    Readiness & Deployment Support Programs provide knowledge & skills to military personnel and their familiesin an effort to enhance military life. It is recommended that units schedule these workshops as soon as

    deployment schedules are known. All of the following briefs & workshops must be scheduled by the unit FamilyReadiness Officer or Deputy FRO. Pre-Deployment Briefs: Designed to provide resources and information that assist service members and theirfamilies in preparing for and coping with the changes and challenges of deployment. There are two versions of this brief; one for single service members and one for married service members, as their needs are verydifferent. These briefs are designed to be just that brief. We hit the wave tops of important information andprovide the participants with an informational package to carry with them that details all the topics covered inthe brief.

    Kids & Deployment Workshops: Kids-N-Deployment is actually two workshops in one, a parents and achildrens workshop; parents on one side and children on the other. Designed to offer the parents as well as thechildren resources and coping skills needed to sustain them during the deployment; the parents side of thisworkshop focuses on the childrens emotional and behavioral challenges as well as coping strategies andresources to utilize during the deployment. The childrens side of the workshop provides the children activitiesand tools needed to cope with military separations.

    In The Midst Workshops: Is designed for spouses In The Midst of Military Life. This workshop wascreated to empower our participants through 5 exciting interactive venues. Topics include such things as

    Relaxation, Networking, Having Fun, Learning Something New, and Communication. With changing themesand the exciting interactive nature of the event spouses are encourage to attend again and again!

    Kids In The Midst Workshops: Kids In The Midst offers children ages 4-18 a workshop that exploresthe topics important for children In The Midst of military life. Children will have fun while learning a variety of topics such as good nutrition and exercise, dealing with emotions and stress, good character and much more.

    Beyond the BriefThe Rest of the Story Workshops: Pre-Deployments briefs are designed to be justthat a brief . This workshop is designed for two way communication this workshop is a 6 week series thatprovides the information in a relaxed, interactive, informal atmosphere. Topics covered are: Coping: TheStress, Anxiety and Fear, Safe and Sound at Home, The Money, Combat and Operational Stress Effects onMarines and Their Families, Casualty Assistance, The Process, and Juggling During the Deployment, Stressreducing Methods and Techniques.

    Return & Reunion Workshops: This workshop is designed to explain, through interactive activities, what canbe expected with homecoming and the reunion process. During the workshop tips are provided that will helpSpouses during this time. Topics covered include Communication, Deployment Stress, Re-Integration,Expectations and the Return of Intimacy.

    children resources and coping skills needed to assist them with family reintegration; the parents side of thisworkshop focuses on the childrens emotional and behavioral challenges as well as coping strategies andresources to utilize during the homecoming and reintegration process. The childrens side of the workshopprovides the children activities and tools needed to cope with Family reintegration. Rebuild and Renew Briefs: Designed for active duty members upon their return it provides tools forsuccessful communication and reintegration. The brief address the different aspects of coming back to achanged environment, such as; the relationships that they have, expectations surrounding homecoming,communicating with family and friends and resources available to them upon their return.

    Combat and Operational Stress Control Briefs: This Brief is offered to both our Active Duty Members andtheir Spouses. The brief defines what Combat and Operational Stress is, how to recognize it and what to do inresponse to it. The main goal is to understand that stress is a normal part of everyday life and that there areeffective ways to deal with it.     Life Skills is the newest section of the MCFTB umbrella. Here at Camp Lejeune we offer workshops and classesthat provide foundation skills for our service members and their families. Some of our classes include:

    Before I Do Marriage Foundation Workshop: This is a two-day workshop offered twice a month forcouples planning to marry or those married for two years or less. This workshop covers a wide variety of topicsand focuses on how each of these matters affects the marriage and the couple. Things such as communication,finances, expectations and roles, values and spirituality, personality, drugs and alcohol, resources, family,friends, in-laws, even sexuality and sensuality are all topics explored through this workshop.

    Marriage Enrichment Workshop (Using the PREP Approach): This two-day workshop provides aneducational experience for couples that will enable them to enhance their communication and problem solvingskills, prevention of marital distress, and the skills associated with effective marital functioning.

