EVENT INFORMATION

I. DATE : 10th – 14 th July 2019

II. COMPETITION VENUE

Huamark Indoor Stadium , Sports Authority of Thailand, Ramkhamheng Road, Huamark, Bangkok 10240, Thailand

III. ORGANIZERS

This Championship will be organized by the Thailand Karate Federation (TKF) in conjunction with Sports Authority

of Thailand (SAT) and the Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF).

IV. SUPERVISION

The Championship will be supervised by the Organizing Committee (OC) of Thailand Open Karate-do Championship 2019, formed by the Thailand Karate Federation (TKF).

V. CATEGORIES

A : SENIOR

● Age: 18 and up (Born in year 2001 and before)

● Individual Kumite: Female: -50kg, -55kg, -61kg, -68kg, +68kg (3 minutes)

Male: -55kg, -60kg, -67kg, -75kg, -84kg, +84kg (3 minutes)

● Individual Kata: Female & Male (Age 16 and up)***Born in year 2003 and before

● Team Kumite: Female (3+1)

● Team Kumite: Male (5+2)

● Team Kata: Female & Male (Age 16 and up) ***Born in year 2003 and before

B : JUNIOR

● Age: Age 16/17 (Born between 1st January 2002 and 31st December 2003)

● Individual Kumite: Female: -48kg, -53kg, -59kg, +59kg (2 minutes)

Male: -55kg, -61kg, -68kg, -76kg, +76kg (2 minutes)

● Individual Kata: Female & Male

● Team Kata: Female & Male (Age 14-17)

C : CADET

● Age: 14/15 (Born between 1st January 2004 and 31st December 2005)

● Individual Kumite: Female: -47kg, -54kg, +54kg (2 minutes)

Male: -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, +70kg (2 minutes)

● Individual Kata : Female & Male

D : Under 14 (U14)

● Age: 12/13 (Born between 1st January 2006 and 31st December 2007)

● Individual Kumite: Female: -42 kg, -47kg, +47kg (1.30 minutes)

Male: -40 kg, -45 kg, -50 kg, -55 kg, +55 kg. (1.30 minutes)

● Individual Kata : Female & Male

E : Under 12 (U12)

● Age: 10/11 (Born between 1st January 2008 and 31st December 2009)

Individual Kumite: Female: -30 kg, -35 kg, -40 kg, + 40 kg (1.30 minutes)

Male: -30 kg, -35 kg, -40 kg, -45 kg, +45 kg (1.30 minutes)

● Individual Kata : Girl & Boy (10 years below can be participated)

VI. COMPETITORS

Each participating National Federation or Team/Club those get approval from their national

federation to participate in this event, may enter up to 2 male and 2 female competitors for Cadet,

Junior and Senior category of the Individual Kumite competition and the Individual Kata competition.

Each participating National Federation or Team/Club those get approval from their national

federation to participate in this event, can enter more than 2 male and 2 female competitors for

U14 & U12 Categories.

Each participating team/club may enter up to 2 teams for Team Kumite and Team Kata events.

Each individual event/category must have at least 4 participants. Failing which, the event/category will either

be scrapped or combined with another event/category.

Every competitor attending this event should submit both Entry forms A and B, also others documents by the

given date.

VII. SAFETY EQUIPMENT; THE FOLLOWING PROTECTIVE IS COMPULSORY;

WKF approved Gloves, Gum shield, Body protection plus Chest protector (for female), Shin pad and Foot

protection. All contestants must provide their own WKF-approved protective items. The OC is not in charge of

providing these items to all athletes. Groin Guards are not mandatory but if worn must be of approved WKF type.

VIII. RULES

WKF Rules; the tournament shall be conducted in accordance with WKF Rules of competition effective from

1.1.2019

Duration of Bout for Senior; Kumite match will be 3 minutes for male & 3 minutes for female.

Duration of Bout for Cadet & Junior; 2 minutes in all cases for Kumite.

Duration of Bout for Under U14 & U12 years; 1.30 minutes in all cases for Kumite.

IX. REFEREES

TKF would like to request that every participating country recommend at least 3 AKF or WKF judges/referees for

this event. All qualified personnel will immediately be in charge as the event’s referees. TKF will provide daily

allowance, lunch and accommodation for all eligible referees.

● Technical Delegate : subject to be officially approved by AKF.

X. EXPENSES

ENTRY (PARTICIPATION) FEES

Individual Categories : US$60- per person for each category

Team Categories (Up to 2 teams per country) : US$100- per team

PRIZE COMPETITION:

1: Senior : Individual Kumite (Prize will be given to the popular category which has most athletes)

The most popular category of One Male & One Female

● 1st Place US$ 500

● 2nd Place US$ 300

● 3rd Place US$ 200

2: Senior : Team Kumite (Prize will be given to the winning team, 10 teams at minimum)

Male Team

● 1st Place US$ 700 per team

Female Team

● 1st Place US$ 400 per team

* If any participants request to change the competition category after drawing, the additional fee of US$ 50 will

be applied per category.

* In case of late registration payment, the additional fee of 10% will be charged.

* All bank service charges must be borne by payer.

XII. INSURANCE

All participants are to arrange for their own insurance. In case of any injury or accident occurred from the

competition, the contestant cannot claim any compensation from OC and TKF. However, OC will provide standby

nurse, doctor during competition and ambulance in case of emergency. Thus contestants are required to sign the Non-Liability Form. Parent/Guardian need to sign the form on behalf of their child/children under their care.

XIII. FIXTURE

A Team Manager Meeting and Draw will be conducted on 11st July 2019 at Aunchaleena Bangkok Hotel.

XIV. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE (OC)

The OC will host a Farewell Party for all participants on 14th July 2019

A. WEIGH-IN

Competitors in each category shall weigh-in on the morning of their respective competition days at competition

venue. The weigh-in shall begin at 08.00 hrs and close at 09.00 Hrs. of each day. Competitors who fail to make the weigh-in shall be disqualified. Late comers shall also be disqualified.

A.1 Weigh-in Attire

- Male competitors shall be weighed wearing only underwear. Female competitors shall be weighed in T-shirts

and karate slacks.

A.2 Weigh-in Supervisor

- The Technical delegate shall appoint at least (Two) referees to supervise the weigh-in each morning,

At the end of each weigh-in day, the two referees shall report to the technical delegate the result of the weigh-in and their comments, if any.

B. DRAWING OF LOTS

The drawing of lots will be conducted by technical delegate or his representative appointed by the Organizing -

Committee; the drawing of lots will be conducted by Sportdata Program. The participating teams are welcome to attend the draw.

C. NATIONAL FLAG & ANTHEM;

Please submit two national flags (1m x 1.5m) and 1 national anthem CD at the registration.

D. PHOTOS;

All participants (include contestants and non-contestants, not include observers) should provide two photos for posting up on their pass. Or scanning or photographing your photo and specify your name + surname on the FILE

E. LANGUAGE;

English is an official language used for this competition. We would recommend each team to have at least one person who can communicate in English.
