SUPPLIERS CONVENTION
April 2011. Sie legt ihren
inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt auf „Materialien- und
Ressourcen-effizienz“. Effizienz in den Bereichen
Kostenkalkulation, Entwicklung, Produktion und Fertigung ist heute
integraler Bestandteil unternehmerischen Handelns in sämtlichen
Industriebereichen.
Zukunft? Die Suppliers Convention liefert an fünf Messetagen die
dazugehörigen Antworten mit fachlichem Zuliefer-Know-how.
gestalten. Ich wünsche Ihnen viele interessante und bereichernde
Dialoge mit branchenübergreifendem Austausch!
SUPPLIERS CONVENTION
Welcome to the 3rd Suppliers Convention!
With over 1,500 companies on board, Industrial Supply – the
leading trade fair for industrial subcontracting and light-weight
construction – boasts the largest share of exhibitors at HANNOVER
MESSE, and thus accounts for a vast innovative potential at the
fair being staged from 4 to 8 April 2011. By placing a major
emphasis on “material and resource efficien-cy” the fair does
justice to the pivotal need of every sector of industry to strive
for maximum efficiency in terms of costing, engineering and
manufacturing.
The Suppliers Convention features dedicated theme days and a
rich program of presentations and discussions aimed at each and
every branch of industry, all serving the goal of illuminat-ing the
most effective strategies for boosting efficiency and ensuring
long-term competitiveness.
Over the five days of HANNOVER MESSE, the Suppliers Con-vention
will deliver a wealth of valuable know-how by and for
subcontractors and their clientele, delving into the pioneering
technologies which hold the greatest potential for environ-mentally
compatible and cost-effective manufacturing and processing.
I would like to extend my personal thanks to everyone
contrib-uting to this third staging of the Suppliers Convention.
May the convention benefit you with plenty of the interdisciplinary
kind of dialogue that can make all the difference for you!

INNOVATION AS THE KEY TO WINNING THE RACE
Without innovative products and processes, industrial
subcon-tractors run the risk of becoming interchangeable, of being
passed up by companies from low-wage countries or of being
subjected to intense price pressure from buyers. Innovation is
definitely what it takes to stay ahead of the pack. However, coming
up with the right innovations means first being in the know about
what others are developing, e.g. new materials, resource-efficient
production methods, maybe even tiny details that don’t appear all
that important at first glance. And it requires knowing what’s
happening even beyond one’s customary field of vision. The only
winning way of getting the whole picture is by engaging in dialogue
precisely of the kind possible at the Suppliers Convention –
face-to-face inter-change among industrial subcontractors and their
user clien-tele. By tapping into the huge amount of collective
experience available from customers, partners and R&D
practitioners, industrial subcontractors can find new ways to
enhance their offerings and expand their business horizons. The
name of the game is to stand out from the competition and avoid
being perceived as interchangeable, and this means being able to
convey unique value.
At this thoroughly international subcontractors’ forum, lead-ing
companies, research scientists and practitioners from a range of
different sectors and disciplines are on hand to pro-vide you with
all the know-how you need to design successful products and
optimize your processes. You will also benefit from forging new
ties and comparing notes with participants from different
backgrounds on both sides of the vendor/user divide. The
opportunities are all yours for the taking – at the Suppliers

WELCOME TO THE SUPPLIERS CONVENTION!
A dynamic and versatile subcontracting industry with a marked
competence in development and production is pivotal to industrial
innovation and creativity. More than half of all industrial
innovations come from the subcontracting industry. Especially in
view of today’s climate protection challenges and the pressing need
to reduce CO2 emissions, a productive and active partnership
between buyers and subcontractors is of the essence.
ArGeZ, the German Subcontracting Industry Association,
represents some 8,000 subcontracting enterprises which employ one
million people, achieving annual revenue of 215 billion euros.
ArGeZ stands for a permanent and constructive dialog between
subcontracting and customer industries, and HANNOVER MESSE
represents the perfect venue for this type of networking.
As the non-commercial sponsor of the Suppliers Convention, I
look forward to this year’s event, taking place in the midst of a
substantial number of international subcontracting com-panies and
their clients. I wish you a successful time at the show as well as
at the Suppliers Convention, which is sure to provide you with many
important new insights.
