“We Mean Business”

Get Ahead in 2013—Energize, Capitalize, Explore

Following the success of the Home &

Business Expo in September, and after a

number of requests to hold a second

similar event in the Spring, the Chamber

is expanding its annual Health Fair.

The Health, Wealth & Lifestyle Fair will

showcase a wide variety of businesses

that can help with wellbeing,

personal finances and enjoy-

ing the attractions and bene-

fits of living in Southern Ari-

zona. This event will focus

on energizing your business

and your customers, on

helping clients capitalize

their assets and exploring all

there is to offer in Cochise

County.

The one-day Fair will take place at The

Mall at Sierra Vista, a high traffic location

which proved a big hit at the Expo.

And the good news is that this event will

be low cost to Chamber members—just

$125 for an 8’x5’ booth.

Once again, the Fair will be open to non-

Chamber members at a higher rate.

With nearly 50 vendors participating last

year, we expect that number to increase

with the expansion of this event, and

booths will be sold on a first come, first

served basis.

With the Sierra Vista Herald again acting

as a major sponsor, all vendors will re-

ceive free recognition through extensive

advertising in the lead up to Saturday,

March 2—so the sooner you sign up, the

more publicity your business

will receive. Additionally, the

Chamber is offering event

sponsor opportunities from

as little as $250. This is a

fantastic chance to attach

your business to a high pro-

file community event and

receive ongoing marketing

via the media, the Cham-

ber’s website (more than 5,000 page

views monthly), Vista newsletter, weekly

email blast, and more.

The Health, Wealth & Lifestyle Fair takes

place on March 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Booth space ranges from 8’x5’ to a lim-

ited number of 10’x10’ spaces. Chamber

members will be given priority if there is a

waiting list for booths.

Sign up online at sierravistachamber.org

For further details on vendor space and

sponsorship, call us at 458-6940.

Wow, where did 2012 go?

It has been an incredibly

busy 12 months here at the

Chamber and we can’t wait

to tell you all about it at the

Annual Membership Meeting

on January 24.

You should have received

your invites in the mail, so

please let us know if you will

be attending and register

online today, or call us.

Please note—this event now

starts at noon.

We have already hit the

ground running this year

with our plans for the 2013

Health Fair.

As you will have read on the

front page, we are excited to

be expanding this event to a

Health, Wealth & Lifestyle

Fair.

We received such positive

feedback from our Home &

Business Expo, following its

move to the Mall at Sierra

Vista, we wanted to offer more

businesses another chance to

market their wares.

So many of our vendors re-

ported doing good business,

with genuine leads, at the Expo,

and we hope this will be re-

peated at our March 2 event.

Health is a subject that affects

each and every one of us, no

matter the state of the econ-

omy, and if you are a part of

this industry then you should

be considering reaching out to

the public via this show.

Personal finances are always a

concern—more so during a

down economy—and there are

many out there looking for help

in this area.

Get ahead of the competition

and advertise your financially

related business to hundreds

of potential new clients.

With more people learning to live

on a tighter budget, local tourism

attractions, hotels and restau-

rants should be marketing to

those in their own backyard.

Staycations are more common

these days and Cochise County

has much to interest local

‘tourists’.

Don’t miss this chance to tell

them what you have to offer.

We know the majority of our ven-

dors like the fact that our trade

shows are just one day, and the

Health, Wealth and Lifestyle Fair

will be no exception.

And the low cost to Chamber

members—from just $125—

means an investment of less

than $21 for every hour the fair

will run, if you buy an 8’x5’ booth.

We hope you will consider being

a part of this high profile event.

Aegis named to "Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the US"

Aegis, a leading outsourcing services

provider and part of the global Essar

Group, was named one of the Best

and Brightest Companies to Work

For™ in the US by the National Asso-

ciation for Business Resources. The

program is awarded annually to the

companies with the highest quality

HR initiatives.

