1. About SKIT:-
Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management &
Gramothan (SKIT), inspired from the learnings of Swami Keshvanand,
was established in the year 2000 by Technocrats and Managers Society
for Advanced Learning. Today, the Institute is recognized as one of the
centers of academic excellence in Northern India. The Institute is
affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota for offering Ph. D.,
Postgraduate and Graduate Courses in Engineering and Management.
Our sister institution Swami Keshvanand Institute of Pharmacy (SKIP)
is affiliated to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences for offering
Graduate Course in Pharmacy.
Located in the Pink City Jaipur, which is a blend of traditional history
and modern outlook, SKIT is putting in efforts for making industry
ready engineers and managers through effective Industry –Institute
Interface. Apart from University curriculum, SKIT also pursues
activities for research and development in various fields.
The green landscaping, aesthetic elegance of arches and the vibrant
pursuit of knowledge by the young aspirants make the environment
serene, pleasant and dynamic.
Students joining the institute share the box full of opportunities
for professional and personal development through an environment of
practical orientation, industrial interaction and student led activities
which help the students to develop good communication skills,
integrated personality and greater competitive spirit.

Swami Keshvanand, an orphan, illiterate, nomadic man who never
received formal education, was the founder of more than 300 schools,
50 hostels and innumerable libraries, social service centers and
museums. Swami Keshvanand had a deep understanding of the rural
society of the desert region. He had explained the peculiarities of the
desert region, identified the problems and suggested appropriate and
logical solutions. It was Swami Keshvanand‟s lifelong endeavour to
eradicate social evils like untouchability, illiteracy, child marriage,
indebtedness, poverty, backwardness, alcohol abuse, moral dissipation
etc.

12. Day 1: Swachhata Pakhwada Inaugurated at SKIT on 16.01.20:-
The Abhiyan was formally initiated by Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pachhar,
Principal on 16.05.2017 at Institute auditorium with the oath of
cleanliness by the employees of the institute. It was envisaged that such
activities will help to make the environment clean and keep us healthy.
An appeal was made to keep the office and colony premises clean to
avoid incidences of diseases. The committee constituted was given a
responsibility to start a campaign for cleanliness across all the places in
institute such as class rooms, offices, labs, mess, hostel, etc. It was also
felt necessary to start the awareness campaign for villages adopted by
the institute or in vicinity of the institute. This will help in spreading the
importance of cleanliness.

13. Day 2: Plantation on 17.01.2020:-
SKIT family is actively involved in tree plantation programme since its
inception. Every important program concludes with a tree plantation
drive by guest. Every year during monsoon a huge drive for tree
plantation is conducted by SKIT which helps in increasing the greenery,
maintains soil quality, and keeps the climate healthy.
In this series a plantation drive was conducted under the Swachhata
Pakhwada, a 15 day cleanliness program. Several trees were planted
across the SKIT campus by the faculty members and the students. The
aim of this drive was to spread awareness regarding the importance of
trees and the necessity to plant them.
Under the guidance of ECA chief coordinator Kailash Soni the drive was
conducted on 17th
January 2020. Prof. NK Banthiya, Head (PAQIC),
Dr. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Head (CSE) and other staff members graced
this event with their presence. Many students enthusiastically
participated in the plantation drive.

14. Day 3: Presentation for Waste Recycling, Energy Conservation
on 18.01.2020:-
Activities are the form of relationship designed to nurture personal and
professional development of an individual.
During the Swachhata Pakhwada, presentation and group discussion were
conducted on 18th of January on the topics like, waste recycling and energy
conservation. The objective of this program was:-
To introduce the merits of waste recycling and energy conservation.
To promote ways to recycle waste material. To nurture character traits like team discussion and management. To serve as a positive role model.
This program was conducted on Waste Recycling and Energy
Conversation. The following points were discussed:-
What is waste recycling? The process of converting waste
materials into new materials and objects. It is an alternative to
"conventional" waste disposal that can save material and help
lower greenhouse gas emissions.
What is Energy Conservation? The effort made to reduce the
consumption of energy by using less of an energy service.
Benefits of Waste Recycling
Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and
incinerators.
Conserves natural resources such as timber, water and
minerals.
Increases economic security by tapping a domestic source of
materials.
Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw
materials.
Saves energy.

Reduces Living Expenses. Saving energy usually reduces living
expenses.
Benefits the Environment And Protects Wildlife. Less
consumption benefits the environment and protects wildlife. ...

We discussed the impact of waste recycling and energy conservation
on environment. Through this discussion the participants got an insight
and awareness on waste recycling and energy conservation.

15. Day 4: Competition Regarding Swachhata on 20.01.2020:-
The role of the activities may be perceived to be facilitative, supportive
and developmental for the student community.
During the Swachhata Pakhwada poster making, slogan writing and speech
competitions were conducted on 19th of January on the topic Swachhata.
The objective of this program was:-
To introduce the merits of cleanliness.
To promote ways to a clean environment.
To nurture character traits like team work and leadership.
To serve as a positive role model.
Every day 5000 people die due to pollution. Students, by using posters,
showed the reality of today‟s environment and also showed how to make a
clean and healthy environment.
Students presented speech enthusiastically and slogans were also delivered
by students showing their awareness towards environment.

