A building-wide composting and recycling program helps divert around 60 percent of the building’s waste away from landfills, and a rooftop solar array produces energy for building tenants. Using water-conserving fixtures and energy-efficient designs and practices, SugarCube has reduced its water usage to 30 percent below accepted usage targets and is among the top 23 percent of similar buildings in the country in terms of energy efficiency.
