Step 1

I used this free survey making website ‘Survey Monkey’ in which then I would send out to my recipients through ‘tumblr’.

I asked many varied questions that would help me with producing my trailer, magazine and poster in this project.

Step 2

Finally after the recipients replied to the tumblr message to fill in the survey. The website allowed me to collect the responses and also identify the feedback from the questions as well.

Results

The most common films that came out from this question are ‘Kidulthood’ and ‘Boyz N the Hood’. This would be important to take ideas from since they contain a Black male protagonist, in which relates to the plot of my trailer.

Results

To most of the recipients, they preferred music as the good feature out of an urban drama film, then cinematography and costume/make-up and finally the setting with another suggestion of ‘storyline’.

Results

80% of the people answered this question preferred a male protagonist compare to the 20% of answers that are resulted to female. This could imply that male urban drama films are still seen as the most successful than a female urban drama film. For instance Boyz N the Hood > Sket.

In this question I used an image as an investigation for my recipients to assess and also for me to take on account of their opinions whether good or bad. To conclude, this poster ‘Juice’ happens to be an appealing poster for an urban drama film.

Within this survey here, I noticed to have a range of answers which could be easily grouped to sectors I would like to place each answer in. Though, to my collection Crime seems to be the most important thing in an urban drama film, then Comedy & a Social Realist theme, after Romance.This illustrates to that the audience are most focused on the conventions of Crime in urban drama films.

Same thing occurs here as well and it has resulted that Black & Mixed race actors are mostly seen in urban drama films, then next Caucasians, Orientals & Hispanics next but Asians, Europeans and others were voted the least.

This question was co-joint so that I have an understanding of their views on other urban drama trailers to help the production of mine. For example Sound and Effects are seen to be the high-quality things coming out of the trailers they’ve seen.

This survey is a verification and an comprehension of where posters/trailers/magazine covers of urban drama films are heard. This will also affect and comply how I should make my poster for instance, a bus-stop type or a subway type.
