Herkunft, Bedeutung und persönliche Bezie-

hung: Die Geschichte der Produkte, mit denen

wir uns umgeben, ist einer der treibenden

Federn des gegenwärtigen Designs. Ob Mode,

Kunst, Architektur, Möbel- oder Produktge-

staltung – weltumspannend zeigt sich ein in

seiner Intensität einmaliges Interesse an prä-

genden Epochen, Kunst- und Stilrichtungen.

Deren markante Wesenszüge dienen als Ins-

piration für das Neue, Kreative und kompro-

misslos Individuelle. Diese starke zeitgeistige

Tendenz greifen die Christmasworld Trends

2015/16 auf und übertragen sie in die Welt des

Festschmuckes und der saisonalen Dekoration.

Tender Poem, Mystic Ode, Weird Diary und

Inventive Hymn sind nostalgisch und erin-

nernd, leidenschaftlich und dramatisch, eigen-

ständig und mutig, anspruchsvoll und kunst-

fertig. Alle vier Stilwelten haben einen un-

verwechselbaren Charakter und sind dennoch

miteinander verbunden: durch die gemeinsame

Suche nach Geschichten, die unsere Seele

bewegen.

Origins, meanings and personal relationships

– the history of the products with which we

surround ourselves is one of the driving forces

behind modern design. Across all fi elds –

whether fashion, art, architecture, furniture or

product design – there is intense global interest

in the epochs, styles and artistic movements

that have shaped our world. Their distinctive

characteristics serve as inspirations for the

new, the creative and the uncompromisingly

individual. The Christmasworld Trends 2015/16

take up this strong contemporary current and

transfer it to the world of festive and seasonal

decorations.

Tender Poem, Mystic Ode, Weird Diary and

Inventive Hymn are nostalgic and refl ective,

passionate and dramatic, independent and

courageous, sophisticated and skilful. All four

style worlds have their own unmistakeable

character but are still closely linked – through

the common search for stories that move our

spirit.

able, the pleasure in otherness blossoms. This

new creative spirit excites with expressive

emotions, skilful distractions, plenty of humour

and an extraordinary spectrum of colours.

Nostalgic yearnings, fl eeting memories, and

intimate snapshots unfold in the gentle inter-

play of light and shadow. In this subtle and

vital atmosphere a neutral palette of colours

gives a contemporary touch.

Artistry and muted, expressive tones combine

to create an emotional experience as a coun-

tically, passionately and enigmatically cele-

brates a world of fairytales, wonders and myste -

ries. In the mystic series of dark cloudy tones

the boundaries between dream and reality

become blurred.

schaftlich und geheimnisvoll zelebriert Mystic

Light, fl eeting, soft – our nostalgic longings fi nd

expression in the idea of impressionism. Its

light ness, immediacy and the seeming random-

ness of the elements are the inspiration for the

poetic feel of this contemporary and feminine

style.

In a search for what moves our spirit, distant memories

and sensitive snapshots manifest themselves. The diffuse

interplay of iridescent lighting effects, motion blur and

gentle translucency emphasises the fl eetingness of the

moment. A warm skin tone, white, powder blue and

light grey nuances underscore the subtlety of the live-

ly atmosphere. Silver and gold nuances give modern

touches in this fragile ambience.

Hell, fl üchtig, sanft: Unsere nostalgischen

Sehnsüchte fi nden Ausdruck in der Idee des

Impressionismus. Dessen Leichtigkeit, Unmit-

telbarkeit und Zufälligkeit des Bildausschnit-

tes stehen Pate für die poetische Note dieses

sowohl zeitgeistigen als auch femininen Stils.

Auf der Suche nach dem, was unsere Seele bewegt,

offenbaren sich ferne Erinnerungen und feinfühlige

Momentaufnahmen. Das diffuse Spiel irisierender Licht-

effekte, Bewegungsunschärfen und zarter Transluzenz

betont die Flüchtigkeit des Augenblicks. Ein warmer

Hautton, Weiß, Taubenblau sowie helle Grauabstufun-

gen unterstreichen das Skizzenhafte der lebendigen

Atmosphäre. Silber- und Goldnuancen setzen in diesem

fragilen Ambiente moderne Akzente.

Romantic gardens, subtle nature

studies, handwritten letters, gilded

notepaper, music clefs, insects,

feathers and fl owers of all types

appear as reminiscences of almost

forgotten times.

