Context:- is the problem that has to be solved.Brief:- is what you will do to solve the problem.Specifications:- a list of things your product must fulfil. The specification list is what you will use to evaluate your product against when you have finished.
Context:Electrical products often break due to lots of small parts and fragile electrical components, these repairs can be expensive and often unnecessary as the fault is simply caused by a ‘blown fuse’.
Brief:To design and make an electrical device to test is a fuse is working that can be used by ……………………………..................................................................................………………………………………………………………………………...
What kind of people could use a fuse tester?
Why would they need it?
What will make them want your fuse tester?
Exploring the task
Use the information you have learned to write a list of specifications for your fuse tester.
Remember:- these specifications must match your design brief.
The fuse tester must:
Twist the parts together
Clean the tip of the soldering iron on a damp sponge
Tin the tip of the soldering iron with solder
Heat the 2 parts to be joined
Slowly push the solder into the hot area
Leave it too cool and harden.
The steps to soldering have all gotten muddled up can you put them in the correct order and match the sentences below to the correct picture?
Step 1.
label these components:

Teacher gives you your components
Drill Holes
Carefully solder component legs together
Are the components in correct place?
Is the solder joint secure?
Trim legs of soldered components with wire cutters
Wear goggles
Test your circuit and fault find
Completed circuit
B. Write down the two quality checks that are made.
