Reception at the Sweeney.

Weddings are our speciality at the Sweeney - receptions are

held in our beautiful, elegant Netherton Room. From your

first enquiry to the last sip of champagne you will be in safe

hands with us on this, the most important day of your life. We

offer a very extensive menu to choose from as well as

specially prepared drinks packages. To make your Wedding

Day even more memorable we also offer the Hall for

exclusive use - please enquire about the details when booking.

To add the final touch, have your pictures taken in our Award

Winning grounds and capture memories that will last forever.

We are a small (but perfectly formed) Georgian Country

House Hotel within eight acres of award winning grounds.

We are perfectly placed for an elegant country wedding only

two miles from the market town of Oswestry and it’s

surrounding parishes.

We have ample seating for up to 72 guests. We have enclosed

a plan of the Netherton showing the various seating options

we have available. We can also cater for your evening

function for guests numbering up to 120 in the Netherton.

Here at the Sweeney we believe this is your day, and as such,

you should have the greatest choice possible when it comes to

deciding on your menu. And to this end we have written

menus with the flexibility to match yours and your guests’

needs. Upon booking a date for your wedding we would like

you to feel free to make an appointment, at your

convenience, to meet up with one of our managers, either

Sean or Nicki who will then sit down with you and discuss

your requirements and guide you through your special day.

Both of the managers have extensive first hand experience of

weddings here at the Sweeney and are only too happy to help

you in any way.

Along with the seating guide this pack contains copies of our

Menus, which include Starters, Main Courses and Puddings,

all individually priced for your convenience and an Evening

Buffet selection menu. We have also enclosed a list of

popular Drinks packages and a short page of answers to

frequently asked questions that you might find useful.

We also offer exclusive Use of the Sweeney so that once you

walk through our doors the Hotel is yours for the day - please

see further details for more information. We hope this

our hotel for your special day and if you would like an

have specially selected for their taste and quality.

We can also offer Canapés on arrival, these are 5 pieces

per guest charged at £4.25 per guest.

Exclusive Use...“Yours For Your Day”

Below are the requirements that have to be met when

reserving Exclusive use at The Sweeney Hall Hotel.

• A fee of £1500.00 is payable to gain exclusive use of

the Hotel and its Award winning gardens.

• All nine bedrooms must be reserved at Current

Rates. (Please note that the Bridal Suite is

complimentary).

• Minimum numbers of 50 Guests for wedding

breakfast and 100 for Evening buffet.

• A Deposit of £500.00 is necessary to confirm an

Exclusive Wedding reception, and will be deducted

from your final bill.

• If you take advantage of both our Netherton Room

and our Parkers Room then numbers can increase

from 72 for the day to 110 and the Evening “Doo”

can increase also from 120 to 160.

UsefulInformation...

Our maximum number for a seated Wedding Breakfast is 72.

Please refer to seating plans enclosed for layout options. This

number includes highchairs and children.

We have enclosed our wedding breakfast menus for your

perusal. Please choose two starters, one main course and two

puddings. We are only too happy to cater for special dietary

needs and vegetarians, please could you inform us of any

special dietary needs or vegetarian options when you finalise

your menu.

Our maximum number for an evening function is 120.

To celebrate your wedding in our Netherton Suite on a Friday

and Saturday we require minimum numbers of 50 for the day

function and 75 (100 if exclusive use) for the evening

function. NB We only cater for evening functions on a Friday

and Saturday if you have held your daytime function with us.

The above restrictions only apply to functions held on a

Friday and Saturday and we offer a 10% discount if your

wedding is held on a Monday to Thursday.

We hold a Civil Ceremonies licence for everyday including

Sunday. Our charge for a Civil Ceremony/Partnership service

is £165; this is to cover our licence. We do not book the Civil

Ceremony/Partnership - to book a Civil

Ceremony/Partnership please contact the Superintendent

Registrar on 0845 678 9016.

We have 9 individually styled bedrooms (8 doubles and 1

twin). We offer complementary accommodation to the Bride

and Groom. Should guests at your Wedding require

accommodation then a 10% discount will be given at current

room rates.

Included in the costs we supply red carpet on arrival, a

beautiful venue within stunning scenery and a co-ordinator to

help guide you through your special day. Also included is

room hire, which includes a square, silver cake plinth and

knife, paper napkins and all tablecloths and cutlery. If you

should wish for linen napkins we can supply these at the

current laundry costs. We also supply simple single stem clear

glass flower vases with a lilly at £5.00 per vase.

We can book a Disco for you, the current charges are from

£150 payable to the DJ on the night. If you do require a disco

please send separate confirmation.

We can advise on several excellent local florists.

We require a £250.00 non-refundable deposit as confirmation

of your Wedding Reception and £500.00 for an Exclusive Use

Wedding. We will hold provisional bookings for 14 days.
