Summary Report www.rku.ac.in/spt Summary Report on Physiofest 2016 - 7 th National Level Physiotherapy Summit held at School of Physiotherapy, RK University on 29 th & 30 th April, 2016 “Physiotherapy – The Prism of Possibilities” Shri Shamjibhai Harjibhai Talaviya Charitable (SHTC) Trust managed School of Physiotherapy, RK University (RKU) organises NATIONAL LEVEL PHYSIOTHERAPY SUMMIT – physiofest every year since 2009 to provide a platform for physiotherapy students to exchange the knowledge and share the skills. Physiofest 2016, the 7 th summit, scheduled on 29 th & 30 th April 2016 on focal theme “Physiotherapy –The Prism of Possibilities”. The event was inaugurated in divine presence of students’ delegates, principals from various institutes, faculties and Executive Vice President Mr. Denish Patel, Registrar, Shri Shivlal Ramani. More than 500 participants has attended two days summit and participated in various curricular and extracurricular activities & competitions in two days of Gala. Day one was focused on workshops on Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) by Dr. R. Harihara Prakash, Neuro developmental Therapy (NDT) by Dr. Savji Nakum, Antenatal & Postnatal Physiotherapy Management by Dr. Shlesha Vaidya and various sports & cultural events like Rangoli competition, Facial & T-shirt paintings, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball etc… Day two, scientific events started with “panel discussion” On Professionalism in Physiotherapy Practice with renowned academician Dr. Navjyot Trivedi, Principal, Shree Sahjanand Institute of Physiotherapy, Bhavnagar, Dr. Dhara Kotak, Clinical Therapist, Rajkot, Dr. Amit Vaghela, Owner of Physiofit, Morbi, Dr. Pinal Mashru, community physiotherapist, Keshod. Moreover, Quiz competition, Poster and Paper Presentations, Innovative Exhibition of physiotherapy, Academic Excellence Award 2016, students Seminars & expert talk on focal theme “Prism of Possibilities” focused on Current & future perspective of Physiotherapy practice. As per tradition, physioforum – ISBN approved Physiotherapy newsletter was released which includes summary of physiofest 2016, abstracts of research papers awarded and achievement of delegates in physiofest 2016. On successful conduct of the the event Physiofest 2016, President Shri Khodidas Bhai Patel, Vice- Chancellor Prof. Ranjit Goswami, Director Dr. Priyanshu Rathod, and Deputy Director Dr. Amit Sharma congratulated all the faculties and students for their overall effort.
