Wednesday 9th November 2016

Welcome to week 6 everyone. The weather is warming up that is for sure. It will be nice to see some rain to cool things down and breathe some life into the grass.

Facebook

Facebook can be a wonderful tool to catch up with

old friends and share events and good thoughts.

Unfortunately when used for negative purposes it

can be a very dangerous tool. At times a child

might go home and report something to a parent

which can cause upset. However before releasing

anger onto Facebook the best option is to contact

the school and make sure of the facts before

reacting in a very negative manner. As is often the

case there can be more to the story than what the

child has told the parent. Please discuss any

concerns or issues with the school so that together

the issue can be dealt with and managed. Don’t

take to social media and make comments that you

might regret at a later date. We are working hard

to teach and model positive behaviour to our

students, let us all as a community remember that.

Our Local Indigenous Artist Wayne Krause has certainly changed the look of our staffroom with his artwork. The students have been very interested in the painting and some have helped out which makes the project even more special. Wayne has told the students the story behind the painting and the significance of the animals.

New Staff for 2017 At the end of this year we will say a sad goodbye to Renee Laing and Alex Hodgson. They are moving on to the Brisbane area. I am sure they are both excited at the prospect of the next chapter in their life. I know that they both will be missed by our community. We will also farewell Lydia Wullems.

Lydia has a love for science and hatching chickens which has been very exciting for us all.

We have three new permanent teachers for next year. Joining our staff we have Taylor Gierke, Heidi Dale and Tyrone Sullivan.

Next year we will be offering Manual Arts and an Arts program.

P-2 Playground The new playground is almost ready for opening. It has been a long wait for the students but we are almost there, we are just waiting on a bit more sand to be delivered.

School Chaplain Our Chaplain is working in classrooms providing social skilling programs. It is very important that our students learn to care for each other and to work together. Let’s value the great work that our staff do I would like to thank the dedicated staff at Theodore State School who care deeply for every single student at this school and are constantly striving to improve student learning outcomes. Our staff are very proactive in all that relates to school operations. Our staff need to be applauded.

roster so you can catch up with friends at the same

time, please feel free to do so. Just let Steph Tucker

know the details.

On the 18th November we are going

to have a special Tuckshop Day.

The menu for First Break will consist

of:- Hot Dog and cheese (bread
