DOBSON — It was a love affairthat began in their teens. But it wouldbe another 70 years before they tied theknot.
Curtis Marion and Colleen Hutchinstook part in a cake-cutting and bridalluncheon Feb. 22 at the DobsonNutrition site. They waited a long time.A very long time before they reunited.
Marion’s wife died in May.Hutchins’ husband died 14 years ago.Ironically, it was a phone call thatbrought them together. And the couplethought the Dobson Nutrition site wasthe fitting place to celebrate their newlife among friends.
But it wasn’t until last Septemberthat Marion telephoned Hutchins. Fourdays after their first conversation morethan 50 years ago, Hutchins andMarion went to a local restaurant. That’s where they rekindled theirromance. Marion had a wedding ringready a week or two before he pro-posed to Hutchins.
At a time when most people in their80s had long since retired, Hutchinsand Marion reached out to each other, declaring their wanted to live the restof their lives together.
