October 2021 and close on 17th November 2021.
The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 10th March 2022.
You must submit ONLY one application for each student.
Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
