1) Under the leadership of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sikh established a Powerful Empire he maintained friendly relations with the British after his Death the first Anglo Sikh war was fought the sequel defeated and areas of Beas and Satluj were annexed by the British after the victory of second Anglo Sikh war Punjab was annexed by the British.

2) Subsidiary alliance is a system developed by the East India Company Mainly by Lord Wellesley. Some of a subsidiary alliance were: ●An Indian ruler entering in to a subsidiary alliance with the British had to Accept British forces in his territory and also agreed to pay for their maintenance. ●In case of a conflict with any other state , the British would decide what to do, and he would accept their solution. ●IF the Indian rulers failed to make the payments required by the alliance, Then part of their territory was to be taken away as a penalty.

3) The system of Dual Government was introduced in Bengal by Robert Clive of British East India Company .It lasted from 1765 to 1772.Underthis system, the administration of Bengal was divided into Nizamat and Diwani. The Diwani was carried out by the company and the Nizamat by the Nizam. The system was abolished by Warren Hastings in1772 and Bengal Was brought under direct control of the British and the Nawabs remained As theme repensioners of the East India Company.

Ans.-Bengal was one of the richest provinces of the Indian sub continent it was known for its silk and textiles after the death of Aurangzeb the Mughal Empire became weak in 1756 when Siraj Uddaulah became the Nawab of Bengal he asked the company to remove all its fortifications in Calcutta the Company refuse to do so and decided to depose Siraj uddaula and inst all a Puppet Nawab in his place this lead to wars between British East India Company and Bengal. Ans- Lord Cornwallis reorganized the police system. Each District was placed under the superintendent of police. It had many Thana aur Police Stations. Ans-The British army in India consisted largely of Indian soldiers.
