    Enable Interoperability by Conformance Testing

IED Conformace testing is formalized in the standardIEC61850 Part 10. It defines:

the methods and abstract test casesfor conformancetesting of devices used in substation automation systems

the metr ics to be m easuredwithin devices according tothe requirements defined in IEC 61850-5.

    May 2006 - The SVC(in Baden/Switzerland)

is qualified by the UCA International Users

Group to be an IEC 61850 Competence

    Center.

It is the very first manufacturers test lab

in the world to be qualified.

The SVC is thereby officially entitled to

certify the IEC 61850 conformity of products

and attach the Users Group Label to them.

The impact of poor SCL file quality on System Integration

Project experiences have shown that in multi vendors systems, a

good SCL file quality delivered by all suppliers is essential for

    efficient system integration

Non compliant SCL files can be a show stopper for the integration of

    IEDs

System Integrators must therefore be able to very fast identify poorquality SCL files to not loose time and money during project

    execution

As ABB has both roles supplier and system integrator, ABB has

developed a expert SCL file validation tool which is used in

R&D to ensure high quality SCL files coming out of ABB engineeringtools

    Enables Systemconsistency checks by comparing

    (e.g. model, versioning)

Dynamic datasets not visible for clients that have

not created them. Ethernet traffic cant be

Systemconsistency must be handled by client
