Sylacauga High School Future Business Leaders of America

FBLA Members: Sylacauga High School has once again had a fantastic year, elevating the future success of all our FBLA members. FBLA has made an incredible impact on Sylacauga by extending our philanthropic efforts all across the community. In addition, our participation in state and national programs allows our diverse group of members to succeed in every capacity possible. Sylacauga FBLA has determined that community service is a beneficial way members can elevate the future of their own success and the success of the Sylacauga community. We have greatly enjoyed participating in many service projects, such as contributions to the March of Dimes foundation through the photo booth and coin drive, volunteering for Sylacauga’s Promise School Supply Drive, the Sylacauga City Schools 5K Fun Run, March of Dimes March for Babies, Nemak Family Fun Day, Get Healthy Talladega County video series cur-riculum, Relay for Life, and more. We also have made contributions to the Alabama FBLA - PBL Foundation. To top off this fantastic year, Sylacauga FBLA successfully partnered with SAFE Family Services by creating their marketing plan and volunteering for community events within SAFE. This partnership bridged a gap between SAFE, a family resource center, and the rest of the community who can benefit from SAFE grants and current resources. Our chapter has been greatly involved in multiple state and national programs. Sylacauga FBLA completed the Chapter Challenge by participating in Super Sweeps, Non-Stop No-vember, and Action Awareness. In addition, we received the Diamond Chapter and Out-standing Chapter status. We participated in our state’s Blueprint for Success and Outstand-ing Chapter programs in addition to submitting two applications for the Alabama FBLA District Scholarship and the Who’s Who award. Sylacauga FBLA participated in a number of local, state, and national conferences where we built numerous business and leadership skills as well as broadened our connections with other chapters by networking at the District V workshop and the Joint Leadership Development Conference. On behalf of the 2017-2018 Local Chapter Executive Committee and Officer Team, I thank all 153 members for making Sylacauga FBLA a huge success. Without your hard work, motivating and determined attitude, diligence, and perseverance, we could not have accom-plished the abundant number of goals we set for this school year. I am extremely pleased and confident that Sylacauga FBLA will continue to elevate the future of our members and the rest of our community at the local, state, and national levels in years to come. Sincerely,

Ibby Dickson, President Sylacauga High School FBLA

In 2016, school renovations were completed when the auditorium, school gyms, locker rooms, soccer field, and football stadium were overhauled. In 2018, the renovations of baseball and softball fields and facilities were completed.

The total enrollment of Sylacauga High School is 669 students. The school serves grades nine through twelve with emphasis on STEM learning, Career and Technical Education, and Fine Arts.
