Summer Homework Calendar  

Incoming PK-4   2019 - 2020 

Dear Parents,  Homework time is a special time for you to spend with your child. These activities were designed to complement and reinforce our learning at school. Each activity has a task that should be completed in the journal. The required daily assignments and due dates are listed on each monthly calendar. You should spend about 15 minutes on these tasks with your child.   You may notice that some of the activities involve helping at home and spending time with the family. As parents, you play a key role this summer as there will be times where you will need to scribe and record any and all of their thinking for activities that call for it. All of these activities are purposeful. They teach skills like responsibility, independence, cooperation and teamwork. These are all important life skills that students need to learn at a young age.   Ms. Inés & Sra. Yesenia          

  Estimados padres de Familia,  El tiempo de hacer la tarea es un tiempo especial para pasar con su hijo/hija. Estas actividades fueron diseñadas para complementar y reforzar nuestro aprendizaje en la escuela. Cada actividad tiene también una tarea para completar en el paquete de tareas. El número de asignaciones mensuales requeridos y fechas de vencimiento se muestran en cada calendario. Debe de tomar alrededor de 15 minutos en estas tareas con su nino/nina.    Podrán notar que algunas de las actividades implican ayudar en casa y pasar tiempo con la familia. Padres, ustedes juegan un papel importante este verano, ya que habrá momentos en los que usted será el que escribirá por su nino/nina y registrará todos y cada uno de su pensamientos para cada actividad que se necesite. Todas estas actividades tienen un propósito. Pues les enseñan habilidades como la responsabilidad, la independencia, la cooperación y el trabajo en equipo. Todas estas son habilidades importantes que los estudiantes deben aprender a una edad temprana.  Ms. Inés y Sra. Yesenia

along with the date and any evidence of thinking for that activity.   ● We have provided you with a few journal pages. Please feel free to make more copies or make your

1. Count the doors in your house.   

2. Try to write your name with a crayon. Ask for adult help if needed.  

3. Represent the number four using different materials. example: play dough, rocks, sticks etc. 

4. Search for five rectangles and five triangles.  

5. Look for 10 letters of the alphabet that are outside your house.  

6. Think of a way to create your name for example with uncooked pasta, seeds or grains, sticks or plant stems. try to paste it on your journal.  

7. Represent the number five using different materials. For example: playdough, rocks, sticks etc.  

8. Go on a “number hunt” for the numbers 0-10. 

9. Search for five flowers and draw a picture of the place you saw them. 

10. Ask your parents to read a book with you. After, choose two pages for you to find/ identify the vowels you can see. 

1. Cuenta las puertas en tu casa 

2. Escribe tu nombre con un lapicero. Pida ayuda un adulto si necesitas. 

3. Representa el número cuatro usando diferentes materiales. por ejemplo: palos, piedras, play dough etc 

4. Busca cinco rectángulos y cinco triángulos. 

5. Busque 10 letras del abecedario que estén fuera de su casa..  

6. Piensa una forma de crear tu nombre usando por ejemplo espagueti, semillas o semillas de hortalizas como el frijol. trata de pegarlo en tu diario. 

7. Representa el número cinco usando diferentes materiales. por ejemplo: palos, piedras, play dough etc 

8. Anda en una “búsqueda de números” de 0-20 

9. Busca cinco flores rojas y haz un dibujo de el sitio donde las viste.. 

10. Pide a tus padres que lean un libro contigo. Después, escoge dos páginas en las que tendrás que buscar e identificar todas las vocales que ves.  

1. Visit a park in your neighbourhood or an outdoor space that you like 

2. Count the doors in your house. Draw them and write the total number.   

3. Go for a walk together and collect rocks. Compare sizes and shapes. 

4. Think of three animals that live in the jungle and three that live in the forest. Draw them on your Journal.  

5. Draw a picture of your country’s flag.  

6. Find three triangles in your house. Draw a picture of each of the triangles you found.

8. Count all the picture frames at home.

10. With your parents, cut out the letters of your name from a magazine or newspaper. 

11. Think of someone dear to you, someone that you love very much- and say a prayer to Jesus with your parent. For example, a friend, a family member, a teacher… 

12. Ask your parents if they can help you find a Statue of Our Lady Mary Mother of Jesus in your neighborhood. if you find one, take (or bring?) her some flowers!!   

13. Ask a parent to read a Story aloud to you (a story that can take more than 3min to read) ask them write the title of the story you listened to. Who was your favorite character?Can you draw a picture? 

14. Find 5 things the begin with the letter S.  

15. Think and Invent a story. Draw a picture and ask a parent to add notes.  

16. Identify all the number 2’s on the grocery receipts.  

17. Cut and Paste Activity: Page 3 “Letters of Basketball” page 4 “Letter Correspondence” 

18. Make your name out of cereal and eat it. 

19. Think of a profession that helps your community (bus driver, firefighter...etc). Try to meet one in your neighbourhood, ask his name and when you get home, draw a picture of him.  

