NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

A new adult Sunday School class will begin on Sun-day, August 16, 2015, at 9:45 A.M. in the Parlor. Laura Richardson will teach the class and lead discus-sion, as a news story from the current week is exam-ined, investigated, compared with scripture, and made personally relevant in our real lives. There'll be a differ-ent news story every week, different scriptures, differ-ent discussion -- we love different! If you're not coming to Sunday School, it's time to do yourself a favor and start. Laura isn't just a glorious soprano -- she's also an experienced Bible teacher and a savvy professional woman. Child care is provided. There's coffee in Fel-lowship Hall. What's not to love? See you on August 16th!

BRIDGE FAMILY BASKETS For those of you who are not familiar with what this ministry is about, I would like to try to explain, and I ask that you open your heart to the love of Jesus Christ to listen. We are a group of your church family trying to follow

Jesus’ instruction to love one another. What is love? Well, to us, one way is to be there to help in any way one of our families may need. We meet the second Thursday of each month, and hand craft supplies to fill care baskets for our homebound members, for those dealing with long term illness, or members going through long term treatments. Another way is we schedule visits to deliver these items to our family and friends. We write notes and make muffins or other goodies for follow-up visits. We also do crafts to sell at various times to help with the cost of supplies. We are a group of people with different talents that we share to create gifts for those we cherish. Do you need a specific tal-ent???? Heavens, NO! We share our talents, we learn from each other, we support our mission. There are members who cannot sew, but can follow directions to cut. There are members who cannot put feelings into words, but can copy poems for our cards. Some can bake, some can fill baskets, and some can sit and give the gift of gab (talk), giving others support in specific areas. Many of our group feel more comfortable in the back-ground and some love to visit. We need everyone. With enough volunteers, we would like to schedule a specific day each month for visits to our homebound or anyone needing a little TLC. Our recent church survey showed there are more interested in this program than the amount of participation we currently have. Any of you who are interested, please join us 8/13/15 at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall to experience what we are all about. We need your participation, ideas, and fellowship to keep this ministry going. Call Sue Scheer at 770-957-2475 if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions.
