3159 ECR mIXED USESet in Palo Alto, in between downtown and mountain View, this mixed use project is first of it’s kind on El Camino Real. Under the supervision of a Project Archi-tect, each designer had their designated areas that was developed overtime. Key factors were consultant co-ordination (particularly structure, landscape and mEP for my assigned areas). The different mixed occupancy was a great introduction of CBC for fire rating and exit requirements.

Using traditional, simple aesthetics, the collaborative process between client and fgy gave me insight on building methodology specific to Northern California, and to City of Palo Alto. I was involved in the design development, permit and CD set development process. having hands on experience with developing a project in various phases has been invaluable. The level of attention and detail gave me insight on how to create quality, high end work. The high collaborative process between the architect, client, city and consultants gave me great skills in research, coordination, client relations and a better understanding of wood con-struction methodology. CARS DB1The client requested a feasibility study of mixed use project in the revitalization district of Arlington. Work-ing closely with Arlington Counting Planning officials, I incorporated the local form Based Code (fBC) into the site design. furthermore, my research on the fBC led to a modern interpretation of the building facade.

Combining historical Charm with modern, airy plans is the driving concept behind this charming home in Virginia. Spatial interplay is inherent in the rooms flowing into each other, yet maintaining privacy necessary for family of any size. Outdoor-indoor space lets the inhabitants connect with nature without sacrificing luxury and comfort.my role was to develop the conceptual ideas using BIm (Revit), coordinate roof structure with engineers, help with material boards, problem solve challenges on site and research appropriate detailing (proportions of trims/cornice/column based of classical concepts).

hAmPDEN hILLhampden hill is set a few blocks away from main street of the hampden neighborhood in Baltimore, mD.The client wanted a hometown feeling in an urban setting, so decisions were made using those two pa-rameters. Traditional detailing is paired with modern luxury in a very limited amount of space.I took part in the construction documentation phase with a lot of involvement/interaction with the client during the construction phase.

The renovation consisted of 1st floor addition to the backyard and expanding to a third level. The design’s focus was on the light well articulating the stairway as a sculptural element than just a mean of egress. The renovation also included a roof deck, brick exterior cladding, and upgrading interior finishes & lighting. Close interaction and collaboration with Project engineer and contractor was key to design success and structural solutions of this house.

CASA AgUADA A hyDROLOgICAL hOSTEL COmPETITION

Casa Aguada’s approach to ecological design solution recognizes the impact water had on mayan civilization. The hostel inherently utilizes and celebrates an ancient aguada on Tikal’s site for both functional and design purposes. The form it self responds to importance of water as an element, as well as incorporating local materials. Water from adjacent aguada is used for cooling and toilets, with possibility of further water treatments. The museum’s mayan hydrology exhibit will look directly over to one of the reservoirs that made the civilization possible, hence paying tribute to the site’s rich history. The limestone “spinal” structure that runs through core of the building acts as a support, entrance, cooling cistern and lookout tower.

The research project objective is to tie in the Kungsholmen area to the existing neighborhood by adding more street activity utilizing sustainable technology. Stitching the area together will be done by utilizing the space underneathan existing highway to add commercial venues and public gathering spots to support existing establishments. methods for design strategy will utilize established urban design theory and current initiatives by the Swedish municipalities.

The minority Veterans of Onondaga County in Upstate New york wanted a memorial to commemorate the World War II Veterans, who were never properly honored at the time (early 2000s). The location was to be on the lobby of the On Center in Syracuse, Ny. During a class competition in 2003, my design concept to honor names and the spirit of the veterans was selected.
