Sydney Sydney is the capital of New South Wales,

Australia. It’s the biggest and oldest city in the country.

History

Sydney was habited by Australian indigenous for at

least 30.000 years.

The traditional Indigenous habitants of Sydney Cove

are the Cadigals.

In 1770, British sea Captain Lieutenant James Cook

landed in Botany Bay on the Kurnell Peninsula.

Geography Sydney is located in the southeast of Australia, next

to the Bay of Jackson.

Geography The natural area has around 70 harbour

and ocean beaches, including the well-known Bondi Beach, famous for surfing.

Sydney has a subtropical climate.

Summers are warm, with mild winters and

heavy rains in springtime.

The hottest month is January.

Important Facts

In 2000 the Olympic games were celebrated in Sydney.

It’s one of the most multicultural cities in the world and it’s

the most expensive city in Australia.

Sydney receives about 3 million tourists a year. The most

well-known attractions include the Sydney Opera House

and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Sydney Opera House: Is an opera built in front of the sea.That's another Australian icon. In this opera, a lot of people goes every day to see the different shows are represented, like an opera, ballet or theater plays. At night, the opera is lighted of a lot of lights. That's a very beautiful moment.

Botanic gardens: It's near of the centercity, and in the east of opera house. It's free of access and It's opened every day of the year.

Sydney harbour bridge: Sydney harbour is the most famous bridge wich runs along of the sea. In this bridge, the cars cross going to Sidney city, but you've got to pay to get.

Bondi Beach: Is one of the most famous beach in Sydney . Bondi, an Aboriginal world, it means “water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over rocks”.

Hyde park: Hyde park is the most big park in Sydney. It's

located in the west of the city. It contain about 580 trees. There are a lot of vegetetion.
