Excelsior Correspondent REASI, Dec 16: Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, YSS, Sunil Sharma today exhorted upon the officers to ensure effec- tive implementation of welfare and development schemes to facilitate the people lead a com- fortable and dignified life. "The Government is working under a well knit strategy to bring a planned and holistic development in the State with emphasis on unattended and unreachable parts", the Minister maintained. The Minister, while speaking at a public grievances redressal camp at Panasa Thakrakote , said that concerted efforts are being made to provide better road con- nectivity, clean drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and improved educational and health care system to the people. He said the initiatives of direct bene- fit transfer, digital India, GST, geo tagging are some of the major steps towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the system at all levels. The Minister said that both Central and State Governments are keen to work for the develop- ment of poor and marginalised sections of the society through new programmes and policies envisaging their socio-economic emancipation. Divulging on implementation of PMAY, the Minister said that uncovered BPL families would be surveyed for providing them benefits. The Minister also announced JKSRTC bus service from Jammu to Panasa saying that efforts would be made to start buses on other routes to facilitate the commuters of the area. He also announced playground at Panasa worth Rs.10 lakh on which the work will be taken up under convergence mode besides announcing Rs.20 lakh for con- struction of Dak Bunglow at Panasa. The Minister asked the con- cerned for preparing DPRs for Dharan road. During the camp, the locals raised several issues which inter alia include staff shortage in schools and hospitals, upgrada- tion of Rud bridge to Panasa road, construction of road to Thakrakote and Gundali, proper functioning of Anganwadi cen- ters, release of MGNREGA pay- ments, development of Gundali devsthan, updation of revenue records, proper survey of BPL families, grid station, proper survey under PMAY, new Sai Lanjan-Dharan road etc. Sunil Sharma assured the public of early redressal of their issues and directed the officers to take speedy action on the same. He also addressed many of the grievances put forth by the pub- lic on the spot while directing the officers for redressal of remain- ing issues at the earliest. The Phase I of the Institute would be completed at the esti- mated cost of Rs 6 crore by J&K Housing Board. Reiterating Government's commitment to provide quality education to the students, the Minister said numerous measures have been taken to improve the standard of education and initia- tives are afoot to develop infra- structure in all educational insti- tutions of the State. The Government has taken up the mission of development and is committed for equitable develop- ment of all three regions of the State, he added. The Minister also inspected the premises of the college and directed the concerned executing agency to speed up the pace of work on the project and complete it in a time bound manner. Referring to developmental works under execution in Kalakote, the Minister said the construction work on various projects are apace and will change the socio-economic con- dition of the people. On the occasion, the Minister said the students of the area were facing lot of difficulties in attain- ing higher education but the establishment of the college will provide them avenues of learn- ing. Man arrested with illicit liquor pouches Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 16: Pouni Chak police arrested a man and recov- ered illicit liquor pouches from his possession. As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Pouni Chak Police Post laid a naka at Patta Chungi and intercept- ed a vehicle. During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Bihari Lal, a resident of village Basti Gajansoo. REASI, Dec 16: Minister ofState for Transport (Independentcharge), Revenue, Public Works(Roads & Buildings), RuralDevelopment & Panchayati Raj,Agriculture Production, YSS,Sunil Sharma today exhortedupon the officers to ensure effec-tive implementation of welfareand development schemes tofacilitate the people lead a com-fortable and dignified life.
"The Government is workingunder a well knit strategy tobring a planned and holisticdevelopment in the State withemphasis on unattended andunreachable parts", the Ministermaintained.
The Minister, while speakingat a public grievances redressalcamp at Panasa Thakrakote , saidthat concerted efforts are beingmade to provide better road con-nectivity, clean drinking water,uninterrupted power supply andimproved educational and healthcare system to the people. Hesaid the initiatives of direct bene-fit transfer, digital India, GST,geo tagging are some of themajor steps towards ensuringtransparency and accountabilityin the system at all levels.
The Minister said that bothCentral and State Governmentsare keen to work for the develop-ment of poor and marginalisedsections of the society throughnew programmes and policiesenvisaging their socio-economicemancipation.

Divulging on implementationof PMAY, the Minister said thatuncovered BPL families wouldbe surveyed for providing thembenefits.
The Minister also announcedJKSRTC bus service fromJammu to Panasa saying thatefforts would be made to startbuses on other routes to facilitatethe commuters of the area. Healso announced playground atPanasa worth Rs.10 lakh onwhich the work will be taken upunder convergence mode besidesannouncing Rs.20 lakh for con-struction of Dak Bunglow atPanasa.
The Minister asked the con-cerned for preparing DPRs forDharan road.
During the camp, the localsraised several issues which inter
alia include staff shortage inschools and hospitals, upgrada-tion of Rud bridge to Panasaroad, construction of road toThakrakote and Gundali, properfunctioning of Anganwadi cen-ters, release of MGNREGA pay-ments, development of Gundalidevsthan, updation of revenuerecords, proper survey of BPLfamilies, grid station, propersurvey under PMAY, new SaiLanjan-Dharan road etc.
Sunil Sharma assured thepublic of early redressal of theirissues and directed the officers totake speedy action on the same.He also addressed many of thegrievances put forth by the pub-lic on the spot while directing theofficers for redressal of remain-ing issues at the earliest.

RAJOURI, Dec 16 : Ministerfor Animal, Sheep Husbandryand Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohlitoday laid the foundation ofGovernment Degree College,Kalakote.
The Phase I of the Institutewould be completed at the esti-mated cost of Rs 6 crore by J&KHousing Board.
Reiterating Government'scommitment to provide qualityeducation to the students, theMinister said numerous measureshave been taken to improve thestandard of education and initia-tives are afoot to develop infra-structure in all educational insti-tutions of the State. TheGovernment has taken up themission of development and iscommitted for equitable develop-ment of all three regions of theState, he added.
The Minister also inspectedthe premises of the college anddirected the concerned executingagency to speed up the pace of
work on the project and completeit in a time bound manner.
Referring to developmentalworks under execution inKalakote, the Minister said theconstruction work on variousprojects are apace and willchange the socio-economic con-dition of the people.
On the occasion, the Ministersaid the students of the area werefacing lot of difficulties in attain-ing higher education but theestablishment of the college willprovide them avenues of learn-ing.
Later, the Minister also con-vened a public meeting in whichthe locals put forth their demandsand problems. After hearing theirdemands, the Minister assuredfor early redressal of theirdemands and said theGovernment is taking one stepafter the other for the welfare ofthe common masses and specialstress is being laid on upliftmentof poor, women, youth, farmers,border people and downtroddensections of the society.
Man arrested with illicitliquor pouches

JAMMU, Dec 16: Pouni Chak police arrested a man and recov-ered illicit liquor pouches from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team fromPouni Chak Police Post laid a naka at Patta Chungi and intercept-ed a vehicle.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquorfrom the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified asSuresh Kumar, son of Bihari Lal, a resident of village Basti Gajansoo.
A case under FIR Number 385/17 under relevant section hasbeen registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pouni Chak Police Post SI ArunSlathia made the arrest under the supervision of SHO DomanaInspector Sumeet Sharma, SDPO Domana Sandeep Gupta and SPRural Shivdeep Singh.
