It might seem more appealing to purchase heavy equipment new
from the manufactur-er, but not every fleet manager can justify the
higher cost. Plus, not every business needs the latest and greatest
equipment to get the job done. As buyers look for ways to pur-chase
quality machines while saving money, the market for used heavy
equipment con-tinues to grow.
However, it can be nerve-racking putting your trust into a used
ma-chine, especially if you dont know what to look for. To minimize
risk, its important to care-fully review the equip-ment prior to
purchase. However, it doesnt have to be done in person. A good
online marketplace will provide detailed and guaranteed inspection
reports. The five areas that should be inspected and incorporated
into a report include:
1. Mechanical (engine, transmission, power train,
hydraulics)
Its important to be aware of any potential mechanical issues
upfront to save yourself from un-wanted future repair costs. When
the engine is turned on, look out for leaks, blowby or smoke.
Always check the steering and brakes to make sure they function
properly. Buyers should also be sure the machine operates properly
both forward and in re-verse. Unusual noises can mean there is a
problem with the engine or another vital part of the equipment.
Additionally oil analysis results can provide a good indicator of
the mechanical condition.2. Structure
Heavy use and abuse cause structural issues that will affect the
per-formance of a machine over time. Buyers should ensure the
equipment is structurally sound before purchasing. The main frame
and articulation joints of the machine should be in good shape and
free of excessive wear. All of the machines hardware should be
pres-ent and firmly intact with-out any patches, modifi-cations or
a lot of visible corrosion. 3. Cosmetic
While repairing cos-metic issues is not as ex-pensive as
mechanical and structural repairs, ideally you will not want a
ma-chine with more than the average amount of wear and tear. The
cab interior should have seats in good condition and glass should
be free of cracks. Ideally, paint should not be faded or chipped
and sheet metal or fiberglass should not be dented, damaged or
miss-ing. 4. Features or options
Before making a pur-chase, every buyer should consider how well
the existing features of a machine are suited for the tasks and the
opera-tors who will be using the equipment. For in-stance, with
trucks, buy-
ers should be aware of how many employees can drive an automatic
trans-mission vehicle versus one with a manual trans-mission.
Buyers will want to understand if different attachments can be used
on the equipment so that it can be used for different purposes.5.
Tires/Wheels, Drums
Wear and damage of the equipments tires and drums should not be
over-looked. Buyers can check drums scrapers for proper adjustment
and look for wear on the cleats of pad-foot rollers. Drum seats
should not leak and the rubber pads on the inter-nal drum frame
should be intact.
It is critical that buy-ers spend the time at on-site auctions
inspecting the equipment in detail as the responsibility falls on
them to make sure they are buying quality equipment. This can be
difficult because space and time can sometimes be too limited to
see the equipment from all angles and test certain parts and
features. Buyers can also easily miss something that a skilled
inspector with ample time would catch. Thus, buyers may base their
purchase on what they see and what is told to them, rather than
actual tests.
Online auctions al-low buyers to learn more about the equipment
compared to physical auc-tions. They also eliminate the time and
expense necessary to travel to an auction. The ideal online
marketplace will provide detailed and guaranteed inspection reports
that protect the buyer if the machine is not in the con-dition
reported.
Ultimately, the goal is to avoid making an unin-formed purchase
and get-ting stuck with a machine that doesnt perform as you hoped.
By making sure the five inspection areas above are covered and
choosing the type of auction that best fits your needs, youre more
likely to be satisfied with the equipment and the money youve
invest-ed. bBy Paul Hendrix, Equipment Pricing Analyst,

