    CHAPTER

    OFFICERS

    Knights of Columbus

Vol. 15 No. 12 June 20SUFFOLK CHAPTER NEWS

From the Chapter Chairman’s Desk …

My Dear Brother Knights, This is a reminder that our June Chapter meeting will be held at Our

Lady of the Rosary Council in Deer Park on the THIRD FRIDAY IN JUNE(JUNE 17th). The elections will be held at this meeting. We will also becelebrating State Deputy Night. Our Worthy State Deputy Robert Weitzmanwill be our guest at this meeting. Please try to attend.

I would like to thank Chairman Norm Wagner for doing such a great job with Clergy Night. Clergy Night celebrates our Chaplains, it would be

nice if next year ALL of the Grand Knights would bring their Chaplains to behonored.

As you know Paul Basileo and his team are hard at work on ourcurrent Charity Drive. Please give them your full support to make this fundraiser a success. They would appreciate any assistance that you canprovide. Now is the time to make your reservations for the Charity Ball onJune 26

th. It prevents a lot of confusion if your reservations are made early,

instead of waiting until the last minute.

Bill Ratzsch is in charge of scheduling our Chapter Meetings for next

year. Please contact him at 631-588-7792 to volunteer your Council to hosta meeting.

Please let me know if there is anything that you are actuallyinterested in doing. I am always open to new ideas.Dates to Remember:6/17- Chapter Meeting OLOR in Deer Park PLEASE NOTE, THIS MEETING IS BEING HELD ON THE THIRDFRIDAY.6/26- Charity Ball- Watermill Inn.Let us remember all in need of our prayers:

In 1954, lobbying by the Order of the Knights of Columbushelped convince the U.S. Congress to add the phrase "under

God" to the Pledge of Allegiance.  President Dwight

Eisenhower wrote to Supreme Knight Luke E. Hart thankingthe Knights for their "part in the

movement to have the words 'under God'added to our Pledge of Allegiance."

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for

which it stands, one nation under God,indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. ”
