Summer 2016 AS Re-sit Fees The mock examination results slip will be released to students on Monday 25 th January 2016. Student’s examination re-sit options will be available on the lower section of the results slip. It must be stressed that it is counter-productive for students to attempt too many re-sits alongside the new A2 module examinations. Blackpool Sixth, therefore, only permit students to take a maximum of four AS re-sit examinations in the summer. Students will have the opportunity to receive advice and guidance from teachers, Heads of Department and their Pastoral Mentors before deciding which modules, if any, to re-sit. Examination boards charge an entry fee for all external examinations. Students who choose to re-sit an individual examination will have to pay the entry fee themselves. Payment for re-sits is made at the time of application. A full list of examination costs is attached for your information. The deadline for submitting re-sit applications, together with payment of the appropriate examination fees, is Friday 12 th February 2016. Application forms must be returned initially to the Examinations Office (room B014) for checking before payment is made. Students experiencing financial hardship may be able to obtain a short-term loan or grant from the hardship fund to cover some of the costs of re-sit fees. Further details and application forms will be available from the Student Finance Office.
