Why Integrate IBM i2 With Sintelix? The Sintelix text intelligence solution thrives on unstructured data. Sintelix is the default text analytics solution used by law enforcement, defence and intelligence customers worldwide. Sintelix offers unparalleled information extraction capabilities including entity and relationship extraction at high accuracy from text in many languages. Integrating IBM i2 with Sintelix offers the following benefits:
• OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) data harvesting, including social media and dark web data• Unstructured data storage in the secure Sintelix repository• Multimodal Search for unstructured and structured data• Information extraction from unstructured data (documents) automatically recognising:
• Entities• Properties• Relationships
• Network creation from large document collections:• Resolved entity networks• Topic networks• Community structure networks• Timeline views
• Visualize documents and import networks into:• IBM i2 Analyst Notebook• IBM i2 repositories
• Workflow information extraction for IBM i2 Analyze ingestion streams• Manual creation and editing of entities, properties and relationships• Flexible configuration options for information extraction and network creation to meet your needs
Sintelix offers seamless integration with IBM i2
The Sintelix Text Intelligence WorkflowIntegrating Sintelix with IBM i2 gives you an entire end to end workflow for both structured and unstructured data
Sintelix offers a unique mix of capabilities, performance and enterprise features.
Multilingual ExtractionSintelix has high quality extractors tuned into 13 languages:
• Arabic• Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)• Dutch• Farsi• French• German• Indonesian• Italian• Polish• Portuguese• Russian
• Spanish
Manual Editing, Creation and Merging of EntitiesSintelix gives you the ability to create entities, properties and relationships of your own. It also allows you to modify the ones that it has created automatically.
Sintelix provides for manual creation and editing at two levels::
The operations Sintelix provides at document level include:
• Document properties. Editing of document properties, including security properties, if the user has sufficient privileges• Text references.
• Creation of text references and entities• Creation of multiple text references with the same text• Deletion of entities and text references• Moving text references between entities • Editing of entity or text reference properties
Changes made at document level feed through to network level.
2. Merging at network level
The images below demonstrate the quick and easy process of merging two clusters into one.
Projects and CollaborationSintelix supports flexible work patterns to suit the varied needs of users and the organisational environments.
The core collaboration tool is the Sintelix Project. A Project can contain:
• Document collections• Networks• Wiki pages• Configurations
Wiki pages are rich text documents that can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
• Project Home Pages - introducing and summarising the Project
• Storage and sharing project actions• Creating reports
Wiki pages can be exported in the form of Microsoft Word documents.
Project components are visible to those Sintelix users with permission to access them. Projects can be exported and sent via email to third parties who can import them into their own on-premise copies of Sintelix or Sintelix in the cloud.
SecuritySintelix allows you to set up a fully customisable security model in order to protect and control access to your Sintelix content. Security is offered at collection, document and network level. Items for which a user does not have security privileges can be completely hidden, or visible but not accessible.
Authentication can be provided remotely via LDAP or Microsoft Active Directory, or locally within Sintelix (screen shot below). Accounts can be provisioned in bulk. Sintelix offers single sign-on. In the collection view (bottom), collections that the user is not privileged to access are not visible. Those users with less privileges see fewer collections.

Integrations between Sintelix and IBM i2The Sintelix integration with IBM i2 is designed to work seamlessly with new or existing IBM i2 workflows. Once integrated, information can be extracted by Sintelix from unstructured data and accessed directly from within IBM i2 components.
You can use Sintelix to extract entities and relationships of interest from information held in unstructured data, creating Sintelix networks that can be imported into IBM i2.
We Provide 6 integrations with 4 IBM i2 components:
1. IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook
• Charting plugin• ANX export from Sintelix for input into Analyst’s Notebook 2. IBM i2 iBase
• Configurable Exporter 3. IBM i2 Analyze
• Data Loader with Schema Matcher • Document Entity Extraction Service 4. IBM Analyst’s Notebook Premium (LAR)
IBM i2 Analyst’s NotebookThis integration comes in the form of a plugin which is installed on your workstation and extends the capabilities of IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook. The plugin interacts with the Sintelix, which the plugin uses as a server. This integration provides real-time access to Sintelix network entities, links and documents from within your IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook UI.
Access your Sintelix data directly from the ANB interface
The capabilities of the Sintelix document pane are included within the plugin. They comprise:
• Visualising references to locations and navigation between references via an expandable map showing locations by country.
• Editing entities marked up within the document.• Getting document source files.• Exporting Sintelix document XML.• Link to external services e.g. Google Translate etc.

IBM i2 AnalyzeData Loader – this integration allows you to import a network created in Sintelix into IBM i2 Analyze. An IBM i2 connector configuration is created in Sintelix via the Schema Matcher (below, left pane) and used to transfer the required network segments into IBM i2 Analyze.
Extract information in Sintelix and export your network data to iBase
IBM iBase exporter reviewer – node and link tables can be reviewed, as can linked documents
ETL Document Entity Extraction Integration – this allows Sintelix document processing to be called as a web service from the i2 Analyze ingestion chain to extract information as data from third party products is fed into i2 Analyze.
