Phase Four! As Illinois moves into “Phase Four”, so does the church here at South Side.
Here is how we have gone through this pandemic as far Sunday services go: Phase One (March 16-May 9): No Services for the first SEVEN Sundays. Phase Two (May 10-June 6): FOUR Sundays we held FOUR identical services to
stay within the ten person state limitations. Phase Three (June 7-June 27): THREE Sundays we held TWO identical services
to stay within the state recommendation of 25% capacity of the building. Phase Four (Began Sunday June 28): ONE service, along with Sunday School
and Evening service and mid-week Bible study! WOW! Now that has been challenging! With the covid 19, and many other
viruses, still out there, we continue to take precautions to keep people safe and healthy as they attend services.
Oh, one other thing, that some do not know took place while we have been in the midst of this pandemic—EVERY service, from the very beginning, including Sunday AM & PM and Wednesday evenings, and a couple of bonus times, have been on Facebook LIVE. We have broadcasted FORTY-FOUR times LIVE and have reached hundreds of people with the Gospel. I will refrain from naming people to thank, because I don’t want to miss anyone; but there have been LOTS of people who have had the “do what it takes” attitude through all of this and have helped me our so much! Thank you all SO MUCH!
The church NEVER closed! Oh, we may not have met for several Sundays, but one CANNOT stop the church. Jesus said something like that in Matthew 16 when He said that even the gates of Hades cannot stop the church!
So church—South Side Church of Christ—stay strong through this next phase! Remember to respect others by maintaining “social distancing”, face coverings—you know the routine! And give God ALL the glory for ALL that He does day in and day out for each of us—but ESPECIALLY for what He did for our salvation!