They are combined with delicate, organic

shapes to form an artistic whole. Carefully

selected materials such as floral embroidery,

fine lace and openwork harmonise with

gentle gold and silver sheens, crystalline

materials, frost and rime effects, blistered

surfaces and cloqués. Transparency, back-

lighting and blurred images are used sen-

sitively as artistic stylistic devices. Motifs

appear as intimate illusions – fleeting, vib-

rant and almost intangible.

schlüssel, Insekten, Federn sowie

Blüten in allen Variationen erschei-

nen wie Reminiszenzen fast verges-

sener Zeiten.

Sie verbinden sich mit filigranen, orga ni-

schen Formen zu einem malerischen Ge-

samtbild. Darin harmonieren ausgesuchte

Materialien wie florale Stickereien, feine

Spitzen und Durchbrochenes mit zartem

Gold- und Silberschimmer, Kristallinem,

Frost- und Raureifeffekten, blasigen Ober-

flächen und Cloqués. Transparenz, Gegen-

licht und Unschärfen werden feinfühlig als

künstlerisches Stilmittel eingesetzt. So er-

scheinen Motive wie intime Illusionen –

flüchtig, bewegend und kaum greifbar.

An insatiable urge for passion and drama – as

well as for the mysterious, the supernatural

and the sinister inform the natural and magical

character of this decorative style. Inspired by

the literary age of romanticism, fairy tales,

fantasy and poetry combine to create an en-

thralling world between dream and reality.

Emotion and individuality bring the unconscious and

symbolic into focus. A mystical series of tones from

black and basalt to dark petrol and deep brown forms

the stage for night-time scenes in which the miraculous

appears to become reality. Warm gold gives the orna-

mental setting a mysterious glow while temperamental

red stands for the power of passion.

Ein unstillbarer Drang nach Leidenschaft und

Dramatik – aber auch nach dem Geheimnis-

vollen, Übernatürlichen und Düsteren prägt

den naturmagischen Charakter dieses dekora-

tiven Stils. In Anlehnung an die literarische

Epoche der Romantik vereinen sich Märchen,

Fantasie und Poesie zu einer packenden Welt

zwischen Traum und Realität.

Gefühl und Individualität rücken das Unbewusste und

Symbolhafte in den Fokus der Betrachtung. Eine mys-

tische Farbreihe von Schwarz über Basalt, dunkles Pet-

rol bis hin zu Tiefbraun bildet dabei die Bühne für nächt-

liche Szenerien, in denen das Wunderbare Wirklichkeit

zu werden scheint. Warmes Gold verleiht dem orna-

mentalen Setting einen geheimnisvollen Glanz, wäh-

rend temperamentvolles Rot für die Kraft der Leiden-

schaft steht.

Rich in imagery, expressive and or-

namental – historic, mystic and fairy-

tale symbols serve as a template for

the fantastic motifs and designs in

this mysterious and wistful world.

It combines couture and casual to create

an out-of-the-ordinary look that consciously

gives expression to enjoyment of the gla-

mo rous. Eye-catching decorative crystal

objects draw their inspiration from modern

design and historic sources. In the extreme-

ly decorative materials the glittering and

the sparkling meet older elements – mirrors,

paintings and photographs from long-gone

eras as well as paint and fine patinas

marked by the passage of time. Modern

aspects can also be found in the combina-

tion of glass elements, sequins and bead-

work with everyday materials such as denim.

Bilderreich, ausdrucksstark und or-

namental: Historische, mystische

und märchenhafte Symbole dienen

als Vorlage für die fantasievollen

Motive und Dessins in dieser so ge-

heimnis- wie sehnsuchtsvollen Welt.

In ihr verbinden sich Couture und Casual

zu einem außergewöhnlichen Look, der

die Lust am Glamourösen selbstbewusst

auslebt. So ziehen beispielsweise ein-

drucksvolle Deko-Objekte aus Kristall ihre

Inspiration aus modernem Design und his-

torischen Vorbildern. In den durchgehend

sehr dekorativen Materialien begegnet

Glitzerndes und Funkelndes sichtbar Geal-

tertem: Spiegel, Gemälde und Fotografien

längst vergangener Epochen sowie von

den Jahren gezeichneter Lack und feine

Patina. Daneben finden sich moderne

Aspekte in der Kombination von Glasele-

menten, Pailletten und Perlenstickereien

mit alltäglichen Materialien wie etwa

Denim.

Idiosyncratic, unconventional and different –

this highly original style cannot be restricted

to standard categories. Inspired by trends in

contemporary art, an unmistakable look is

created that witnesses both the courage to be

different and the enthusiasm for the creative

process.