Simple to maintain and easy to change thanks to the

Extra large tungsten carbide face oers maximum

resulting in reduced downtime.
Work has progressed at the new Fred Couples-designed Whiskey
Jack golf course and subdivision in Sparwood, British Co-lumbia,
Canada. Bearspaw Contracting Inc., from Elkford, was busy
hand-pouring foundations and driveways when one of the project
developers ap-
proached Leonard Gostick, President of Bearspaw, and asked him
if he knew of anyone who could slip-form the 5.5 kilometers (3.4
mi) of curb and gutter and monolithic sidewalk with curb and gutter
on the project.
I jokingly told him I had done it before as a la-
borer and he dared me to go buy a machine and hed give us the
contract, Gos-tick said. You know con-crete guys have a bit of an
ego... So, we did.
They shook hands and then Bearspaw started the search for a curb
and gut-ter machine. The company asked for advice from es-tablished
slipform contrac-tors, a friend at an equip-ment distributor,
Chieftain Equipment Inc., and looked at everything they could find
on the Internet.
We spent probably 24 hours a day for two weeks nonstop online,
Gostick said. We looked at every-thing possible to see what bang we
could get for the buck, what would be most versatile, and what
would do what we wanted to do. Plus size of the machine...
something big enough, but at the same time something we could also
use to work on the little projects.
Their search led them to the Gomaco three-track Commander III.
The Com-mander IIIs size allows them to slipform on any size
project, and its versa-tility can tackle multiple applications,
including Whiskey Jacks curb and gutter and monolithic side-walk
with curb and gutter.
Bearspaw took delivery of their Commander III last fall and put
it to work in the subdivision. The curb and gutter on the project
is a roll-over style with a 500 millimeter (19.7 in) wide base and
the curb is 235 millimeters (9.25 in) tall. The monolithic sidewalk
with curb and gutter fea-tures the same style curb, with a 1.5
meter (5 ft) wide and 127 millimeter (5 in) thick sidewalk.
Both applications on the subdivision are pre-trimmed. The
learning curve with slipform paving extended to the company in
charge of the grade prep-aration, as well.
Its one of the fights weve been having, Go-stick explained.
Theyve been using a little bit too big of aggregates so we have
been pretrimming be-
cause of it. Then we also do a second trim as we pour.
The concrete is pro-duced by a local supplier and is a high
early strength concrete with fiber mesh to accommodate the extreme
weather conditions. It has a high strength, 35 MPa (5076 psi), to
counteract the climates freeze/thaw cycle and also the large amount
of road salt the municipalities use during the winter.
Production with the Com-mander III on the two dif-ferent
applications has been difficult to measure due to challenging
weather condi-tions and a constantly inter-rupted supply of
concrete.
Every time we try to book in a large pour, the mines will call
right in the middle of it and there goes our concrete supply
because they get first pri-
ority, Gostick said. Side-walk is nice because you see a lot of
volume down on the ground, but curb and gutter is what the guys
like. You can start the day on the corner of a subdivi-sion and by
the end of the day, you cant see where you started.
The Commander III is applying a smooth finish. Finishers simply
apply a broom finish and cut in the joints. Joints in the new curb
and gutter are every 2.1 meters (7 ft) and the monolithic joints
are every 1.5 meters (5 ft).
Bearspaw started slip-forming on the project last fall, but
winter caught them before they could complete all of the work. This
year, they are finishing the last of it, and then will start on
another 6.5 kilometers (4

The company is also looking to expand into oth-er applications
with their new Commander III and
continue to grow their slip-forming division. Bearspaw has bid
on an 80 kilometer (50 mi) long, one meter (3.3 ft) tall Jersey

The possibilities are
very exciting for our com-pany, Gostick said. I have been

Wacker Neuson has launched a Certified Deal-er Award program for
its full-line, contracted dealer network. The award rec-ognizes
Wacker Neuson dealers that show excep-tional aftermarket service
and support.
To qualify, dealers must reach a minimal threshold on a point
evaluation system, which is based on a vari-ety of aftermarket
servic-es including spare parts availability, organiza-tion
structure, machine record management and continuous training. All
Wacker Neuson con-tracted dealers will be introduced to this new
program throughout the year and will be award-ed certification
levels to provide the best overall support and experience for end
users. Dealers achieving the Certified Dealer Award receive a
plaque and other sup-porting programs. Wack-er Neuson dealers
will
work closely with a dedi-cated aftermarket dealer development
team to create a strategy to help grow and proactively prepare to
support the emerging technology on the market.
Being able to sup-port and service inno-vative products while
minimizing downtime is essential, said Ja-son Oglesby, Technical
Services Manager for Wacker Neuson. The program is designed to arm
our dealers with the resources they need to best support their
Wack-er Neuson fleet. In turn, the dealers custom-ers can be
assured their equipment is backed by a strong distribution net-work
and a manufacturer who stands behind every product.
Wacker Neuson repre-sentatives were on hand at A to Z Equipment,
based in Phoenix, Ariz., on April 28, 2014, to present the first

