OctopusHand MixerOVERVIEW

The overall objective of this project was to design a hand mixer that matched the brand identity of our company Fisher-Price.

This meant creating a product that would be appealingto their target audience and usable by adults and children. After a long process of research and testing, we found out that 2 functional attachments and a form that flowed with the handle would match their target audience. Finally, it must be comfortable and have a low impact onthe hand, wrist, and arm. By analyzing the handle angle,shape, and materials we concluded a final product.

Cause:Wrist bended by holding the mixer in P1 strains a tendon in wrist/forearm and chokes the blood supply tothe ulnar nerve inside your wrist.Symptom: Numbness, tingling in thewrist and forearm.Chronic Problem: Difficulty in liftingand holding.

Solution:While the handle of mixer in P2 is placed verticallyon the mixer, the mixer in p2 isable to be held comfotably withoutstressing the arm and wrist muscles.

The hand grasp measurements of U.S. average men, women, and children was considered for the universalOctopus mixer handle thickness.

Aurora is a watch developed for a project that redefined the brand language ofAlienware. This project was completed in the fall of 2010.

My design was inspired by color harmony of Alienware computers that is characteri-zed by black/silver and red, black/silver and blue basically and the body shape of Alien-ware’s desktop ‘ Aurora’.

To make a ubiquitous kitchen, that is part and parcel of every home, an experience in itself. I have designed a concept kitchen that is an innovative solution for compact urban homes.

The kitchen unit comes complete with all the needed pieces of equipment. The unit features an induction cooktop, two fridge drawers, a sink, a trash compactor, a microwave, a dishwasher, three cabinets, an oven, a beverage cooler, and a meal table.

The kitchen unit even features a built-in double sided touchscreen that would appeal to the people who enjoy entertainment such as an internet, TV, and Mp3’s during cooking time or meal time. In addition, there are three sensors that detect your movement on the touchscreen to provide you with the ability to watch TV or movies comfortablely in any position by the screen moving and following you automatically.

In this futuristic and very realistic kitchen concept, all the tasks have been simplified and put together to save your precious space. The boxy shape allows for an easy movement and a matchable structure to any urban home.

The kitchen unit features a built-in touchscreen counter-top for entertainment so thatyou can enjoy internet, TV &Mp3 music during cooking& meal times.

Meal Table is able to go in & out with pressing the meal tablebutton on the integrated touchscreen.

All built-in kitchen appliences are controled by integratedtouchscreen. By pressing buttons on integrated touch-screen, the built-in kitchen appliences are able to move in& out or lift up & down.

Three action sensors that catch your move-ment on the touchscreen provide you with the ability to watch TV or a movie comfortablely in any position by having the screen and followyou automatically.

The induction cooktop surcface remains cool tothe touch since only the pot is heated. In addition, there are no open flames, smoke, or gas emissions making this an extremely safe anda convenient portable cooking solution. It alsohas an automatic safety shut off feature for anadded element of safety.

The“home hub” concept uses a central device to connect all inputs associated with home entertainment and networking such as video, audio, internet, and gaming hard lines. It seamlessly distributes them wirelessly to the entire home, allowing any input to be accessed by any networked device. The video feeds are streamed wirelessly to a camera module. This module plugs into the TV and not only wirelessly sends and receives data, but also houses motion tracking cameras to provide for hands-free control of the system along with support for gaming. This network can be controlled by an application on a smart device or via the included touch screen remote.

The hub organizes all digital content wirelessly and is a platform for multitasking, data streaming, live broadcasting, video conferencing, and gaming.

Smart ControllerThe controller allows you to interact, customize, and multi-task with all of the devices that are connected to your hub. With the ability to have multiple controllers, the system can be accessed simultaneously by different users, each creating their own personalized experience.

The camera module contains 3D motion-tracking cameras and voice recognition technology allowing hands free video conferencing and gaming.

The module connects to the TV via hard line for power and data transfer. Then, it wirelessly relays that data while extending the home network and creating a WiFi hotspot.

The camera module sends and receives data between the hub, TV, and other camera modules within your house. It does this wirelessly to provide a seemless connection to all of the devices that are synced to your hub.
