This is a case study, providing an

overview of how MMU implemented

Summon successfully

Having staff on board

was key to the success

of our implementation

Leveraging current

thought and best

practice was key to

the success of our

implementation

Sharing and re-

using material was

key to the success of

our implementation

Recording and acting upon user

feedback was key to the success

of our implementation

The user is top priority

To provide users with the best service

it is vital to have staff on board

We did not have many staff on board

with our previous federated search service

We learned that a

change of approach

was needed to get the

best out of Summon

We started a Summon working group

We were more open with staff

We developed a healthy dialogue

We wanted staff to look at Summon

from the user perspective

We created personas

to help staff see

Summon from the user

perspective

We understood marketing would be important

So we created

key points to

market

Summon

search to students”
