2-0 Switch-disconnectors-fuse (SASIL) BS bolted fuse system Product family The SASIL system includes switch-discon- nector-fuses in accordance with IEC/EN 60947-3. Here, British Standard fuses are used as fuse- links. Their strip-type, push-in and modular design ensures a rapid engineering and easy installation in low voltage assemblies (TTA/PTTA). An operator-independent snap-action mechanism und double-break feature (upstream and down- stream of the fuse) pro- vide increased personnel protection during the functional switching and exchange of the fuse. The horizontal mounting method of SASIL strips with outgoing on right side allows a high packing density in switch gear cabinets. Naturally all SASIL strips can also be mounted vertically with cable termination on bot- tom side. The trans-formers can be wired up ei-ther internally on a measur-ing device or externally on apush-on terminal strip. Alltransformers can be oper-ated open for an unlimitedperiod of time.In the case of a cable infeed(Z version), the transform-ers are installed „back tofront“ (turned through180°).
MEASURING DEVICESIt is possible to use 48mm x48mm measuring devicesas class 1.5 moving iron cur-rent meters. They have adial with 2-fold overloadarea.

The SASIL system accesso-ries allow a wide range ofswitchgear cabinets to beprepared for easy fitting ofSASIL switch-disconnector-fuses.Simple profiles and coversdivide the cabinets into de-vice, busbar and cablecompartments.

Product construction
SWITCHING CABINET PRO-FILE KITThis kit is required for theexpansion of switchgearcabinet systems whichhave not been prepared forthe fitting of SASIL compo-nents during manufacture.It consists of four sectionsand serves as a base sup-port for all built-in compo-nents of the system acces-sories.
BUSBAR SUPPORTThe 3-pole type-testedbusbar support is used to
accomodate the field dis-tributor busbar system. It issuitable for flat copperbusbars with cross-sectionsof 40mm x 10mm to100mm x 10mm. The sup-port is fixed at theswitchgear cabinet usingfixing plates or fixing brack-ets. A special version withclosing plate for the bottombusbar support is alsoavailable.
BUSBAR COVERThe 150mm high busbarcover or cable compartmentcover is used for probe-safeIP20 separation of the cabi-net busbar compartmentfrom the device compart-ment and cable compart-ment. Thiscompartmentalization pro-vides increased personneland operational safety ofthe switching station andallows working while thesystem is energized.
BUSBAR DISCONNECTIONKITThe kit is used with lowvoltage assemblies, forsectionalizing the field dis-tributor busbars. It is in-serted in the busbar sup-ports SST-185/10010.
STRIP GUIDEStrip guides allow easymounting of the SASIL
strips in the switchgear cab-inet using their push-in de-sign. They enable the SASILstrips to be mounted whilethe system is energized.Each SASIL strip is securedwith four M5x20 screws(not included).The strip guide alsoaccomodates the socketconnector, cable separatorand closing lock-out.
CABLE SEPARATORThe cable separator kit isused for IP20 separation ofthe cabinet cable compart-ment from the device com-partment.
SOCKET CONNECTORThe 16-pole socket connec-tor is the customer terminalof the SASIL strips for con-trol and auxiliary circuit wir-ing. The independentmounting of the socket con-nector at the strip guidealso allows unequipped re-serve spaces to beprewired.

Product definition
The SASIL device mountingsystem extends the fusecombination system by an-other module. Mountingplates and device mountingmodules, available with orwithout voltage tap andwith various moduleheights ranging from100mm to 600mm, enablelow voltage assemblies tobe expanded as required.
Thus other devices such ascircuit-breakers, motorstarter combinations, mod-ular installation devices etc.can be positioned in thesame switchgear cabinet inwhich SASIL strips are fit-ted, which saves consider-able space in the cabinet.
Applications
The SASIL device mountingsystem is mounted in allcommercially availableswitchgear cabinets inwhich SASIL strips can bemounted. It allows SASILstrips, mounting plates, de-vice mounting modules andsupply modules to bemounted in the sameswitchgear cabinet andwith a common field dis-tributor busbar system. Thisenables a state-of-the-artmodular construction of
low voltage assemblies inaccordance with IEC/EN60439-1.
Product construction
MOUNTING PLATESMounting plates arescrew-fixed at the two rearswitching cabinet profiles.There are closed versionswith aperture for the volt-age tap kit and versionswith system holes (5.3mmdrill holes and 12.5mmspacing).
SUPPLY MODULEThe supply module allowsthe field distributor busbarsystem to be supplied. Theplug-in contacts are de-signed for rated currents upto 630A. Higher supply cur-rents require two or moremodules.
DEVICE MOUNTING MOD-ULEDevice mounting moduleswith integrated mountingplate are available for dif-ferent expansion versions.From a module height of200mm, they can be pro-vided with a voltage tap tothe field distributor busbar.The supplied guides alloweasy contacting of the fielddistributor busbar. Themodules are fixed at thetwo frontal cabinet profiles.
Prepared modules for mod-ular installation devicesand bus-mounting fuse-ele-ments are also available.
DEVICE DOORDoors for mounting platesand device mounting mod-ules are available withmodule heights of 100mmto 600mm. Versions withinspection window are alsoavailable. The doors arefixed at the frontal left cabi-net profile using the sup-plied hinges and are lockedusing a 3mm two-way keybit.
TERMINAL COMPARTMENTSEPARATORTerminal compartment sep-arators and flange platesprovide IP20 separation ofthe cabinet device compart-ment from the cable com-partment. Separators mustbe ordered separately withmounting plates, but aresupplied with devicemounting modules. Theyare fixed at the two rightcabinet profiles.
VOLTAGE TAP KITTwo kits for 100A and 630Aare available. The 100A ver-sion can only be mountedwith device mounting mod-ules, while the 630A ver-sion is also available formounting plates.