16. Day 5: Campus Cleanliness Drive on 21.01.2020:-
The Swachhata Abhiyan was planned at various place of institute like
entry gate of water treatment plant, bus stand, temple premises and
security section. Teaching, non-teaching staff members and students of
the institute helped in cleaning the premises. Waste and useless items
found in the area were identified and removed. The area was completely
cleaned. Extra grasses were removed.
It was decided to practice the regular cleaning of the area. Awareness
was spread among the staff, students and guards about the cleanliness
and its importance in practicing sound life.

17. Day 6: Competition Regarding Water Conservation on
22.01.2020:-
During the Swachhata Pakhwada poster making, slogan writing and speech

conservation. The objective of this program was:- To introduce the merits of water conservation. To display damages in water and death due to water pollution. To promote ways to conserve water. To nurture character traits like team work and leadership.
To serve as a positive role model.
Every day 3600 people die due to polluted water. Students showed
reality of today‟s environment and ways to conserve water by making
posters.
Students presented speech enthusiastically and slogans were also
delivered by students showing their awareness towards water
conservation.

18. Day 7: Talk on Swachhata by Mr. Vishnu Lamba (Tree Man)
on 23.01.2020:-
During the Swachhata Pakhwada, a Motivational Talk by Mr. Vishnu
Lamba (The Tree-Man), Brand Ambassador of “Green Army”,
Maharashtra Government, was delivered at Gyan Mandir auditorium on
23rd
of January. Mr. Lamba is also a recipient of Rajiv Gandhi Award,
Green Idol Award, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Nation building, etc.
The program was inaugurated with the Saraswati vandana and lamp
lighting by the Chief Guest Mr. Lamba, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pachar
(Principal), Dr. Rohit Mukharjee (in charge B.Tech. first year) and Dr.
Sharda Soni (Head of Chemistry Department). After the formal
welcome, Mr. Lamba put his views on the importance of swachhata,
plantation and environment conversion.
The Tree Man motivated our young generation for planting more and
more trees and ways to save our earth. He promoted leadership and
unity among students and made them aware about the reality of life.

19. Day 8: Competition regarding Forest conservation on 24.01.20:-
During the Swachhata Pakhwada poster making, slogan writing and speech

20. Day 9: Hostel Cleanliness Drive on 25.01.2020:-
A hostel is usually used for the residence of students and travelers in
some countries, but especially in our country, the hostel is a residential
place for hundreds of students of the universities and colleges. No doubt,
the student has to take care about the cleanliness of the hostels. In our
country, the hostel contributes a lot to the academic excellence of
students.
During the Swachhata Pakhwada, a cleanliness drive was organized at
our hostel rooms by students themselves on 25th
of January. They
cleaned their rooms and set it in a proper way. After the college hours,
all students helped in cleaning the rooms, common area, waiting area,
main gate of hostel, etc. Waste and useless items found in the area were
identified and removed. All the area was completely cleaned.
All the students felt happy in contributing to the drive and promised to
keep their rooms neat and clean regularly.

21. Day 10: Competition on “Best out of Waste” on 27.01.2020:-
Under the Swachhata Pakhwada a competition was held on “Best out of
Waste” in the campus for all students.
The students were allowed to bring their model / poster on their idea for
bringing out best out of waste. The concept for the event was to create
awareness among the students.
The event started at 2:30 and entries were displayed. All the entries were
based on the idea of reusing the waste items and creating some useful
out of it. Entries were creative and were judged on the idea of creating
best out of waste.
Students were made aware of reducing the waste and to increase the
culture of three R‟s Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.

22. Day 11: Water Conservation Drive on 28.01.2020:-
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) Cell of SKIT organized a 15 days
awareness program on cleanliness and water conservation
“SWACHHATA PAKHWADA”. The programme had 15 different
activities which were related to the cleanliness and conservation of
water. On the 11th
day we had water conservation drive.
Without water, life is not possible on the earth. We totally rely on water
for public health and equitable progress. It is essential for food and
energy security, and it underpins the functioning of industries. Our Club
Members took the vow and accepted the challenge to make the people,
understand the importance of water conservation. For this purpose, the
student visited the water treatment plant of SKIT campus. They were
told about different methods of water conservation with special
reference to water reuse & water purification. A quiz contest was also
conducted among the students relating to different water issues in the
area. The quiz contained the question relating to methods of purification
of water. They were also asked about their suggestions on how water
conservation and its purification process can be improved.

