Roads nominated by local residents to become a NCCZ are required to meet proportionality criteria. If the criteria are met, a NCCZ can be set up by Trading Standards in partnership with the local community, Suffolk Police and partners. If doorstep cold calling is carried out by a trader in a NCCZ a criminal offence may have occurred. Suffolk Trading Standards can investigate the cold call and can take action using Consumer Protection legislation. Suffolk NCCZ’s are identified via street signage and doorstep stickers.