“Our rank among the best and bright-

est companies to work for is a testi-

mony of our drive to provide excep-

tional customer experience for our

internal as well as external custom-

ers,” said Sandip Sen, Global CEO of

Aegis, which has a location in Sierra

Vista.

Said Jennifer Kluge, NABR president,

“Our list of nationally recognized

companies has grown significantly

this year. This exceptional growth is a

testament to how important this des-

ignation is for companies that want

to have the best and brightest em-

ployees working for them. We are

proud to recognize and honor these

winning companies.”

The 2012 winning companies were

assessed by an independent re-

search firm which reviewed a num-

ber of key measures relative to other

nationally recognized winners.

They include compensation, benefits

and employee solutions; employee

enrichment, engagement and reten-

tion; employee education and devel-

opment; recruitment, selection and

orientation; employee achievement

and recognition; communication and

shared vision; diversity and inclusion;

work-life balance; community initia-

tives; and strategic company per-

formance.

The companies that have been rec-

ognized nationally as a Best and

Brightest Company to Work For™

were featured in the December

online edition of Corp magazine.

A marketing strategy is how you plan to use the resources available to you to build an on-going case that your business, products and services are the obvious choice for a narrowly defined ideal customer. If you accept this expanded view of marketing strategy then I would suggest you answer the following questions in an at-tempt to measure where your strategy stands today and where it could go if your understood and integrated it fully as your business model.

What about this job, work, or organization are you passionate about?

How does this business serve a higher purpose for you and your customers?

What value do you really bring that benefits your mar-ket in ways that your com-petitors wouldn’t dream of proposing?

What’s the dominant person-ality trait that you need your customers to associate with your business?

What does an ideal client look like?

What is the simple 10-word core message that explains and excites?

How will your market be-

come aware of your busi-ness?

How will your market come

to trust that you have the an-swers?

What are the revenue

sources that you can tap to grow this business?

Can you describe the per-

fect customer experience throughout your organiza-tion?

What resource gaps and constraints do you need to overcome to achieve your strategy?

What partnerships do you need to create in order to achieve your strategy?

What would the result of us-ing this strategy model to run your business look like?

13 Questions That Will Lead You To Your Perfect Marketing Strategy

Military Affairs Committee offers opportunity to promote to Fort Huachuca

The Chamber’s Military Affairs Com-mittee (MAC) is offering members the opportunity to not only promote

their busi-nesses to the military community, but to say thank you to those who help protect

our freedom. On February 22, Fort Huachuca will stage its Annual

Awards Banquet and local compa-nies are being asked to help fund some of the awards, as well as offer

gifts to the worthy winners. The honorees will each receive a sculptured American eagle and your business name could be on one of them as a sponsor for just $100,

which includes the cost of purchas-

ing and engraving each award. MAC is also seeking help with gifts, such as cards or merchandise, for the award winners, who will include Civilian of the Year, Sailor of the Year, Reserve Recruiter of the Year, Active Duty Recruiter of the Year, Marine of the Year, Instructor of the Year, NCO of the Year and Soldier of

the Year. Sponsors will receive recognition at

this prestigious event. The schedule has also been com-pleted for the regular monthly MAC luncheons, held the first Wednesday of the month at the Thunder Moun-

tain Activity Center on post. There will be eight luncheons during 2013, beginning February 6 at 11:30

a.m. Further opportunities exist for Cham-ber members to promote their busi-nesses at each of these events by donating gifts of each event’s award

dinners, as well as buying them

lunch. During the luncheon honorees re-ceive their gifts from community businesses, which can include gift certificates, gas cards, plaques and assorted small items to be placed in

a bag. There are up to four award winners at each luncheon and businesses can donate gifts monthly, or contrib-

ute for the entire year.

Sponsoring award winners’ lunches costs $150 for the calendar year and

must be paid in whole.

Both gift and lunch sponsors will re-ceive recognition in the monthly pro-gram. The luncheons are regularly attended by senior Fort Huachuca, City of Sierra Vista and business

leaders.
