COMMITTEE NIGHT August 21st is Committee Night. We will kick-off a new year of church ministry during our an-nual ―Committee Night‖ gathering. All committee members are encouraged to attend for an in-spirational time led by the Church Council as we begin an exciting year of ministry. COLLEGE STUDENTS We would like to have current addresses for our FBC college students. If you can please email the church office.

Wednesday Night Youth Bible Study We are still having Youth Bible Study on Wednesday nights in The Ark. We begin around 6:00 and will be there for a while doing Bible study and playing games. We will return to having service at 6:30 on Wednesday, August 17th. Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal Wednesday Night Fellowship Meals will begin on Wednesday, August 17th. The youth are in charge of the meal every 3rd Wednesday. We will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs. This is a chance to make money to help pay for M-Fuge or any other mission activities in the Summer. You need to be at the Fellowship Hall at 4:30 or as soon as possible to help set up and to help clean up after the meal. This made lots of money for those who participated every month. M-Fuge We will be going back to North Greenville University for M-Fuge next year. The dates are June 12-17, 2017. The cost will be $300. Mark your calendars. A $50 deposit will be due by January. See Scott to get signed up and pay your deposit. Dominican Republic Mission Trip We are going to the Dominican Republic during Spring Break. The cost for the trip will be around $1200 (depending on the cost of plane tickets). Make plans to join us. It is open for anyone, but you must have a chaperone if you are under the age of 15. You will need a passport, so start making plans. In His Love, Pastor Scott

PRE-K CORNER Getting Ready for Another Great School Year in Pre-K! We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 29 preschoolers who will attend the FBC Pre-K School beginning on August 8! Our daily focus is that these young boys and girls will learn and grow through Jesus as we teach them that they are "Special Creations" of God. Our main Bible verse for this school year is "Oh God, You are my God; Early will I seek You..." Psalm 63:1 (New King James Version) We are privileged to offer a Bible-based, Christ-centered school that offers an age-appropriate, quality learning envi-ronment. As our main resource, we use the Weekday Early Education (WEE) curriculum to provide opportunities for our 3 and 4 year olds to learn about God's world and how to live in it. Through the WEE program, our teachers utilize Bible stories, lessons, and activities that include pre-reading, pre-writing, number skills, literacy awareness, and phonological awareness. The students' learning is en-hanced weekly as they participate in areas such as art, construction, drama, games, listening, music, and nature. It is both our privilege and responsibility, as a Christian school, to teach, model, and encourage the love of God to our students through example. We give praise and thanks to God for His continued provision in making this program a success. We covet your prayers and on-going support for this exemplary pre-k school ministry! Kid’s Hope USA

We are starting a new men-toring ministry for at-risk chil-dren in our Wilkes Country school system. This is a won-derful way to develop a meaningful one-on-one rela-tionship with a child as you spend one hour per week as their mentor.

There will be a brief informational meeting on Sunday, August 21 @ 5:30 p.m. in the Confer-ence Room to learn more about this new minis-try and how you can be involved. We will also offer a training event on Monday, September 12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Please see our Kid’s Hope Director, Mandy Jackson for more information.

HELP NEEDED FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEALS

Our regular Wednesday night schedule will resume on August 17th and will begin with our fellowship supper at 5:45 p.m. followed at 6:30 p.m. with Preschool Music & Missions, RA's/GA's, Youth Bible Study and Adult Prayer Meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and connection with our church family. Different groups pro-vide our Wednesday night meals and we are looking for additional volunteers to help with this important ministry. We ask for $6/person with a maximum charge of $18/family. We average 60 people each week and the money brought in this past year enabled our church to con-tribute over $3,000 to our youth ministry for their trip to M-Fuge, over $1,000 to our children's ministry for their trip to CentriKid and another $1,000 for our adult mission trip fund that helped send our mission team to Canada. This is an opportunity to help promote fellowship within our church, build unity, strengthen relationships and provide generous support for our children, youth and missions! You can volunteer one time or one Wednesday each month. All you need is a small team of helpers (i.e. 2 or 3 families, Sunday School Class, Missions Group) and a simple kid-friendly menu. The Youth Ministry provides an "All American" meal on the 3rd Wednesday of each month that includes hamburgers & hot dogs, the Brotherhood prepares breakfast every 4th Wednesday, and The Madden’s have a team that prepares a Mexican-themed meal each month. You could provide pizza and salad and a simple dessert or whatever menu you desire. If you would like to help with this ministry please contact the church office. A huge "thank you" to all those who help make Wednesday nights at FBC so special!

NOTE OF THANKS Thank you, FBC, for all you do for us at Endeavor Church and for our Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you for continuing to bless us with your love, prayers and support. We are praying for you all and thanking God for you all. We love you!

In Christ—Keith & Coy Pierce, Endeavor Church Atlanta