A confi guration emerges here that at fi rst glance appears

strange and surprises the viewer with its skilful styling,

humour and individuality. The characteristic elements of

this expressive, emotive form are the unusual combina-

tions in a palette of fresh orange, creamy nougat, gentle

pink, cool mint and dark violet. Neutral tones such as

anthracite and light fl annel grey balance the extreme

colour intensity.

Eigenwillig, unkonventionell und besonders:

gängige Kategorien beschränken. Inspiriert

durch die Strömungen in der zeitgenössischen

tisch für diese expressive Ausdrucksform sind unge-

wöhnliche Kombinationen in einer Palette aus frischem

Orange, cremigem Nougat, zartem Rosa, kühlem Mint

und dunklem Violett. Neutrale Töne wie Anthrazit und

helles Flanellgrau gleichen die ausgefallene Farbintensi-

tät aus.

COLOUR

“Everything – apart from the com-

monplace!” is the leitmotiv of Weird

Diary. Far removed from the every-

day world, here is where the impro-

vised meets the unexpected and

distracting, where the eccentric

meets creative energy. The roots of

this unique look range from abstract

painting to street art.

Brushstrokes, spray effects and graffiti

serve as inspirations for structures and

designs. The motifs – mostly figurative,

cartoon-like and with eye-catching outlines

– are extremely effective with their uncon-

ventional positioning. Surfaces are

speckled, mottled, marbled or coated with

vivid multicolour effects. Materials such as

laminate and PVC appear wild, colourful

and explosive. A contemporary note is

struck by highly detailed paintwork, embroi-

dery, applications, typographies and digital

prints.

„Alles – außer gewöhnlich!“ lautet

das Leitmotiv von Weird Diary: Jen-

seits des Alltäglichen treffen hier

und Irritierendes, Exzentrik auf

Pinselstriche, Sprüheffekte und Graffiti die-

nen als Inspirationen für Strukturen und

Dessins. Die Motive – meist figürlich, car-

toon-like und mit plakativen Outlines – wir-

ken durch ihre unkonventionelle Platzie-

rung. Oberflächen sind gesprenkelt, ge-

fleckt, marmoriert oder werden mit beweg-

ten Multicolor-Effekten überzogen. Materi-

alien wie Laminat oder PVC erscheinen

wild, farbig und explosiv. Eine zeitgeistige

Note entsteht durch detailfreudige Malerei-

en, Stickereien, Applikationen, Typografien

und Digitaldrucke.

The young design avant-garde visit their roots

with imagination, experimentation and artis-

try. Their creative efforts focus on handed-

down materials, shapes, craft techniques and

production methods from their own back-

ground as well as from foreign cultures.

Discriminating knowledge and outstanding handicraft

skills are highly regarded and are a characteristic of the

designs. Against this backdrop the style world of Inven-

tive Hymn offers a sophisticated mix of traditional and

modern aspects. It invites you to undertake an emo-

tional journey through the various style elements and

surprises with unexpected tactile experiences – accom-

panied by a muted palette of natural tones of wool

white, sisal, slate, Barolo, petrol, mustard and grey-green.

Apart from the classic handicraft

disciplines it is primarily fashion and

textile art that are the driving forces

behind the creative use of materials.

Clear examples include expressive woven

images, highly flowery structures, fringes

and long-hair looks. Distractions such as

conscious irregularities are intentional and

are a characteristic of this unmistakable

style. In the diverse designs ethnic-influ-

enced and folklore motifs meet abstract

and graphic patterns, which are artistically

applied to high-quality materials such as

ceramics, wood, metal and leather. Elaborate

experimental mixes of shapes, materials

and patterns convey the fusion of cultures

and point to the individual signature of the

designer.

Neben den klassischen kunsthand-

werklichen Disziplinen setzen vor

allem die Mode und die Textilkunst

starke Impulse für den kreativen

Umgang mit Werkstoffen.

Anschauliche Beispiele dafür sind aus-

drucksstarke Webbilder, hochflorige Struk-

turen, Fransen- und Langhaar-Optiken. Irri-

tationen, etwa durch bewusste Unregelmä-

ßigkeiten, sind gewollt und damit Marken-

zeichen eines unverwechselbaren Stils. In

den vielseitigen Dessins treffen ethnisch

anmutende und folkloristische Motive auf

abstrakte oder grafische Musterungen.

Diese werden auch auf weiteren hochwer-

tigen Materialien von Keramik, Holz, Metall

bis Leder kunstvoll eingesetzt. Aufwändige

experimentelle Mixe von Formen, Materia-

lien oder Mustern thematisieren die Fusion

der Kulturen und verweisen auf die indivi-

duelle Handschrift des Gestalters.
