Swachh Vidyalay Campaign under AAI CSR In response to the address to the nation by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, on 68 th Independence Day, that all schools in the country should have toilets with separate toilets for girls within one year and his call to the corporate sector to this national endeavour, Airports Authority India (AAI) has decided to contribute up to Rs. 34 Crore to realize this national goal under its CSR programme. Apart from the meaningful and passionate involvement of all AAI staff in the Swachh Bharat Mission AAI has set aside Rs. 27 Crore in FY 2014-15 towards the “Swachh Vidaylaya” Campaign. In total, 765 schools are identified to construct Toilets for Girls in Government Schools in 37 districts of India where AAI airports are present. These schools are identified from the data provided by Ministry of Human Resource Development. AAI shall undertake the construction of toilets with our in-house Engineering team and will maintain the toilets for a period of two years. In order to mark the beginning of the Swachh Vidyalay campaign, construction of 5 Toilets were started on 2nd October 2014 in Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Rajkot, Rajahmundry and Udaipur.
