All activities are handled on a first come, first serve basis for residents and seasonal vacationers. The Ocean City Community Services Department and the Division of Recreation Programs
reserves the right to cancel or make changes to any program due to lack of registration, inclement weather or reasons beyond
our control. Programs, dates and times are subject to change due to availability of facilities.

that space will be offered to the first person on the waiting list. The Division of Recreation insists that a
child should never be left at an activity or program before the person in charge arrives to accept responsibility for that
participant. It is the obligation of the parent or guardian to be aware of program schedule and times.

Experience a Bayside Camp sandcastle contest. Explore marine biology and animals that may be swimming nearby. Find out why we have tides that make the ocean come in and go out every day. * Friday, June 24th will be a “beach day”. Drop-off location will be 5th and the Boardwalk. *Trouble in the Atlantic and Titanic* Take a step back in time and board the Titanic. Explore the different parts of the ship, learn how the Titanic was made, and the sequence of events that led to its demise. Each student will be given a Boarding Pass with a passenger’s name and biography and discover what happened to that passenger. *Friday, June 24th will be a beach day”. Water Wars: Kraken vs. Megalodon Squid vs. an ancient giant shark. Octopus vs. a Great White. Cuttlefish vs. Cookie Cutter Shark. Some of the mightiest battles in the ocean! Study the world of the cephalopods and realm of the ancient sharks. Sharks have been on Earth for over 400 million years and considered living fossils (they were around when dinosaurs where roaming the Earth). Then switch gears as you dive into the deep with the world of the creepy cephalopods!

Intense Inventions Who will be the next great inventor the world has ever known! It very well may be you! You will have an opportunity to become one of the next crea-tors of a new exciting goods and services. Campers will examine important and sometimes odd technology and inventions of the past, present and future and how each has shaped how we love as humans today. Campers will design their own product and be CEO and inventor of a one-of-a-kind creation.

Slime, Goo and Poison Too The title tells it all! Spend a week getting down and dirty in the world of toxicology of slime, goo and chemicals. Conduct experiments as you learn all about how animal toxicology is needed to ensure and help human and animal health and protection of Earth’s habitat. Note: +Campers may get
messy during the experiments+ Movie Magic Lights...camera...action...Bayside...cut! Investigate the special effects of some famous movies and experience what it’s like to be an actor/actress! Campers will write and produce their own mini-movie as a concluding activ-ity at this camp. You will learn what it takes to create realistic elements in order to take audiences on eye-opening adventures. It’s show time!

*Fishing Fundamentals (Maximum of 12 campers per session)* Learn the fundamentals of fishing as you cast a rod off the docks. Make your own lures; see different fishing methods and learn about different species of fish that live off the coast of Ocean City. There will be mini-fishing lessons followed by application through actual fishing experiences. *Field trip this week will be a visit to the Wetlands Institute of Stone Harbor* +This camp will offer both a morning and afternoon session. From the 9am-12pm session, ages 7 to 9 are invited to participate as junior fisher folk! From the 1-4pm session, ages 10 to 12 will be apprentice fisher folk!+

July 11 - 15 Sharks, Rays and Skates
How are they different from bony fish like goldfish and tuna? Study the more than 375 species of sharks, rays and skates. Learn about their anat-omy and behaviors and how they haven’t faced extinction in more than 40 million years. There will be audio and visual components with this camp, including interactive video activity.

*Ghost Busting at the Shore* (suggested ages 9—12 years) What is that creaking noise that is heard on the stairs? I fear not . . . We are here to observe and infer all about the strangely cool and interesting world of the paranormal side of Ocean City. Don’t worry though, it’s all for fun! We will be conducting mock paranormal experiments and activities that relate to the wonderfully mysterious world of the supernatural. Get on that ghost busting gear!
Pre-historic Life Learn all about geologic time as you soar through the history of the Earth. Learn about dinosaurs, where modern day reptiles came from and how life evolved. Make fossils, construct dinosaurs and be a saber tooth tiger. En-joy a visit to the Ocean City beach and learn how life came from the ocean!

*Boardwalk Sci/Action, Amusements, Adventure!* From K’Nex and Legos to Kigda Ka and Space Mountain, our campers will be catapulted into adventure! Campers will construct scaled mini attrac-tions that will feature the greatness of force, motion and energy. We will examine “Top Lists” and fun filled facts and info regarding what it truly takes to make some of the most awesome and jaw dropping and thrilling rides and attractions in the entire world. We will cap it off with a walking trip to the Ocean City boardwalk’s Go-Carts.
Tour the US: Taste Test Laboratory This is Baysides’s most delicious and enticing offering! We will focus on each of the nation’s states and capture regional delights. Campers will be learning about planting and agriculture while we plant seeds and monitor the growth while tasting many different fruits and vegetables from around the US. +A permission slip will be needed as acknowledgement of any food allergies+

Cool Chemistry What are matter, density, salinity, reactants, solutions, mixtures and solvents? What do pennies and toothpicks have to do with chemistry? Recreate Frankenstein’s hand, make a penny cup game, make ice cream and slime—these are some of the experiments for the week. +Ice cream-making will include ingredi-ents containing dairy.+
*Pirates (maximum of 15)* What say you matey! Take a trip back to the Golden age Piracy and the Spanish Main. Receive your pirate name, jog on board, construct your pirate flag, pick your animal and make a treasure map! Learn about some of the most famous pirates in history and maybe stage a mutiny! Will there be a treasure in the chest this year? Lots of adventures with this experience. *Will take a pirate voyage aboard the Sea Dragon*

From the 1-4pm session, ages 10 to 12 will be apprentice fisher folk!+
*Hunt for Hidden Animals* Wait a minute . . . was that Bigfoot or the Yeti?? Become a crypto zoologist and experience a couple of days in the life of an animal researcher and scientist. Campers will fictionally encounter beings like the Loch Ness Monster, Jersey Devil, Bigfoot, Goat Man, Yeti, merepeople, werewolves, vampires, leprechauns and many more! Campers will also use their imagination and come up with their own animal!
