Sustainability is key to the future of preserving and protecting large tracts of land in Africa. It is a combination of guests staying at our lodges, together with partnerships on various different levels, that enables us to pursue our vision.– Luke Bailes

SINGITA IS COMMITTED TO SAVING AFRICA’S WILDERNESS
We’ve been preserving African wilderness for the past two decades. Through an exceptional safari experience with 12 award-winning lodges and camps across South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, Singita is able to partially fund the protection and preservation of over a million acres of pristine land and existing wildlife populations, as well as helping to create economic independence within local communities surrounding the reserves.
Travellers choose to stay at Singita because of the expansive space and beauty of the reserves, limited guest and vehicle numbers, extraordinarily consistent game viewing and the exceptional care that is taken of each guest during their stay. When guests depart after a Singita safari, they are transformed for life, satisfied in the knowledge that they’ve made a contribution to the legacy of Africa.

CONSERVATION AS A WAY OF LIFE
Built upon a 100-year purpose to preserve and protect African wilderness for future generations.
Singita has been championing conservation in Africa from the very beginning with large-scale projects in wildlife management and protection, reserve and ecosystem integrity, sustainable tourism practices and community development.
Through a sustainable conservation model that helps balance tourism with conservation in all regions in which we operate, Singita’s ethos of
“touching the earth lightly” is no longer just a forward-thinking principle; it is imperative to our survival, and that of the land, wildlife and communities under our care.

The original inspiration for Singita Boulders Lodge came from the geometry of the ancient, weathered boulders and the natural curve of the river bed near the lodge. Its design takes its cues from nature, incorporating charcoal and copper colours, and textures of the surrounding landscape, reflecting the four elements of earth, fire, air and water. The lodge blends seamlessly with the shifting light, shapes and moods of the environment, providing a soothing sanctuary for world-weary travellers craving a connection with nature.

WEATHER AND TEMPERATURE
Best t ime to go on safari Southern Africa is a year-round destination. Traditionally the dry winter months (April to October) are best for game viewing, due to the shorter grass, lack of foliage and the absence of water which forces the game to concentrate around the remaining sources of drinking water. Annual rainfall, usually in the form of short afternoon thunder showers that clear up within an hour, occur from December to March. Many species give birth to their young around the start of the rainy season which is when the the bush comes alive with newborn animals.
Average Seasonal temperature ranges
Spring (Sept – Nov) Autumn (March – May)Low 20 °C / 68 °F Low 22 °C / 72 °FHigh 30 °C / 86 °F High 31 °C / 88 °F
Summer (Dec – Feb) Winter (June – Aug)Low 23 °C / 73 °F Low 18 °C / 64 °FHigh 38˚C/100˚F High 29 °C / 84 °F
The above temperatures are monthly averages.
The actual daily temperatures may differ from these.