North Americas first-ever construction-themed adventure park
will open its doors to the public on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
Diggerland USA covers 14 acres of centrally located land in Camden
County, N.J., and offers visitors the opportunity to operate heavy
machinery in a safe, family-friendly environ-ment.
Once the Diggerland USA gates open, visitors will have access to
23 on-site attractions, most of which are comprised of modified JCB
heavy con-struction equipment. The rides have been engineered to
allow parents and chil-dren to safely dig, drive and ride familiar,
real-sized construction equipment.
The decision to build the unique park was made by the owners and
senior management of the neigh-bouring indoor and outdoor water
park, Sahara Sams Oasis, who leveraged the blueprint set forth by
the four Diggerland parks in
the United Kingdom. The opportunity to take
the concept of a construc-tion theme park and make it our own
was very excit-ing for us, said Ilya Girlya, CEO of Sahara Sams and
Diggerland USA.
The Girlya family owns and operates SAMBE Gen-eral Contracting
which is overseeing the construc-tion of Diggerland USA.
My family has a very personal connection to the project, just as
we did with Sahara Sams five years ago, Girlya said. Con-struction
has been in my family for many years so it was a natural fit for us
to build a construction theme park.
Plans for Diggerland USA were officially un-veiled just a few
months ago in January and since, the park has seen signifi-cant
progress. Local resi-dents driving down Coo-per Road can now see
the black-and-yellow Digger-land USA sign with attrac-tions and
indoor facilities
spanning the landscape behind it.
More notably, however, were the ride equipment deliveries
received over the past two weeks that ensure the final touches to
the park are completed in time for the grand opening.
Six months ago we returned from the United Kingdom and concurred
that this was a project that would be a huge success, said Chris
Peters, Director of PR and Marketing. The pace at which this park
has come together is unheard of. Its been a remarkable experience
working with this team, our partners in the UK, and a five-star
global equipment manufac-turer like JCB. b

This fall, the construc-tion and trucking industries will take
over TRADEX in Abbotsford. September 19-20, 2014 will see the
return of TRUXPO and the arrival of the Pacific Heavy Equipment
Show. The two shows will be co-located at TRADEX and are expected
to draw thousands of visi-
tors. We are excited to be
pairing these two events for the first time, said Mark Cusack,
National Show Manager. Its a natural fit to combine the trucking
and construction industries. Theres a lot of crossover in terms of
both exhibitors and audience.
Whether you are talking about a small vocational operation or
large road building contractor, you will find trucks, trailers and
heavy equipment. This is exactly what you will see in
September.
Presented in partnership with the BC Trucking Asso-ciation,
TRUXPO is West-
ern Canadas largest truck-ing and logistics show. It attracts
local, national and international exhibitors and visitors and
showcases new products and the lat-est in commercial trucking,
logistics and transporta-tion equipment. This year, it will take

Program
The Conference Pro-gram is organized by the BC Trucking
Association.
Sessions will educate and inform trucking associa-tion and
industry person-nel with relevant industry information.Industry
Luncheon
As part of the confer-ence program, there will be a ticketed
industry lun-cheon with a special key-note speaker.Multicultural
Focus
Well celebrate Cana-das diverse trucking in-dustry with a full
day of hands-on driver and indus-try information sessions plus
special entertainment and ethnic & Canadian food.Recruiting
Here
This popular feature encourages job seekers to come with resume
in-hand. Drivers, mechanics and other related professionals are in
demand all across the nation. Exhibitors will have the option to
display special signage indicating they are hiring. Show &
Shine
Showcasing an impres-sive grouping of Show Trucks, all vying for
hon-ours in the Truck Beauty
Show, the Show & Shine will be professionally judged.
Presented by Pro-Trucker Magazine.
The Pacific Heavy Equipment Show will wel-come equipment owners,
operators and purchasers representing general con-struction,
trucking, public works, utilities, aggregate production, road
build-ing and maintenance from across western Canada to see, demo
and purchase the equipment and services they will need to sustain
their operations into the future.
It will be an outdoor and tented event encom-passing three acres
of both static and demo exhibits in the TRADEX north parking lot.
The Demo Zone will provide visitors with an opportunity to test
equip-ment right on site in real operating conditions, so they can
see exactly what the machines can do.