20. Find 7 things around the house or outside, that begin with the letter P. 

1. Visita un parque en tu barrio o un lugar afuera que te guste.   

2. Cuentas cuantas puertas tienes en tu casa, dibujarlas y escribe el número total. 

3. Vayan a caminar juntos y coleccionen rocas. Comparen sus tamaños y formas. 

4. Piense en tres animales que viven en la jungla y tres que viven en el bosque. Trata de dibujarlos en tu Diario.  

5. Haz un dibujo de la bandera de tu país. 

6. Busca tres triángulos en tu casa. Haz un dibujo de lo que encontraste.

8. Cuenta cuántos marcos de fotos tienes en tu casa.

10. Con tus padres, corta letras de tu nombre de un periódico o revista. 

11. Piensa en alguien que quieres mucho -reza una oración a Jesús y pide por esa persona.  

12. Escribe tu primer nombre y apellido. 

13. Pregunta a uno de tus padres que te lea una historia (una que no sea breve) pideles a tus padres que escriban el Título de la historia, quién fue tu personaje favorito? haz un dibujo. 

14. Encuentra 5 cosas que comienzan con S. 

15. Piensa e inventate una historia. haz un dibujo y pide que un adulto añade notas. 

16. Identifique todos los números 2 en un recibo de compras del supermercado.  

17. Corta y Pega: Página 3 “Letras del baloncesto” Página 4 “Letras correspondientes” 

18. Haz tu nombre de cereal. y después comelo! 

19. Piensa en una profesión que ayuda a tú comunidad (conductor de bus, bombero...etc). Trata de conocer a uno de tu comunidad, pregúntale su nombre y cuando llegues a casa, haz un dibujo.  

20. Encuentra 7 cosas en tu casa, o afuera que comienzan con P.

2. Find 6 squares around your house and draw a picture of the objects you found. 

3. Write your name with yellow crayon. 

4. Visit the public library. Pick a book to take home and ask your your mom or dad to read aloud. 

5. Ask your parents to help you cut out letters from a magazine or newspaper. 

6. Think of something that makes you very happy, then ask your mom or dad to write it down.  

7. Circle all the 5’s on a grocery receipt.  

8. Find 7 things that begin with the letter T. 

9. Find 5 things that begin with the letter M. 

10. Visit the public library. Take the book you borrowed last week .But before, write: THANK YOU! on a note and stick it inside the book. 

11. Make a list of different ways to make 8. 

12. Draw a picture of things in our world that are blue.  

13. Draw a picture of things that you see at the beach or Park (an outdoor space) and label each object.  

14. Make your home a Restaurant (Day 1) - Ask your mother or 

father that you’d like to pick a day to have a special dinner all together. Pick a day and time on the calendar that works for all the family. 

- You will have to think of the menu, what to eat for first course and the dessert.  

- What will you need for the first course? And for the dessert?  

15. Make your home a Restaurant -Day 2 - Gather the utensils 

and set the table. Carefully placing each place with everything you will need to have dinner: fork, knife, spoon, paper napkins, water pitcher, individuals or tablecloth… (maybe you can also find some flowers in the center!) Ask if you can help prepare the food: cutting, mixing, pouring, serving… 

- Enjoy!! And If you can, ask a parent to take a picture !! or draw a picture of the food and table setting you prepared. 

1. Con tus padres corta imagenes que comiencen con B. 

2. Encuentra 6 cuadrados en tu casa y haz un dibujo de lo que encontraste.  

3. Escribe tu nombre con crayola amarilla.  

4. Visiten la biblioteca pública escoge un libro para llevarte a casa para que tu mamá o papá hagan un rato de lectura oral contigo. 

5. Pregúntale a tus padres por ayuda para cortar letras de un periódico y revista. 

6. Piensa en una cosa que te hace feliz y pídele a papá o mamá que lo escriba.  

7. Haz un círculo a todos los 5 en un recibo de compras de mercado. 

8. Encuentra 7 cosas que comienzen con la letra T. 

9. Encuentra 7 cosas que comienzen con la letra M. 

10. Visiten la biblioteca pública. Aprovecha para devolver el libro que tomaste prestado. Pero antes, en una nota escribe: GRACIAS y metelo en la primera página del libro. 

11. Haz el número 8 de diferentes maneras.  

12.Haz un dibujo de cosas en nuestro mundo que son azul.  

13. Haz un dibujo de varias cosas que ves en la playa o bosque (lugar exterior) y describirlos.  

14. Tú Casa, un Restaurante (día 1) - Pide a tus padres que te 

gustaría hacer una cena especial todos juntos. Busca el día y hora en el Calendario que convenga para toda la familia..  

- Piensa en el menú; qué comer y el postre. 

- Piensa los ingredientes vas a necesitar 

- Piensa en los utensilios que vas a necesitar para cocinar  

- Preguntale a tu madre que te ayude a buscar todo lo que necesitas y ver si necesitas ir al supermercado. 

15. Tú Casa, un Restaurante - Prepara los utensilios e 

ingredientes y con ayuda de tu madre empieza a cocinar! Sobretodo ayuda con las mezclar, cortar, pelar, servir... 

- Con atención cuenta cuántas personas van a cenar para preparar la mesa. Cuántos tenedores, cuchillos, servilletas, jarro de agua, mantel, cuchara...  

- y a disfrutar!! Si puedes, haz una foto o dibuja en un papel la cena que preparaste!