23. Day 12: Village Activities at Dantali Gram on 29.01.2020:-
In Swachhata Pakhwada, SKIT organized an “Awareness Programme”
in the nearby village Dantli. Villagers including women also participated
in a great number.
The meeting was organized at the vishram sthali and importance of
“Swachhata” in day-to-day life was explained by the Sarapanch, Doctors
and other volunteers.
Several issues like water retention, waste disposal jointly with village
and Institute were discussed and plans were finalized.
A rally was arranged from the Panchayat Bhawan to centre of village
with Swachhata Slogans to make all the villagers aware of cleanliness
and ban of single use plastic. A nukkad natak, songs, poems and banner
were presented by the students for the same.
Some of the areas in the village were also cleaned and villagers were
suggested to dispose the waste properly. Health workers along with
other ladies, old and young people participated and agreed on the issues
and promised to keep the village clean.
A motivation session was conducted in the govt. school for awareness of
cleanliness, water conservation, forest conservation and ban of single
use plastic, etc. Students were very happy with the motivation talk.
Issues like cleanliness in and outside the home, personal hygiene,
importance of sanitation were discussed with children and women. The
programme was a great success in terms of sensitizing the people in the
village for keeping the community clean.

25. Day 13: Presentation of Village Activities on 30.01.20:-
Under the Swachhata Pakhwada, there was a presentation session held
on 30th
of January. In this session, a report was presented by the student
volunteers who participated in village activities on the last day.

activities, issues and solutions to solve the village problems. Some

26. Day 14: Prize/ Certificate Distribution by Mr. Harshit Verma,
Deupty Commissioner of Jaipur Nagar Nigam on 31.01.2020:-
As a part of the campaign for Swachh Bharat Swachhta Pakhwada
(CBSE), various activities were conducted inside and outside SKIT
campus to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness,
environment conservation and the ongoing cleanliness drive “Swachh
Bharat” started by our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
In the month of January, all the students and staff members of the
college took a Swachhta Shapath on the first day of the Swachhata
Pakhwada. English and Hindi Debates, Essay Writing Competition,
Painting Competition on 'Cleanliness and Environment conservation'
were conducted, where the students realised the importance of
cleanliness, as the role of college has been instrumental in realizing the
mission of Swachh Bharat. A rally was also organized to create
awareness about “Cleanliness and Environment conservation” at the
adopted village Dantli.
Thus, all the above activities were conducted by the students. At the end
of Swachhata Pakhwada a certification distribution ceremony was
organized on 31st of January.
The program was inaugurated with the Saraswati Vandana and the lamp
lighting by the Chief Guest Mr. Harshit Verma, Deupty Commissioner
of Jaipur Nagar Nigam, Dr. S.L. Surana (Director Academics), Dr.
Ramesh Kumar Pachar (Principal), Dr. Rohit Mukharjee (in charge
B.Tech. first year). After the formal welcome, Mr. Harshit Verma
explained the importance of Swachhata Pakhwada, plantation and
environment conversion. In this ceremony, certificates of various
categories were distributed to all the winners of different activities,
participants, volunteers, coordinators by the chief guest Mr. Verma, Dr.
S.L. Surana and Dr. R. K. Pachar.
During the ceremony, Dr. Nawal Kishor Jangid, Dr. Mukul Sharma, Dr.
Anurag Sharma, Ms. Sanju Choudhary, Mr Shubham Kumawat, Mr.
Neeraj Garg, Mr. Ganpat Singh Chauhan, Mr. Pawan Kumar Jain and
other faculty members were present.

27. Nukkad Natak at Albert Hall on 26.01.20:-
On the occasion of 71th Republic Day and the Swachhata Pakhwada, a
Nukkad Natak was organized at Albert Hall on 26th January on Swachhata
and Environment Conservation.
Nukkad Natak is a drama performed on streets to create social awareness
about many topics like education system, girls‟ education, child labour,
swachhata, environment, ban of single use plastic, etc. With a view to
raise awareness about the social issues mentioned above, Nukkad Natak
was staged at Albert Hall, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Two street plays on
„Swachhata‟ and „Environment Conservation‟ were enacted by students.
The objective of the activity was achieved as the participants were
successful in making the audience aware of the cleanliness and
environment conservation. The young actors were lauded for leaving an
indelible mark on the minds of the audience through their performance.
The entire event was a huge success and it portrayed the words
„environment conservation and cleanliness of land go in hand towards
the building of an ideal nation‟ beautifully.

28. Nukkad Natak at Gaurav Tower (GT), Jaipur on 30.01.2020:-
Nukkad Natak is a drama performed on streets to create social awareness
about many topics like education system, girls‟ education, child labour,
swachhata, environment, ban of single use plastic, etc. With a view to
raise awareness about the social issues mentioned above, Nukkad Natak
was staged at Gaurav Tower, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Two street plays on „Swachhata‟ and „Environment Conservation‟ were
enacted by students. The objective of the activity was achieved as the
participants were successful in making the audience aware of the
cleanliness and environment conservation. The young actors were
lauded for leaving an indelible mark on the minds of the audience
through their performance.