The range of modern air operated hoists manu-factured by J D
Neuhaus offer safe and efficient lift-ing and handling facilities
for a wide range of general engineering and industrial
applications. Their Profi TI hoist range has been up-graded to
combine quieter operation, with faster lift-ing/lowering speeds
while being more energy effi-cient as well as incorporat-ing some
lighter and more compact build qualities.
These robust low-head-room products have a prov-en pedigree for
100% duty rating and unlimited duty cycles for successful
opera-tion within a wide range of industrial and engineering
environments, including applications in some of the harshest and
most danger-ous working conditions throughout the world. Typi-cal
areas of application in-clude aircraft construction, assembly
lines, chemical plants, dairies, foundries, mechanical engineering,
on
and offshore drilling rigs, power plants, refineries, quarries
and mines, saw-mills, shipyards and auto-motive plants.
The Profi TI range op-erates from either a 4 or 6 bar air supply
and the hoists in the 3 to 50 tonne lift capacity range are ideal
for medium to heavy lifting requirements. For extreme heavy
lifting, hoists are also available with lift capacities up to 100
tonnes. The highly versatile Profi hoists can also be used in
tandem or parallel configurations to provide safe lifting for
larger or extra heavy loads.
The Profi hoists are all provided with single point top
suspension, and can be fitted with trolleys for overhead monorail
mountings to facilitate horizontal travel require-ments. Trolleys
with manual, reel chain or mo-torised operation can be supplied,
combined with
a standard hoist lifts of 3 metres, with other special lift
requirements also ac-commodated.
Optional control sys-tems can be fitted for varying hoist
controls, including universally ap-plicable rope/chain types or an
FI sensitive control for very easy handling. A corrosion proof type
E control offers single speed sensitive operation and type F
multi-lateral con-trols provide for multi-function and variable
speed hoist lift/travel op-tions. Remote control and
electropneumatic inter-face operation can also be provided.
A range of hydraulical-ly operated hoists are also available,
including a spe-cial purpose unit capable of operating at arctic
tem-peratures as low as -45C. Special purpose require-ments such as
underwa-ter operation are also ac-commodated, typically as required
for offshore or ship repair applications. A range of dedicated
hoists designed specifically for use within the mining industry can
also be sup-plied.
For lighter-duty op-erations, the J D Neuhaus
Mini hoist range is avail-able for individual pow-ered lift
applications of 125, 250, 500 and 980kg, operating at 6 bar air
pres-sure. These are handy, flexible and universally deployable
hoist tools for a wide range of handi-craft workshop opera-tions
including horizontal pulling. A manually oper-ated overhead trolley
is also available for beam mounting, together with a manipulator
version of the Mini which facilitates safe, single-handed
lift/lower/traverse and load
positioning operations. These versatile products are
particularly suited to food related applica-tions or wherever other
low-medium duty lifting requirements occur, and can be supplied
with op-tional standard lift heights of 3, 5 or 8 metres.
All JDN hoists are de-signed for applications in potentially

