While strengthening the social capital and networks of the Sunshine Coast region GETTING TO OUR FUTURE The Sunshine Coast Region is poised to make significant economic and community advances. Regional economic indicators are generally very positive, major infrastructure and development projects coming online. Sound planning is in place but none of that guarantees success – that takes coordination and trust across the diverse components of our community. The Sunshine Coast Futures Conference is an annual gathering of policy, business and community leaders to address the Sunshine Coast regional issues. It helps ensure that our human and social capital is strengthened at the same rate to maximise its full potential to the community. In a dynamic program, we will hear from the youth in a segment entitled ‘Instruction from 2030’, followed by our keynote speaker, Dr Rob Greenwood from Memorial University, Canada who will discuss some of the frameworks they used for regional success. The afternoon session will take the form of a hands-on, interactive table discussions where actionable plans will be created. Ed Morrison from Purdue University’s Centre for Regional Development, who was positively received at last year’s conference, will lead the workshop to help us get things done – quickly! On behalf of the Sunshine Coast Council and our supporters, we promise a fast-paced and interesting conference where your time will be well invested. GETTING TO OUR FUTURE

The Sunshine Coast Region is poised to make significant economic and community advances.
