1 THE ROTARY CLUB OF SANTA MARIA Laura Mohajer 2011-2012 President “THE ROTATOR” EDITOR: FRANK CULLEY [email protected]SEPTEMBER 20, 2011 Sponsorships are a substantial and important part of the Income of our November FunRaiser. It is true that Tahir is the head of the Sponsorship committee and Tahir does have some help; but that does not mean that he is the only club member that can sell Sponsorships. Each and every one of us come in contact almost daily with business associates and friends. Why not give these folks a copy of our “FunRaiser Sponsorship Flyer” and ask them if they would like to take this opportunity to support Rotary in our effort to help and provide service to others less fortunate than we. Don’t overlook the fact that we will share a great meal, an open bar, par- take in great live and silent auctions and then dance to one of the best Rock N Roll Bands around. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that depending on the level of Sponsorship, they will have their company or business name shared in print or possibly on the radio & TV. How could we not give them an opportunity to consider being a Sponsor. Just talk to your friends or business associates and let them decide. You and they will be glad you mentioned it. Inciden- tally there is the potential tax deductibility thing also as they will be giving to a 501c3 charity. Oh, and did I forget the FUN? After all fun is the first word in FunRaiser. Our event is fun, lots of fun. Just give them the flyer, talk about it briefly and let our event sell itself. If you don’t ask, they can’t say yes. So lets all do something different this year. Lets all incorporate this in our daily lives for the next month and lets make this one of the best years ever. I’m sure you all remember that September the 27th will be my last Rotator. Someone needs to step up and do this rewarding job as it is a requirement in our Continuing Resolutions. I have mentioned that I will be willing to help out for a while to make the transition easy and smooth. The best situation would be for two people to work together. That way it is a piece of cake. Heck, if I had had some help, even with the upcoming Presidency, I probably would have never even thought about stepping down as Editor. Being the Editor of The Rotator is rewarding and has been fun. One person can do it fairly easy but two would make it a snap. Just as we are “this close” to eliminating Polio, we are also “this close” to having two more Master PRLS graduates in our club. Keep it up Laura and Tahir, you are almost there.
