With its high performance switching and routing, Summit X480 helps enhance the data center, Carrier Ethernet and enterprise aggregation network.
SummitStack – High-Performance StackingSummitX480supportsSummitStack,whichprovides40Gbps(VIM2-SummitStack),80Gbps(VIM2-SummitStack-V80)or128Gbps(VIM2-SummitStack128)ofstackingbandwidth.High-speed128Gbpsstackingisidealfordemandingapplicationswhereahighvolumeoftraffictraversesthroughthestackinglinks,yetbandwidthisnotcompromisedthroughstacking.High-speedstackingisveryusefulinapplicationssuchastopofrackwhenstackedwithSummitX480andSummitX650(requiresoptionalconversioncable)andgigabitaggregationinlargeenterpriseordatacenternetworks.Withthelongerstackingcablessuchas5-meters,stackingcanbeconfiguredthroughdifferentrackshorizontallyinarow(seeFigure3)asopposedtotypicalstackingsysteminstalledverticallyinarack.
