SWACHHTA PAKHWADA AT ICAR-DFR, PUNE The ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research is implementing Swachhta Pakhwada from 16- 31 October, 2016. During the period 17-22 nd October, 2016 several cleanliness activities were initiated. At the outset, on the 17 th October at 10.30 AM, all the Scientific, Administrative, SRF’s and Young Professional-I of the Directorate have taken Swachhta Pledge and then conducted cleanness drive in and around the campus. The following cleanliness measures were adopted from 17-22 nd , 2016 Weeds in the institute premises were uprooted. All the stones and bricks were collected. In the administrative section routine cleaning work has been done. Staff working tables and room floor were cleaned. Removed the debris from the glasshouse; cleaned the floor with water and also cleaned the glass house structure. On 21 st October. 2016, visiting VIPs were also involved in cleanliness programme. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Honorable Secretary, DARE and Director General of ICAR; Dr. Janakiram, ADG (Hort. Sci.-II), ICAR; Dr. K. D. Kokate, Director Extension Education, MPKV, Rahuri; Dr. Jai Gopal, Director, ICAR-DOGR, Rajgurunagar; Dr. S. K. Sharma, In-charge, ICAR-IARI (RS), Pune; Dr. K. N. Bhilegaonkar, In-charge, IVRI (RS), Pune and Dr. K. V. Prasad, Director, DFR, Pune along with all the staff of DFR and IVRI (RS) involved in cleanliness programme. Adjoining area of the institute ie College of Agriculture Campus, MPKV were cleaned; all the unwanted grasses were removed with help of spade; all plastic and bottles were collected and disposed off. Swachhta Kits were also distributed to housekeeping staff by DG, ICAR.