    Family Care Plan: This workshop covers the requirements of the Marine Corps Order 1740.13 whichmandates Marines to put in place a plan of action in order to take care of family members they are responsiblefor while in their absence. It also provides resources that will assist in the completion of their Family Care Plan. Elder Care: This workshop covers the emotional challenges of dealing with elders in our lives as well asstrategies to best support them. Learn to identify when elder care dialog needs to be initiated, recognize thestages of care giving, define what home care is, make informed choices regarding care options, and recognizesigns of and counteract care giver burnout. This is a 1.5 hour workshop.

    Four Lenses Part I: This interactive, fun workshop allows participants the ability to explore their personalitybased on four temperament colors. Participants are given a tool to identify their strengths and weaknesses basedon their personality inventory.

    Four Lenses Part II: Family Thrival- Designed to help strengthen families. Parents and children all have aunique temperament spectrum, which are constantly in interaction. Understanding the differences andsimilarities are crucial for successful parenting. This information helps parents make better choices in parenting,provides practical suggestions to interact with children of all temperament types, as well as strengthen familyrelationships. Four Lenses I is a prerequisite for this workshop.

    Four Lenses Coloring Your Teen- Parents attend this interactive, fun workshop with their teen. This allowsfor them to explore their personality based on four temperament colors. Participants are given a tool to identifytheir strengths and weaknesses based on their personality inventory.

    7 Habits of Highly Effective Military Families: Based on the original principle of Stephen Coveys 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this course will offer military families the opportunity to apply these same principles totheir military lives. Highlights of the program include; being proactive versus reactive, starting with the end in

    mind and being able to see the big picture.

    Cooperative Parenting & Divorce- Gives separated and divorcing parents the power to make positive changesto shield children from conflict and help establish a positive, long term relationship with the child's other parent.

    Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours- Raising children these days can be daunting. Equippingparents with seven principles of Reality Discipline--a loving no-nonsense parenting approach that reallyworks shows parents how to: understand why children misbehave and what to do about it, foil finicky eaters,turn off temper tantrums, and minimize sibling rivalries, set suitable allowances, curfews, and privileges.

    Nurturing Americas Military Families Series- A Nurturing Skills Parenting Program specifically designedto improve the nurturing parenting skills of parents in the military with children ages birth to 11 years old. Contact: (910) 451-0176

    L.I.N.K.S. for Spouses: How can you successfully navigate the Marine Corps lifestyle without any directions?Thats what LINKS does for you! We provide you with insight, tips, vital information and ideas so you can

    successfully meet the challenges and expectations you will encounter as a Marine Corps spouse. Our mentoringprogram is For Spouses By Spouses and we have classes that suit anyones schedule, from one day sessions, 2day session, evenings and Saturdays. Free childcare is always provided! Parents of Marine L.I.N.K.S. : As the parent or loved one of a Marine you may have questions or perhaps notenough information to support your Marine whether he/she is at his/her duty stationed or forward deployed.LINKS for Parents introduces you to the Marine Corps life-style so you can support your Marine. LINKS forParents also welcomes you should you decide to volunteer for your Marines unit by providing you with indepth understanding of our culture, expectations and resources available to those who serve and their families.

    L.I.N.K.S. for Teens: At L.I.N.K.S., we want to share information and resources to help teens meet thechallenges they face as Military Teens. This course will provide teens an environment that respects their uniqueperspectives and challenges within the military lifestyle while allowing them to meet other teens, network andshare experiences that they have faced. L.I.N.K.S. for Tweens & Kids : Is a 3.0 hour, interactive workshop, where kids will get to participate inprojects that help them understand what makes our military community so unique! Designed to appeal to thechildren, this workshop will explore some of the history, traditions, resources and lifestyle topics that childrenface while being an active duty military child.

