Dear family of St. Thomas Aquinas,
Happy Easter!! Easter is not a day but a season which lasts for 50 days until
the feast of Pentecost which we will celebrate on May 23rd this year. While we spent
40 days during Lent in preparation for Easter, we now spend 50 days celebrating the
resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. During this Easter season, we will be reading
from the Acts of the Apostles during Mass. I encourage you to read the daily readings
for Mass even if you are not able to attend Mass on weekdays. We see in the Acts of
the Apostles a Church in action. We see a Church that was vibrant and alive with the
power of the Holy Spirit. Even though they did not have much in terms of material
resources and faced severe persecution, they bore joyful witness to the gospel in the
power of the Holy Spirit.
Today, we should be inspired by their example to go forth and proclaim the
resurrection of Christ. It is only when we encounter Christ in a personal way that we
can go out and bear witness to him. I pray that during this Easter season, you will be
able to encounter Christ in a new and refreshing way. May your encounter with Christ
transform you every day and may you always be led by the Holy Spirit.
I want to thank all the staff and volunteers who worked very hard to ensure
that the Sacred Triduum was celebrated reverently and well. I am delighted to see the
love and dedication that you have to Christ and our beautiful parish of St. Thomas
Aquinas. May the resurrection of Christ fill your heart with hope and joy!

Querida familia de San Tomas Aquino,
¡¡Felices Pascuas!! La Pascua no es un día, sino una temporada que dura 50 días hasta el dia de Pentecostés que celebraremos el 23 de mayo de este año. Mientras pasamos 40 días durante la Cuaresma en preparación para la Pascua, ahora pasamos 50 días celebrando la resurrección de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Durante este tiempo, lee-remos de los Hechos de los Apóstoles durante la Misa. Les animo a leer las lecturas diarias de la Misa aunque no puedan asistir a Misa durante la semana. Vemos en los Hechos de los Apóstoles una Iglesia en acción. Vemos una Iglesia vibrante y viva con el poder del Espíritu Santo. A pesar de que no tenían mucho de recursos materiales y se enfrentaban a una persecución, dieron testimonio gozoso del Evangelio en el poder del Espíritu Santo. Hoy debemos inspirarnos en su ejemplo para proclamar la resurrección de Cristo. Es sólo cuando nos encontramos con Cristo de una manera personal que pode-mos dar testimonio de Él. Ruego que durante este tiempo de la Pascua podrémos en-contraros con Cristo de una manera nueva. Que su encuentro con Cristo le transforme cada día y que siempre le guie el Espíritu Santo.
Quiero dar gracias a todo el personal y voluntarios que trabajaron muy duro
para asegurar que el Sagrado Triduo se celebrara con reverencia. Estoy encantado de ver el amor y la dedicación que tienen a Cristo y a nuestra hermosa parroquia de Santo Tomás de Aquino. ¡Que la resurrección de Cristo llene sus corazónes de esperanza y gozo!