Winter temperatures at Norways remote Sy-dvaranger iron ore mine
can plunge to 35C. To keep things moving the mine relies on air
dryers, oil-injected rotary screw compressors and oil-free
compressors from Atlas Copco. Sydvaranger had three main reasons
for
choosing Atlas Copco as their supplier: reliability, life-cycle
cost and energy efficiency.
The Sydvaranger iron ore mine is located in Nor-ways far
north-east, about 400 km above the Arctic Circle. It sits in
mountain-ous terrain above both the small town of Kirkenes and
Bkfjorden, a waterway connected to the nearby Barents Sea.
Einar Berg, Senior Min-ing Advisor, knows every-thing worth
knowing about the open pits and the qual-ity of the ore and the
rock. The weather conditions are the biggest challenge for mining
in the area, he says. The summers are bright and warm, but in the
winter we can have temperatures as low as 35 degrees.Compressed air
is the heart of the production
Atlas Copco has deliv-ered air dryers, oil-injected rotary screw
compressors and oil-free compressors to the mine. We could
imme-diately see that the extreme temperature conditions required a
reliable choice of air dryers, says Rune Mjrud Hansen, District
Manager for Atlas Copco Compressor Technique Scandinavia.
Sydvaranger Gruve has chosen BD-dry-ers for their plant which
gives them clean and dry air with a guaranteed dew point of at
least - 40C. Compressed air is the heart of the production and if
the air freezes production is brought to a halt.
The mines active pit, Bjrnevatn, is located only two kilometers
from the border with Russia. Coarsely crushed ore is transported on
an eight kilometre long railway track the most northerly railroad
in Europe down to Kirkenes. Here it under-goes further milling and
separating and is turned into the concentrate that is shipped to
smelting plants in Asia or Europe.
What some consider a remote location may be an advantage for
others, says Berg. The first com-mercial cargo ever to go through
the Northern Sea route was iron ore from Sydvaranger on the way to
China in 2010. That route saves 40% on time, fuel and emissions
compared to a conventional route. We decided to invest in
quality.
Arnfinn Mentyjrvi, Maintenance Manager at the mine, says
Sydvaranger had three main reasons for choosing Atlas Copco
equipment reliability, life-cycle cost and energy
efficiency.
You can look at the price tag or you can look at the total cost,
says Men-tyjrvi. We decided to invest in quality. We have previous
experience from earlier production in the mine and know that we can
trust equipment from Atlas Copco, and that ac-cess to spare parts
is good.
Energy efficiency has become increasingly im-portant within the
mining industry. There is also an energy shortage. The clo-sure of
the mine in 1996 created a surplus of elec-tricity in the area that
was then used for other busi-ness, says Mentyjrvi. When the mine
was reha-bilitated we had to build up a new supply chain, but the
access to electricity isnt unlimited and this has put extra focus
on using energy efficient equipment.
Hansen points out that while compressors are not the biggest
consum-
ers of energy at Sydva-ranger Gruve, minimizing operational
costs leads to superior productivity. Low pressure drop and dynamic
control with dew point dependent switching was essential, he says.
With our frequency con-trolled, oil-free compressor ZR400VSD, which
provides precise pressure control, its not unusual to have en-ergy
savings of up to 35%.
Sydvaranger Gruve has a 24-hour service contract with Atlas
Copco and 20 staff are based on-site, conducting maintenance,
service and repairs on the drill rig equipment. Einar Berg says the
arrangement works well. We have dai-ly meetings where we plan and
adjust the maintenance to the production, he says. That gives an
appreciated flexibility and there have been very few problems.
Atlas Copco has also deliv-ered lighting sets and sev-eral
different types of drill and top hammer rigs to Sy-dvaranger. b

June 2014
The Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, and
Port Metro Vancouver recently announced joint funding of $1.71
million for an expe-dited initiative to outfit the remainder of the
container truck fleet, approved to serve port terminals as part of
Port Metro Vancouvers Truck Licensing System (TLS), with Global
Posi-tioning System (GPS) tech-nology. This initiative aims to
reduce congestion and wait times at Port Metro Vancouver.
The GPS Program, part of Port Metro Vancouvers Smart Fleet
Trucking Strat-egy, was expedited as part
of the Joint Action Plan. Under the program, ap-proximately 50
per cent of the trucks approved in TLS were outfitted with GPS
transponder units be-tween 2012 and 2013. The remaining
TLS-approved trucks will be outfitted with GPS units as part of the
expedited initiative, to be completed by July 2014. GPS technology
in every TLS-approved truck will provide a complete, ac-curate and
real-time base of data enabling insight to routing and operational
in-formation to help manage congestion and wait times. This data is
also essential for the full implementation
of the Joint Action Plan, in-cluding for elements such as a
common reservation system, and for determin-ing wait time fees.
On March 26, 2014 the governments of Canada and British Columbia
and Port Metro Vancouver reached agreement with members of the
United Truckers As-sociation and Unifor to end the 28-day work
disruption at Port Metro Vancouver with the joint adoption of the
refined Joint Action Plan to address truckers con-cerns. The plan
provides 15 points for implementation, and provides a framework for
long-term stability in the container trucking indus-
try. All parties are working together with experienced mediator
Vince Ready to im-plement the plan with input from key
stakeholders. The expedited implementation of Port Metro Vancouvers
GPS Program represents one point in the progress of the Joint
Action Plan.
Our Government is committed to supporting Canadian exporters and
creating new markets for Canadian products, said The Honourable
Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport. Thats why we are com-mitted to
implementing changes rapidly to bring stability to the industry,
diminish wait times, and prevent disruptions in the future.
The Province recog-nizes that Port Metro Van-couver is one of
the busi-est ports in North America; keeping British Columbi-ans
working, our economy
running, and goods mov-ing across the country and through
Canadas Pacific Gateway, said Transpor-tation and Infrastructure
Minister Todd Stone. To date, the Province has in-vested over half
a million dollars towards this pro-gram which will improve trucking
operations at the port. Weve already made progress on a number of
points in the Joint Action Plan and this funding will help with the
implementa-tion of other commitments in the plan.
GPS technology will help manage congestion and wait times, said
Rob-in Silvester, President and Chief Executive Officer, Port Metro
Vancouver the completion of this program is an essential step in
car-rying out the Joint Action Plan, with the opportunity to
transform the container trucking industry and make
our port a world leader. The round of funding
required to outfit the bal-ance of the licensed truck fleet with
GPS technol-ogy will be split amongst three contributors, with
Transport Canada provid-ing $855,000, Port Metro Vancouver
$595,000, and the BC Ministry of Trans-portation and
Infrastruc-ture providing $260,000. This brings the total cost of
the program, which started in 2013, to over $2.5 mil-lion. With the
completion of this initiative Port Metro Vancouver will be the only
port in North America to have a full truck fleet us-ing
GPS-monitoring, which will allow an unparalleled transparency in
the supply chain and opportunity to manage container logistics, and
will contribute to help-ing reduce the number and length of truck
trips at the port. b

