This summer Mary Eiken received one of four scholarships from AFLV (Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values) to attend their LeaderShape session at the University of Kansas. The session was a week-long, intensive course, and was hosted in the Delta Gamma house on campus at KU. During this session, Mary, along with all of the attendees, had the opportunity to discover more about her own leadership styles, learn how to work better with other strong leaders, and make lasting friendships through unique experiences with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Mary also had time to develop a vision for the future and set her own goals for the Delta Alpha chapter and Greek life at UWL.

Summer Retreat:

This year for our summer retreat, we headed to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to renew our sisterhood and plan for the upcoming year. Mary Eiken, Membership Vice President, was able to guide us through tips and tricks to a flawless recruitment. From practicing our scoring system on celebrities, to making our fall semester goals - we are prepared to take this semester by storm and get a record number of new members to the Delta Alpha Chapter. We are really excited about this upcoming semester and all the wonderful opportunities that we have in store. If you are interested in volunteering to help out with our recruitment, please contact Mary Eiken at [email protected] we would love to have you!

Alpha  Xi  Delta’s  50th  National  Convention:  San  Francisco,  California

The Delta Alpha Chapter was able to send three women to the 50th National Convention. Devan Galbraith (President), Mary Eiken (Membership Vice President) and Ashley Konkel (Panhellenic President, Alumnae Relations Chair and New Member Orientation Chair) had a fantastic time and learned so many new things to bring back to the chapter. This year we won three awards Outstanding Academic Achievement, #1 GPA of Greeks on Campus, and Financial Efficiency Certificate of Merit. Our chapter is honored to have received such awards and we were thankful to have representation at this year’s convention.
