Research reveals those in part-time womore likely to become stuck in low paWOMEN in low-paid employment are onaverage 47 percentage points more likely thansimilar men to be still in low pay after tenyears, according to new research publishedtoday by the CIPD, the professional body forHR and people development, in associationwith John Lewis Partnership.
The Pay Progression: Understanding TheBarriers For The Lowest Paid report, written
by Tooley Street Research, outlines the keycontributing factors associated with an indi-vidual becoming stuck in low pay.
The report, which categorises low payas those paid below 20 per cent above theminimum wage, shows evidence of a hugeincrease in the number of people on low paybetween the 1990s and 2010s.
In 2011, 24 per cent of all UK employeeswere in low pay, equating to about seven mil-lion people, compared to about 15 per cent ofemployees, four million, in the 1990s. Overthis period, on average, 19 per cent of people
in low pay remained stuck, 37 per cent wereable to escape low pay and the remainder,about 40 per cent, have cycled in and out oflow-paid work.
In depth analysis of those stuck in lowpay revealed that:l The majority of those in low pay are
women (64 per cent), and although this hasimproved since the 1990s (when women repre-
sented more than 70 per cent of the low-paidworkforce), the data highlights women aremuch less likely to escape low pay than men.l There is a strong correlation between

full time Telesales executive, working 37.5 hours per week.
The RoleWorking towards an individual sales target you will be expected to be
resourceful and self motivated. Sourcing and canvassing new clients tointroduce to our portfolio and in-turn being proactive and creative in finding
solutions to their advertising and marketing needs. This will run in sync with
the ongoing management of existing, established clients, ensuring they are
receiving the best possible value from our product portfolio. You will also beexpected to share best practices and new ideas with your peers within the
Telesales team with a view to formation of new marketing solutions for our
clients.
The Person
As a Telesales Executive you will need to be self motivated and driventowards achieving revenue targets. Confidence in working under your own
initiative is essential, although there will be occasions that you are required
to work on team projects.
Time management is key to this role, along with being able to adhere to
rigid deadlines. Previous sales and/or customer service experience could beadvantageous, although this is not an essential requirement as a comprehensive
training programme is in place. A good telephone manner coupled with
ability to communicate clearly and concisely is fundamental to this role.
The Package
In return the successful candidate can expect to receive:
A Basic Salary 14k
plus an additional uncapped bonus potential