Italian-based OSA De-molition Equipment is en-tering the North
American market for the first time. Working through their
ex-clusive distribution part-ner, Cadeci International of
Wellington, Fla., they will introduce their prod-uct line in the
spring of 2014. OSA makes demo-lition attachments for the smallest
excavators and skid steers, all the way up to machines that weigh
in at well over 200,000 pounds, and will offer their full product
line and customer support to the North American demoli-tion, mining
and scrap industries. Specializing in advanced hammers, scrap
shears, crushers, cutters, pulverizers and grapples, every OSA
product is 100 percent Italian-made from the finest materials, such
as high quality ThyssenK-rupp HARDOX and WEL-DOX steels.
The brand made its U.S. debut at the World Of Con-crete show in
Las Vegas and have since exhibited at the Rental show in Orlando
Fla., the NDA Convention, ConExpo, the IASM show and the ISRI show.

Phil ippi-Hagenbuch (PHIL) recently present-ed the newest
patent-pending invention from LeRoy Hagenbuch, P.E, the Rolling
Wedge Cutter. The Rolling Wedge Cut-ter offers an innovative
material-cutting approach that could dramatically improve material
trench-ing and mining processes while improving cut size and
reducing cutting (coal) dust by as much as 50 percent.
With the Rolling Wedge Cutter, Hagenbuch continues in his
long-held vision of designing solu-tions that improve pro-ductivity
while maximiz-ing efficiency.
The Rolling Wedge Cutter is a solution for trenching and mining
through challenging en-vironments for general construction, road
con-struction, mining and utility applications. It can be used in
aboveg-round and underground environments, and can
create time efficiencies and accomplish tech-niques that were
previ-ously thought very diffi-cult, and in some cases,
unachievable.
The greatest benefit of using the Rolling Wedge Cutter is that
60-70 per-cent less energy is re-quired to roll material out in
tension than the sheer, brute force re-quired to take materials
past their compressive strength. Instead of blast-ing material
apart by ex-ceeding its compressive strength through brute force,
which has been the traditional method, the Rolling Wedge Cutter
places material in ten-sion and pulls it apart by overcoming the
ma-terials tensile strength. When put in tension, material such as
concrete has just one-fifth the ten-sile strength of its
com-pressive strength.
Because of that, the Rolling Wedge Cutter curtails the
challenges as-
sociated with trenching and mining through dif-ficult materials
such as concrete, concrete with rebar, frozen ground and pavement.
It causes less disruption to the ground underneath streets and
roadways than backhoes and jackhammers forc-ing their way through
pavement. It eliminates the need to wait for the ground to thaw by
allow-ing users to trench or cut through materials with-out
jackhammers, saws or other cutting devices. And users who want to
break up a chunk of con-crete can just drill a small hole and drive
in a Rolling Wedge Cutter.
The Rolling Wedge Cut-ter adapts easily to many makes and models
of tren-chers and mining equip-ment. It is constructed out of
hardened steel and is available in various sizes, from 0.75- to
9-inch diam-eters. It can be outfitted with a host of optional tips
to meet the specific needs of a project, and Hagenbu-ch is
currently developing specific cutters for specific cutting
applications. The width of the trench dictates the total number of
cutters required. b
