The Forum and its strong network has been functioning since 1990 under the aegis of SCOPE, to promote the growth and development of women in PSUs. At present 83 Central PSUs and Nationalised Banks are Corporate Life members of WIPS and about 15,000 women employees of PSUs across the country are Individual Members. (List of Corporate Life Members as on 1.12.2017 is attached as Annexure-I). We are delighted to share with you that the Forurri has come a long way since its inception and has crossed many milestones with the full fledged support of various public sector enterprises, banks, members and efforts of all office bearers of WIPS.With 28 years of solid foundation, now the time has come to leverage the vast talent pool of women employees and position them deeper into the mainstream of the organisations. This can be done by providing more challenging opportunities to women employees for optimal utilization of their capability, potential and talent to make significant contribution to the organizations they work in, as the organizations prepare themselves to meet the challenges of a globalized world. Every year, a flagship event in the form of National Meet is organized b`y Forum of Women in Public Sector. The 28thNational C`onvention of the Forum shall primarily focus on "Women Leadership". The WIPS Conventions have largely examined women leadershipat various levels in the Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) from the perspective of organizational / institutional initiatlves and their consequences to re'ap the benefits for both women and organisations. This vital human resource with its committed attitude, collaborative approach, networking capability and creativity; who are already leaders in their own rights and driven by their own high goals; are contributingto organisation in achieving its goals and business targets. Today the talent, potential, excellence and ability of Indian women has got recognised worldwide in all walks of Society; be it Political, Judicial or Science and Technology or Corporate, Entrepreneurship, Social sector or Sports, Art, Culture, Defence and so on.They are always ready to accept any new challenge to prove themselves worthy of the confidence shown in them. This year's convention will seek reappraisal of the overall development of women at the intersection of reciprocal roles and responsibilities of the two key stakeholders namely, the women themselvesand the einployee organizations/institutions (CPSUs).Hence to enhance their power, maximise their potentials and sharpen their skillsets to navigate the workplace and lead from the front,the theme chosen is "Women leaders : Insight to Commitment, Creativity and Collaboration. This is also to inform that during this convention, as in the past National Meets, National level " Best Enterprise" and"Best Women Employee" shall be awarded.The details are:-
(I)Best Enterprises Awards will be presented to the best PSUs / Banks ln recognition of their commendable work donefor the development of women in their organizations. There are three broader categories of awards a) Maharatnab)Navaratna and c)Miniratna & other companies. The criferia for selection of Best Enterprise Award is attached withthis letter vide Annexure-11.
(11) Best Women Employee Awards will be presented to women employees who have contributed to their companyeither in the form of bringing recognition to the organieation or in considerable savings to their organization for the year2016-17.There are 2 broader award categories (1) Officer/Executive cadre (2) Staff/Nonlofficercadre, You arerequested to nominate maximum 2 outstanding women employees, one for each category, from your organizationaccompanied by a small brief of achievements along with their bierdata clearty bringing out reasons as "why thecompany feels the employee is the best".
Nominatiens sent / authenticated by the corporate office shall only be considered. However the eariier recipients of thisaward are not eligible for nomination again. The criteria for Outstanding Woman Executive / Non Executive Award isattached with this letter vide Annexure-ll I.

This year Eastern Region shall host the National Meet and we are expecting the partieipation of 700 delegates inthis conclave. The Delegate fee is Rs.1500/-per delegate. All members of the Central Governing Bocly (CGB) andExecutive members of the Regional Chapters (REB) Of the forum are free delegates.
