1 KAZI SummerFest 2013 31st Anniversary Celebration KAZI invites you to be a part of SummerFest 2013. In the rich tradition of having a reach and emphasis on media access for the black community and other groups previously unserved by radio here in Austin, KAZI is celebrating 31 years of service to Austin and the surrounding areas. On Saturday August 24, 2013 from 12 -10pm KAZI presents SummerFest 2013. A celebration honoring and recognizing the great impact of Austin Community Radio. This year there will be a featured performance by Yarbrough & Peoples. Best known for their single “Donʼt Stop the Music,” Yarbrough & Peoples will headline the evening with that funky style we used to call boogie/ soul that they were known for in the early ʻ80s. SummerFest will provide a series of community seminars, led by KAZI talk show hosts to address some the critical issues facing the Austin community. These seminars will be facilitated by KAZIʼs most popular talk show hosts and will attract their most loyal listeners. These seminars will also provide a wealth of information and resources sure to appeal to our community. KAZI is a noncommercial educational station founded in 1982 to meet the listening needs of Austin ʼ s African American community with a wide variety of music including rhythm and blues, hip hop, gospel, jazz, and reggae; and public affairs programming.
