In addition, Symantec™ Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 provides unrivaled security and blazing performance across both physical and virtual platforms by reducing client size by almost 90%. The significant lighter client with a smaller memory footprint better fits embedded systems and VDI. We have also improved the System Lockdown feature by integrating workflow, making it easier to collect File Fingerprint list. Furthermore, it is integrated with the upcoming Symantec Advanced Threat Protection (ATP): Endpoint release. Symantec’s ATP product line is designed to detect, respond and block targeted attacks faster. This integration offers the ability to communicate directly with Symantec Endpoint Protetion clients so that any anomalous activity can be flagged and reported to ATP. 2. There is no direct migration between Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 and the Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows
XP Embedded 5.1. Symantec has ceased selling Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows XP Embedded on June 1, 2015.
The technical support services of the old 5.1 product will close on October 15, 2016. We would like to encourage those who

The Symantec™ Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 Management Console can manage all instances of Endpoint Protection 12.1.
Endpoint Protection 11 clients can be managed by the Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 Management Console. However, please note
that Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 has already been discontinued in January, 2015.

Endpoint Protection 12.1.6 supports VMware®, Microsoft® Hyper-V™ and Citrix® virtual environments, and provides VMware
vShield Endpoint Integration. For a full list of system requirements, please visit the product page, under "System

Yes. The product is integrated with VMware’s vShield through Virtual Image Exception, resource leveling and Shared Insight
Cache. For full security the product does require an agent in the virtualized client. However, optimization measures have
allowed Symantec Endpoint Protection to outperform agentless solutions as tested by PassMark.