    L.I.N.K.S. for the Active Duty Marines: Being a Marine presents a wide variety of opportunities andchallenges; LINKS is part of your support system under the MCFTB umbrella.     The goal of CREDO is to provide appropriate programs of ministry to enable military members, their familymembers, and other authorized personnel to develop personal and spiritual resources and grow toward

    increased functional ability, religious maturity, acceptance of responsibility, and to enhance readiness.CREDO offers 1, 2 & 3-day retreats (personal, spiritual, womens, marriage, family, youth, singles and couplespre-deployment), to include all lodging, meals and all materials. Marriage Enrichment Retreat I: The MER I is designed to inspire and energize military couples, many of them worn out and exhausted from multiple deployments, to make their marriages better. Throughout theweekend, the retreat fosters an environment where couples are able to have meaningful discussions on a varietyof subjects to help them to understand one another better and to foster a stronger relationship dynamic. Thisretreat is based on the work of Gary Chapmans book The Five Love Languages . Marriage Enrichment Retreat II: This retreat offers military couples a follow-on experience to CREDOs

    MER I and gives them a opportunity to look deeper in their relationships. Based on a marriage communicationprogram called Strong Bonds, Strong Couples this retreat is designed for combat veteran couples. It involves achaplain led small group process allowing couples to achieve greater communication depth on the topics of combat, deployment, and military life. This retreat is designed to go deeper into the martial issues holdingmilitary couples back from their full relationship potential. Personal Growth Retreat: Honoring Your Return: A Personal Growth Experience, is a 48 hour retreat basedon the traditional PGR and is available to individuals, returning warriors, and their family members. Designedas a confidential experiential training, wellness and decompression retreat to process experiences, addressconcerns and for renewal. For the returning warrior it will sensitively address Combat and Operational Stressissues while providing the skills to bring about a new level of managing your life, career and family. This

    weekend offers the individual and family member the opportunity to focus on accepting reality, personalresponsibility and refreshing one's perspective and outlook on life. Working together, participants will gaincoping skills, re-alignment and leadership experience. Because of this retreats powerful, life-changing capacity,family members are asked to attend separate retreats. Family Retreat: This unique retreat is designed to teach patterns and skills that support healthy family life tothe families of Marine and Sailors. The retreat program is based on a Family Wellness Associates Programcalled Survival Skills for Healthy Families . Emphasis is placed on the role of parents, the role of children, andthe role of the couple in the family. Single parent and step-family concerns are also included.     Spiritual Growth Retreats: The SGR is a follow-on 48 hour retreat to the Personal Growth Retreat,emphasizing faith, hope and love. These retreats focus on renewing hope and gaining a new spiritual resource tomanage daily living. The SGR is designed to assist participants in the pursuit of a more mature relationship withGod and a meaningful experience of religious faith.

    One Day Retreats: CREDO Camp Lejeune offers individual units the following three one day retreats both onand off-site in order to provide focused training for couples and singles.

    Singles Retreat: To help single Marines and Sailors discover and understand their personality type basedon the DISC Model of Human Behavior as presented by Robert A. Rohm, PhD. Through theunderstanding of ones own personality type, one will better understand how to relate to the personalitytypes of others especially as it applies to the dating realm. Utilizing this self discovery along with theinsights of the Premarital Interpersonal Choices & Knowledge (P.I.C.K. A Partner) program asdeveloped by John Van Epp, PhD, Marines and Sailors are better equipped to engage in responsibledating prior to marriage.

    Marriage Enrichment Retreat: To foster communication and understanding between married couples inrelation to the ten emotional needs as presented in His Needs Her Needs by Willard F. Harley, Jr., PhD.

    Couples will spend one on one time together working through the emotional needs questionnaires andthen discussing their findings with each other in order to gain a better understanding of the personalrelevance of these needs in the life of their marriage. Unit Team Building Retreat: Allows for units to see how various individuals with his/her uniquepersonality style acts, interacts and reacts with others in the unit by using the Personality InsightsInventories. Units are then able to best utilize their personnels personalities to complement each otherand increase overall mission readiness and team productivity.

    Pre-Deployment Retreat: To help the deploying Marine or Sailor prepare for marital stressors prior todeployment and to assist them in fostering communication and connectivity with their spouse

    throughout the deployment. Through a combination of fun activities and power point presentations,couples learn how to maintain a strong relationship dynamic throughout the deployment cycle.
